Thats cool man.

Spent most of the morning fiddling. I have the heater hoses I need now. I have also arranged to have the local sheet metal guy fold up a piece to block air from the bottom of the radiator. I've test fitted the hoses and all seem fine. Once my universal cable comes I can make it actuate between hot and cold and that's that for the heater. I also realised that with the motor back at the correct angle I have got enough room for the efi temp sender to be in the stock location. I removed and cut down my cooling panel above the radiator and have painted it silver metallic. I also bolted in the rear tow hooks through the bar. Remind me to do this before the tank goes in next time.

List to finish: Wiring all complete. Buy ecu and load with map. Fit seatbelts, console, dash, seats and doors. Glass in the hatch. Fit oil pressure senders when the remote kit comes. Motor out briefly so I can: Fit oil pipe extension and reposition the drain bung. Spot weld in some mounting lugs for the fuel lines and adjust the tunnel and firewall clearance to suit them better. Grind off some ugly bits in the floor and trim the shifter cut-out neatly. Shave the ac firewall holes to cut noise in the cabin. Convert the radiator support top bar to be removable so that it allows the motor to go in and out much easier. Stitch weld the cross member to stiffen it. Maybe brace the rack mounts. Paint the bay.

Can I Fit A 1Uz-Fe In To My Te38 If I Try Really Hard?

and it lasted, at least for a while longer. Got my speedflow connection, looks ideal for the heater.

Haha. That ke70 was like a piece of rollaclub and it had an interesting life. Pretty ironic though, you buying old parts off me to cobble together a 4age conversion and paint it in the carport, and Owen who wrote it off that had a lot of money in it.

If I had locks that would be a sweet idea.

Oh and Justin, I need to add one more wire to the speed sensor which will be located on one front hub.

So again I found inspiration and went to the shed and fitted the fuel tank back into the car. Its all tucked away nicely and even has the rubber bush installed around the filler. I have also found the branch of wiring that goes from the fuel sender lid to the number plate lights, so that's installed. Its now back on terrafirma and rolling. Looks pretty menacing. I also got the clips on one side 1/4 glass switched around, then clipped on the moulding that goes around it. Looks sweet. Once I get the three clips I'm missing I can finish the other side. I clipped on the mouldings either side of the windscreen. Started to play with wipers but either the stock wipers hit the dmax bonnet or I have no idea which wiper goes where. One has a P and 2 have a D cast in them. Honestly I'm not sure which are even ae86 type. Justin can you take a couple of shots of yours before next weeks wiring session? Ive also found the plugs to put on to make the door switches connect as factory.

Just managed to get the perfect fittings to sort my heater connection once and for all from speed flow. I have a couple of fittings coming to give me an m16 banjo to 5/8 hose nipple. Its forged aluminium so I should be ok for water. Cost about $55 including freight too. Not much if it proves to work fine.

Yes I do, and youre responsible for a lot of it. When you know something is so close to running the body can come together quite quickly. Ive ordered a braided stainless remote T piece for the oil senders that should fit neatly where I want it to go. Ive also found a mate with some clips to replace the missing ones around my quarterglass. I will be buying speakers soon and mounting them for the stereo since its apart as ʞ©$ɟ on the inside. Also put on my door rubbers, and counted out the trims, it appears I have it all for once. Does anyone know how to fit a window to a hatch properly? Whats the technique? Someone help me out so I can have a weatherproof car. Will ship out a few things I've been ebaying today and then have a look for what else I can do on it. If anyone out there in the world wide web is reading this can you help me out with any of the following parts? Adm/zenki parker/corner light wiring and bulbs for both sides. Also the wiring for the interior light that plugs into the kick panel area. Pair of door locks that match with a key. Would love a pair of front gaurd plastic inner wells as I can actually fit them in my car for once. Some ae86 centre console brackets so I can bolt my console in. Plus I need some adm number plate lights. Would also love some mudflaps. Rear seat side trims are missing all together

Just sold a pile of shit on ebay so that will fund the ecu I'm after. :clover: ;)

