Thanks for the kind words everyone :) :rolls: Yes my daughter likes blue or purple for cars for herself personally.I have had nothing but trouble with blue cars over the years, they are like my own curse..Proof of that last year again when i bought the ap6 val wagon..yes its blue and yes many things not right.. This lil van will have some silver graced on it for a nice contrast of the purple, cos even tho i like purple..its just too much for me also to be just all purple...my daughter says no probs on the silver dad..so long as it looks good..he he he.. Stay tuned for more pics, time to break out the grinder and weld in new metal and get rid of the rust... Cheers Terry

So have gone about this a bit unorthodox yes,car is being preped outside in the weather elements and the way things have been in qld so far this year, very unstable.A WELL THAT GOES FOR EVERY WHERE LATELY REALLY. So just to have the primer covered up (as primer is pourus and likes to suck in moisture) i got top coat so as to give it a thing coat which also helps me see how straight i got the panels..

Hi to all...long time since have done much on here.. Many would have seen i had my ke38 van for sale for a while, well time has come that eldest daughter has turned 16 yrs of age and will in the next 12 months or so,need a car. So what better than to rejuvenate the old nanna mobile for her to use..Yes it requires, rust and body work.and is going a colour change with finally a bit of a custom paint job..was meant to do this like 4 years ago..oh well better late than never..Also requires a little bit of mechanical work i e rear brakes etc.. New colour is to be the old school ford wild violet purple..but i tell ya the cost of group 3 paint these days..ouch,1 litre @ $104.60 yes that included tax...will be highlighted by a light silver combonation.. Has taken a bit of preperation work to get panels flat for dark colour, havent the time to go bare metal on this one.. Enjoy the pics of work done so far, moving along quite quickly on this so far (as i have many other things to get done also) always projects of mine waiting attention.. Cheers Teaza40

Thank you MR Rudd.. You will be supplying me with the means to get my 6 volt generator rebuilt (takes care of around $500) and get my 71 year old vintage car back on the road for some enjoyment in these miserable and bad economic times... can't wait to be cruising inthe 38 dodge again whoooo hooo. Cheers Teza -
WOW, What a lovely old originalish classic, man sorry for your grandfathers distress and it would be breaking his heart to have to sell the 38 plymouth..i have a 38 dodge sedan in black and so far in debt for it its not funny ....mmm where could i get some more money... Good luck with selling her and i hope the new owner treats her with the respect an old classic like that deserves Cheers Teza40

Hi to all, Yes it has been a while since last 38 chev update, have had other things on the go and winter in ipswich isnt all that kind as far as temperature goes for working back to bare metal etc. All is back on the go now tho,as of the week end of 23rd,24th august the engine and gearbox are out the front sheet metal (bonnet, grill shell etc) are off the car.The firewall has been mostly back to bare metal and etch primed, the front fenders are and been getting some more work done on them (its play with bog time)and the grill shell has been back to bare and etched oh and the left side of the roof finally got etch primer. So as you can see by the pics its getting there and starting too look good in repair/rebuild stage, this car is planned to be a nice dark burgundy colour so i had better get it as straight as possible (plenty of bog filling and sanding too do and cheat heaps with spray putty). enjoy the pics Cheers until next time Teza40

Hi 2 all, Ok just had 12 days off and during that time i went to wintersun on the june long weeek end, a great sunday out just a pitty the dodge wasnt ready to take. On the subject of the dodge it is now just recently back on the road with 16x600 light truck tires and a set of porta walls white walls, and it looks great (see pic) real gangster car now lol. Many thanks to brian and rob waters of vintage tyre sales. Also spent 6 days out at ipswich working on my friends lounge room doing painting and working on the 38 chev, its starting to come along nicely now the the bulk of the body has been back too bare metal. Its coated in etch primer for now, found more bodgy bog job on the left hand side but to be expected and will fix up all good and look great when done. Enjoy the pics P.S. theres nothing like having a cheap 4 inch grinder go up in flames in your hands while using a wire wheel to clean the bare metal, believe me i dropped it real quick to the ground and kicked the power lead apart.Oh well you get what you pay for, thats 2 grinders so far. Cheers Teza

HI 2 all, update on Deans 38 chev, went out on the weekend 31st may 1st june and got stuck into getting the chev naked (paint stripped).Amazing what paint can hide i tell ya.found a heap of bog in many places but mainly the fenders as pics show,oh well fix it later n smooth it all out. Just part of working on old cars with history. Enjoy the pics Teza

Hey Trev, Yes i reckon i will be at the primer to pristine show, sadly i missed out on attending the pine rivers festival car show. Due to not being able to afford new shoes for the dodge (tyres),though that problem will be overcome very shortly. There are so many shows during June July August and i didnt buy it to leave it in the shed and pay it off ha ha ha ha,when i bought it odometer said 70074 miles.I'm told they are original miles (may have been around the clock once in 70 yrs) tho the cars condition says could well be original miles. One thing for certain it will read a heap more than that in my ownership,so if you spot me out n about or at a show.Give me a wave or say hi. cheers Teza Ps, the ke38 panel van still does most of my trips out too ipswich etc, great little every day car the rolla`s

Hi Nightphyre, Lol yeah i don't blame you for being in love with this pair of 70 year olds ha ha ha. quick update found a rip on the inside right front tyre the other day,so even more lucky to have not blown a fronttyre on last outing. So the dodge is shed bound until i get the dollars for a set of 16 x 600 or 650 black wall radials, white walls would be so much nicer but ummmm $266 a tyre...ouch cheers Teza

Hi 2 all, Ok latest update on the chev and the dodge, went out to ipswich on friday 16th/saturday 17th may and started the paint strip job on Deans chev (see pics). Then sunday was a day out in the dodge, picked my daughters up in the dodge (they didnt know i had bought it)much to their suprise and the x wife`s. (LOL) and we headed out too ebbw vale for the fine iron club swap meet n show 9 was a small affair) i think mainly because of another car show etc on out at greenbank. had a great day out but the day was very windy, the handling characteristics of the dodge on the highway with high winds is some what an adventure to say the least.along with the high fuel consumption($60 of fuel at around a $1.43 a litre and 266 kms travelled) with only 3 gears to use on the highway runs it drinks a fair bit (but hey what style and talk about turn heads). the only mishap was on the run home up the bruce highway when the back left tire seperated, took a chunk out of it (could have been much worse, and i had thought it wasnt destined to last long in any case). enjoy the pics cheers n later Teza

Hey there, LOL yes for sure he did. Some more pics and both cars are now in Queensland, the chev (mates car) gave a shit load of trouble trying to drive it from Accacia ridge to Ipswich. Was eventually after a four n half hour wait put on a tilt tray at Richlands to get there (so some mechanical exploring to do on it yet). The dodge (my car) i picked up the following day,and i tell from the time i turned the key and she fired into life.It was going to be a great drive home and man did it turn some heads. So glad i paid a bit more money for less work than the chev or the vauxhall ute for that matter.he he heh he eeee Cheers Teza

Hey thanks, and yes you are right on the money there ,Gangster style it suits it for sure. Imagine a ganster style wedding, pin stripe suits, tommy guns etc. The chev will look good in two tone colours when done. cheers Teza
