hi my pinkpan, hey welcome to the van owners world..yep i sure am glad i have this van of mine. no real problems other than the 4 spd is a hinderence.soon to put a 5 speed box in it,will not sound like its going to hand grenade the motor at 100 km/h then. mine is only a 4k and just can't kill it,it cops a flogging every where.easy to drive and park, does yours have side windows or full metal panels? tail lighta can be hard too come by for the wagon panel van model, the doors and tail gate glass also i guess but most other parts not a problem. i have the station wagon seat fitted in the back,it is a good thing...dual purpose. i can carry extra passengers or lay it flat for load space... all the best with your respray job etc and don't listen to them bagging it out..they are a rare beast these days. cheers terry

Hi Jon, heeyyy charrgerrrrr, love the chargers had two of them in my younger days. it was most likely a 1971 vh or up too 1976 vk charger you did see, done like the general lee of dukes of hazzard style. the last charger had twin headlight front, so not as easy to cover the lights. as they are seperate rom the grille area. cool and good spotting, its gettin harder to witness a charger on the roads these days. yes it has grown on me the full grille look. cheers teza40
-
ha ha ha ha yep thanks,so long as it stays that way.because i have gotten to like the look of the full grille, will suit the future look of the car once its painted. cheers teza

funny thing happened today, was at macca`s springwood.had just parked the lil panel van and my girls were getting out and along comes mr police officer and parks nose to nose in front of the van..mmm test to see if full grille gets attention..............waited (i was in the car still)...don't reckon he even noticed it... cheers teza

Hey Jae...yep you did talk about it on the cruise..hey man lets do it..flat black n scallop..take no time at all and look cool.. go all steelies on your sedan and white wall flappers also...so neat look, cheers teza
-
thanks Trev...well sort of,i like different things done to different cars mate.standard factory look can always be improved..he he he. it sort of like the late sixties camaro and mercury cougar and dodge charger 500 to name a few..our aussie ford landua coupe had them also.. cheers
-
Hey Woddstock, lol. well i got the car from my nan,so venetians would be a good and fitting look on the side and back window. if i left the car in one colour, but i have a custom paint job worked out for it. so may not suit, thanks for the idea tho cheers teza40 p.s. a mini truck style full chromed tube bar grille would be much nicer.
-
Hey Trev, sorry we didnt get to chat. ok,no not a factory release option.i had 2 of those grille`s one had a crack across the top on the right side headlight area,so good excuse to cut it up for the inserts. got out the 4 inch grinder, roughly and i mean roughly worked out what part of the grille to use.had tried to keep the factory round headlights but to no avail so ended up with the square one recessed back to clear the full grille (used the original brackets, but reshaped them and cut some metal out of the headlight bucket to ste it all back towards the radiator panel). the inserts over the headlights are held in one side with a self tapper screw and 2 cable ties on the other side (easy to remove,if the law don't like it) and I'm sure i will get done for it eventually but hey thats life. so in all not a perfect neat job only took around 3 hours, but from a distance it looks the part. cheers teza40

Hi to all, ok the day before the april fool day run in brisbane 2007,was toying with this idea for a long while, and finally have done it... the pics tell the story....enjoy started off a round eyed van then got some square eyes and one closed over looks ok with one eye open but alot better with both eyes closed 12-4-07 ok was out playing taxi driver in the lil van yesterday,( i take my girlfriends niece to work on regular occassions ) picked her up and was going along morayfield road.on the other side was a police crew cab vehicle, they took a little look my way whilst goin past. i looked for them to turn around and come say hello, but they didnt. dropped of kara at work back onto morayfield road and into torrens road, and hello there they are again.i did my usual and turned into a side street (i use this one to cut back too home),and was followed down this street by the police. so instant thought was,ok the grille has their attention, the lights were flashed..pretty red n blue ones....i pulled up and out came one of the two officers with a breatheliyzer unit in his hand.random breath test (usual deal). so did all that and had no problems. and for the second time, not a word about the full grille covering the headlights. mmmmm third time lucky...maybe..stay tuned.

Hi..well not so new member on here now..lol. tho progress on the van has been very slow (drive it more than i have time to work on it) and have been waiting for the queensland summer to end and the nicer weather without humidity, makes it better too paint a car. i was lucky enough to pick up an 81 ke 38 wagon to raid parts from, the genie extractors are fitted, the front buckets from ke70 from it are also in and much more comfortable than the originals.oh yeah and picked up a good condition bonnet long time ago from nanrangba wreckers (the other one was way too rusty). still on the change over list is the 5 speed gearbox and 5k engine, the mag wheels (my choice of the two sets that came with the wagon)need money for decent tyres for them. an interior revamp also... but like i said too much fun driving this little beast. too work on it,keeps the k`s down on my toyota 4 runner 4x4.and cheaper to run the panel van. few update pic`s. enjoy and stay tuned for a custom paint job some time around june 07 (i have place to paint it properly now,not out in the elements). cheers teza40 terry

mmmm hi guys...may be in for a run in the panel van from the north side..have to work saturday night but late start from aspley is a good idea.. cheers teza40

HI spotted this afternoon..early..sunday 25th march on bruce hwy/gateway fly over, brackenridge. heading south a bright yellow ke 36 wagon (well i think its that model). looked pretty neat..very nice looking wagon, i was coming back in my toyota 4 runner 4x4 from the ormiston swap meet. cheers teza40

WOW...in so neat and desirerable original condition for sure..have not seen one that good since they were new here in australia, very good save and find. mmm yes the radiator placement is odd, notice it runs a thermo fan by the loooks of it (no fan on engine)... good luck with keeping the rust demon away in the future....

hi..i have just supplied a rolla club member here in queensland australia, with a disc brake set up from a 1979 ke 55 sedan.rotors, calipers and the hoses both sections. he is doing a brake up grade on a ke15 and intends (from what i have spoke to him about) too use the hoses from the ke55 in original lengths tho get new ones made up for the conversion,no good having badly perished or splitting brake hoses. i guess as long as the excess line if any does not fowl on anything, from lock to lock or suspension travel you should be ok cheers teza40

Yes very schmik job indeed, looks hot and like brand new... hey just curious is the front bumper standard they way it reaches all the way to the wheel arch lip? cheers teza40

so long as no moisture in the air at that temperature, the paint job will most likely survive a very long time.. i painted the rolla panel van in my possesion now around 14-15 yrs ago (was my nan`s back then) in 40 degree adelaide heat during summer . the car has spent the best part of its life since then outside and the last 3 years or so near the ocean on bribie island in queensland, and whilst it needs doing again. i think it held up well considering. i remember almost passing out spraying in that heat tho.. picture taken november 2006..waiting for no humid temperature (qld winter time)before i re paint it..lol
