  1. Top deal. Absolute top deal.
  2. As strola said, use a drawthrough setup is easier. Most people use a stromberg/SU sidedraft. That said, there's not that much work to set the carb up for blow through, especially if you use a DGV weber. Just need to spend more money on bits. Read up.
  3. dude - Ladies present ^^^^
  4. Zip ties. Drill a locking plate. all sorts of techniques. Google it, there is a fair bit about how to modify your advance curve etc.
  5. I used a strip of bicycle tube wrapped around the strut rod with the multigrips. Wont damage, and rubber has good friction so it grabs nicely. Too easy.
  6. You'll get a good running CA with box and the comp for 1500 if you look around. Its a highly under appreciated motor and it'll be cheaper and easier to mess with, and an easier fit than the SR. You'll still get plenty of ponies out of it too.
  7. It can be a pain getting the chokes on these suckers to work nice, you ever see an XE Falcon trying to start on a cold morning........ I've found sometime getting these webers going on a cold morning is even harder with the choke than without! Sidedrafts don't run them. Just pump a few times then hold it flat and it'll start.
  8. Research goes a long way. Pull your cam out, stick it in the mail and send it to Tighe in QLD or WAde in melbourne. As for the specs, read the faq, theres info in there.
  9. Yeh, what makes you think you have a blown head gasket? I had a suspect HG on a CA18 turbo for months, but it was only when I started getting frothy water that I bothered with the fix. Still drove it like that for a while anyway. No water in the crank case or any of that.
  10. what about henry rollains? I've never named a car. i call my 911 the nazi sled, and thats about it.
  11. Wicked. Might just use this to point out, Rutan is a dude. Saw a docco on the Xprize and he's a tripper.
  12. I'd be guessing a traytop truck over a ute - easier to do and I can't imagine a ute would have the momentum to rip the full length of the car. Sorry to see that mate. I hate public parking my KE16 because of this sort of shit.
  13. Possibly the 8th time this has been asked this month. 2 variants of the K50. if you seek you will find the info you need.
  14. Vintage year, not classic year. I just bought an A Model chassis, I could drag that along....
  15. Surely the A12 rods aren't that hard to find, just a secondhand set would do it!?
  16. ???? What numbers you talking about mate, you mean the timing marks on the front of the block?
  17. You want the ke30/55 K50, not the KE70 K50 then. The KE70 is shifter is further back and you will probably need to cut and shut.
  18. So Rob, let me get this straight - you came to adelaide and visited the 2 most scenic parts by the sound of it?haha. I live in an area where all the streets names starte with W and end in A, and I think theyre all aboriginal names. pretty funny.
  19. check again johno, she's already making them!
  20. Kool Keith is one of the biggest trippers out there. Saw him years ago, off guts. Also caught his compadre Motion Man with Kutmasta Kurt ages ago too. Got them to sign a bunch of stuff. Swollen Members, one of the best live acts i've seen. Seen Mix Master Mike twice on his own and another 2 times with the beasties. Caught Beasties, J5 and Snoop a couple of years ago, snoop was a last minute surprise annoucement and I kid you not, I never listened to much of his stuff but he put on an unreal show. Hilltops, always a good show. Muph n Plutonic also good for a watch. The herd, I jumped on stage and asked the chick from the herd to marry me once.... LC was funny, and koolism were good too live. she said no. Good show none the less. Plenty of others, not heaps of big acts though. I do want to check out Qbert some day, and the Roots next time they come around. For local acts, check out Illzilla, SS Pecker and DJ Mugen, all good underrated stuff!
  21. Its in piles on the table! Slugs and rods are together cos theyre balanced, just bolt it all up. Just got to appease the gf long enough to give me a weekend to nail it hahha! Just had a squiz last night I noticed the piston dish is much smaller on my new ACL duralites than on the original ones. Going to have to do the maths, might have a bit much compression. Damnit..
  22. pegz is Aussie man, kicked off obese records! There's some chicks from Melbourne called Hiatus, had them play a crazy "gig" in my backyard a couple of years ago. Mad times.
  23. that also is a weapon. I want a 10 with fat flares on it and a cool period style front lip!
  24. Putting it on is easy - Fit the spring to the winder then push it straight onto the shaft! The lugs will just pop into the groove. Its designed for rapid assembly on a production line. Removal is a different matter
  25. Its been discussed many times, you're just going to have to try it and see. Some do, some don't, it's all brand dependent. At the end of the day you might have to reweld the tail off the extractors or bend something....
