  1. 5K. Can be had for cheap and they are literally a 'few' hour conversion. Out with the 4k, in the the 5k! And as said previously, the extra CC's make a huge difference, especially for a bog stock daily. Just makes most things in life easier when you have more torque!
  2. It'll work...Trust me  I have like $1.60 worth inside my struts
  3. If the gland nut is tight as it can go and the shock still rattles in there, pull it all apart and chuck a couple of 20c coins down the bottom of the tube, underneath the shock  They'll pack the shock a fraction higher so the gland nut will clamp down tight as onto it!
  4. Went to the wreckers this morning, and, as I thought would be the case, couldn't find anything that fit the injectors. However, I just figured that it would be easier to modify the plug and just be done with it all haha  30mins later and all the injector plugs look like so: Should do the trick! They still clip onto the injector fine, and don't move at all, so can't complain there
  5. Sorry, what's the problem? He is saying he will rebuild a K with the money he gets back from his tax return?
  6. Impossible...If it is stock. Otherwise, longer lower control arms and/or adjustable camper tops are the only alternatives for the front.
  7. I believe so Taz ;) Have all the factory sensors now (I think so anyway), bar an O2 sensor, however I am guessing that I can probably get one from another car at the wreckers. Hopefully I can find a suitable one there for a fraction of the cost of a new one :)
  8. Nah no plugs yet for it. I know I could get around it by removing the guides as you suggested, but, for what it is worth, I might as well have a search first and see what I can find, or let you get some if I can't find the goods here. Rather take a bit more time and get something that fits nicely first time round :)
  9. Engine is a 4AGTE running Wolf 3dV4 ECU, so yeah, no dramas there etc. Thanks for the heads up anyway :bash: Well, if that is the case with the guides Trev, I don't feel as dodgy knowing that it has been done before with success :) Sort of thought by looking at it that it wouldn't be a huge drama anyway, considering that the plug actually clips onto the injector on the 'top' where the barb is ;) Aim is to knock off work tomorrow on time and go for a wrecker run, see what I can turn up anyway!
  10. Late update I know, but I have had progress with this! Decided to buy another wiring loom from a smallport 4AGE, and well, it was exactly what I needed :) All the sensor plugs are correct, though the only 'issue' is that the injector clips/plugs do NOT work with the 7MGTE injectors I have. I thought that there were only the 'square' and 'round' plug types on the injectors, but it seems that they also vary in the aligning guides that the clip slides over onto the injector itself. It seems however, that the plug on the cold start injector clips fine onto the 7M injectors, so I think I will just try wrecker hunting for some alternative plugs from the 3S, or just 'modify' the locating guides one the ones I have. Again if anyone knows an easy, proven method, feel free to comment ;) Thanks for the help so far guys, appreciate it!
  11. Also, this needs to be shared :)
  12. Yeah the more I think about it, I think that sourcing another complete loom would be the best option. Searching other Toyota models may be an option, but I have no time at the moment to get in there to search, due to stupid work hours. Even then, I think the chance of finding everything I need will either be a very slim chance, or very expensive... Thanks for that Trev. Going to shoot them a message about it too. And should you remember what that other engine is, that would be great :) One more thing, for everyone at home, talking of injectors and such, is the below injector a 7MGTE item? When I bought them, I was told they were 4AGZE injectors. Looking through the FAQ they though, they appear to be 440cc 7MGTE ones, but I'd like to know for sure. They are what type of injector plug I need anyway:)
  13. Should have mentioned, where I live, there are no Twin Cams at all at any of our wreckers. So pretty much can't just go and chop some out of another harness. Also, I have been told that the plug types are not in the Toyota EPC, so there is way in hell that my local dealership will be able to help me. (Last time I was there looking for K pushrods, they spent 30minutes looking under YMxx Torago's for them...) I just sent a query to that mob Shadey, will see what they say when/if they reply :) Thinking I might be better off just tracking down a complete smallport loom as I can imagine multiple new plugs probably costing more :S
  14. Hey Guys, Got a little question regarding the plugs on a 4A wiring loom. Basically I know that there are the 'square' and 'round' types, but I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction regarding how/where I would go about buying some replacement plugs. :blinks: Have mainly 'round' sensors on my new engine, including the injectors, so wanted to track down some new plugs to swap from the 'square' type to 'round' on the wiring loom. Or, Would I just be better off selling the loom I have, and just trying (again) to find a complete Smallport loom with the 'round' plugs? Have tried searching, but as soon as 4AGE and Plug are searched together, it seems to just point me to spark plugs etc :hmm: Please post up any information you have, or advice you'd be willing to share! Thanks, -Alex
  15. They don't need any special licences.... ...Just a law that states "4WD owners must have mud on their vehicle at all times. Failure to display mud under any circumstances shows a clear misuse of a dangerous weapon and will result in the loss of demerit points" Or something like that anyway :)
  16. I would agree with that aswell. I run 260mm Corona brakes on the front with the 2 spot callipers and basically had to shave a 'fraction' off the calliper to clear the particular 13" wheels I had. Have tried other 13's on them and they did not work. Assuming that the HiLux calliper is large than the Corona one, 13" would be a definite No.
  17. Not my type of car for the exterior styling...but... Jeez you work fast! :) Gotta be happy with how that engine bay looks, it is immaculate! It is looking really great man, keep up the good work :)
  18. You won't find anything for the front. Reason being KE70 struts are a 45mm OD and all decent shocks will be to suit a 51mm OD strut tube. There is a reason why 99.9% of people upgrade their front setup for more than just the brakes. Also (Could be wrong on this) if you car is as 'low' as I am picturing, even a short stroke shock in the front will not be overly great as there will be f@$k all compression stroke. You would need to section the front struts by 20-30 atleast to try and make up some more travel. Which then means you'll want some RCA's to level your LCA's...etc etc.
  19. Agree 100% with Philbey. I took mine to a guy with like 30 years of rallying experience to set up, and they are f@$king amazing. From what he told me, the only major difference was something to do with the air bleeds for the jets. One being a fixed size which is too big for a small capacity engine, but this is easily fixed with the use of some small reduces or something. (Can't remember the details). Basically any type will do the job fine, but like anything, it is ALL in the tuning and setup. Also, don't skimp in the tuning. Expect it to cost $500-$800 atleast.
  20. KYB part number 343113 for the rear. Short stroke shocks to suit VN-VR Wagon I believe. Though if you have no bump stops left, that is probably to low to suit even the above mentioned shocks. I think another option is Sierra shocks for the rear. They would suit stupidly low cars...
  21. Mmm new pair of rims en route from Japan to me :) 14 x 8 offset around 0ish.
