  1. Was BI-LO now COLES, Dawn fill 2am til 9am in the morning. stacking shelves at 30 hours per week, take home around the $450 mark. this job is easy, have been doing it around 7 years now. I'm goin to 43 years of age this year, roll on the long service etc.and i have all the day to do what i please...work on projects or sleep or be lazy...lol cheers Teza
  2. Ok heres sundays effort 13-1-2008, left side done and fitted with 6x9 panasonic speakers fitted in both side panels, and tailgate panel remade and covered also a pair of 4x6 speakers fitted. I have monday off and plan on doing the false floor, raised around 25mm or more with places cut out for the tool box and trolley jack.So as too stop them from sliding around in the cargo area, then covered in black- charcol marine carpet. Here`s a couple more pics, say tuned for more later Cheers Teza
  3. Hey Dougy, Yep the seats bolted straight in with no problems at all, thanks mate trying to tidy the ol girl up a bit this year. Hey i have seen that your collection is growing strong of rolla`s.yup can't beat a wagon or van for versiatility. Cheers
  4. HI 2 all, Well its now 2008, i started this thread on the ke38 van like back in sept 2006. Not much work has been done since i put the later model seats in,but recently got around to putting in an old school black spoke and leather bound saas sports steering wheel and a panasonic cheapie CD radio unit (yeah gone is the tape deck, lol). This week end 12 -1- 2008, i thought it was about time too get rid of the shag carpet that has adourned the back of this van for around 18 years. So no more shag in the wag, well thats the intention. have gone for a grey vinyl for the rear passanger-cargo area as i will still use the van too carry crap around etc.So not looking at doing an A class pro job on it, a little rough is ok by me. The floor will get black carpet and the door trims will be a combination of the same grey vinyl and a purple crushed velvet (yes sounds 70`s tacky, but it is a late 70`s van after all and velvet was the rage back in the day) done in a design i have in mind to match the outside of the van when i eventually get around too painting it.Will get the left side done on sunday and the tailgate board and all fitted with four speakers in the rear. enjoy the pics Cheers Teza
  5. HI 2 all, Ok so work has been slow on the ol vauxhall ute of late, had the chance too work on it twice in the last two weeks. The results are in the pics, tho the story more interesting. I had not been able to find where the seat unbolted, due to the amount of rust etc in the floor. So bugger it i took the seat and the floor out in one,few cuts with a grinder and cutting disc (mmm should have brought more disc`s) and with the help of a garden tool mainly a pick axe to hack the floor when i ran out of cutting disc. the tailgate would budge either on one side, the lock pin was jammed solid.so with the leverage of the matock i at last got it free and was able to get the tailgate off. The next trip out was rust repair making time, and we just had an old washing machine blow up. Kept the stainless bowl for a friend and the metal cabinet of the machine to use as repair metal, being zinc annealed. What better for replacement of the rusted out sill panel. The white parts you see were hand formed using only hammers, cold chisel ,blocks of wood and some the home made front tube bar that was on the ute. pic of how the twin headlight surround from s series valiant looks, quick mock up shot. Yes it is in rough form, but once welded in i will be able to smooth things out and make pretty.so a long slow process has begun,i reckon 90% of the lower half of the car needs to be remade and replaced.but the fun and enjoyment of being a metal fabrictor and the result in the end is what its about for me. cheers Terry