I couldnt resist doing some more, so I helicoiled the shit thread and then bolted the gearbox crossmember back into the car. I also bolted in the rear muffler heat shield and the stone tray, dash pad, cluster, speedo cable, and some more of the dash pieces. I got the doors out of storage and cleaned the dust off them. I also clenaed up the windows and all the mouldings for the hatch and 1/4 glass areas. The trims a bit bent from some heavy handed removal. WIll need to source a few pieces I think. I also insulated the tank straps with some rubber I had lying around. I noticed a couple places I neeed to tidy up some welds before fitting the tank so I held off doing that. Bit annoyed that when I purchased the centre console the dickhead didnt put in the brackets for it. so basically its a desk ornament. ʞ©$ɟing dumb kids.

Forgot to add, once the wiring and electrics are all sorted, its going to ricks for a week to have the headers and diff bushes sorted out. Ill aslo have rick add a bung for the wideband sensor in the collector at the bottom of the headers. Then I might send it for a tailshaft before christmas if possible timewise and funds permit. Then whenever I can cobble together the funds for an e420d I can get to work on running it.

Did you have a towbar in there with the tongue removed owen?

Rivnuts are amazing. Justin came back for round three of man vs copper today. While he made the engine and ecu connect I went through the car and tidied things up and added a few bits and pieces that were missing. Once the engine was connected Justin extended some wires for my epicly loud double horn system that I took from an ae86 zenki halfcut I once had. I also put the headlights on and the front bar with the blinkers and Justin tested those. Justin swapped the plug on the brake fluid warning light and made it work. He also added an air temp sensor, purge solenoid control wire, and made the engine to body harness that powers the dash. For some stupid reason my parker/blinker combo lights have no wiring at all, so I need to find that. Justin has also connected the fuel pumps so as soon as I can find the appropriate rubbers from a pair of tank straps Ill be bolting it up into the car and calling it done. My home made rear bar mounts have been fitted, just with self tappers to the rails for now until I can fit the tank and exhaust and make sure they miss properly, at which point Ill weld em to the chassis. They are just inch wide 3mm steel straps that I cut and bent up. I think they originally had been used to bolt the fuel cell into this ae86 when I got it. I helicoiled the drivers seat belt buckle bolt hole as it was stripped. Took 3 goes to learn how to fit the coil but once I worked out the tricks I nailed it easy. I still need the correct 12/32 bit to drill out for the next one, so I wasnt able to get the gearbox crossmember bolted back in properly. The hoist I was buying I passed over as it didnt have safetys on it at all. Still looking for the right unit. I cleaned, sanded and painted the stone tray and boot floor/muffler heat shield with some high temp silver mettallic the same as the exhaust system was painted. I bolted the header tank back in with some closed cell squishy foam behind it. I also refitted the clutch reservoir after finding the hose weeping fluid and deciphering that I used the wrong stuff. I need actual hydraulic hose I think. I also need to redo the paint on the booster. Never mind, Id prefer it in silver anyhow. I need to make or source a braided line for the oil pressure senders so I can remote mount them. Enjoy the pics.

With Justin coming tomorrow morning I decided to do as much as possible on the to do list before he comes. Borrowed a welder today and fixed up about 3/4 of the items on my to do list that were stopping me from putting things back together. Welded up a couple spots that were unfinished from the original work we did. Fixed a bit of rust and sealed it with epoxy. Seamed up a couple of the rusty points around the b pillars as well.

Did a bit more today. I trimmed out all the engine plugs and fitted them in place with as much wire remaining as possible for Justin to connect to. It did make me realise that the temp sensor is going to hit the firewall once the plug is on it. Where's my hammer... Here you can see the metal band I made to mount he FPR. And heres the alternator wiring started. And Justin the battery is charging mate. :clover:

and purchased, thanks for the link mate, and the nutserts. :y:

Got a lot of good work done today with the help of Medicine Man. He and I ran the power feeds, under the body, mounted the battery in the rear, wired the starter and alternator, tested lights and made the lotus lights work properly as only 3/4 lights lit up as brake lights initially. Also he has this wicked nutsert device so i was able to bolt in the heater tap, the battery box, the front tie bar, and the stone tray all in a few minutes with no welding required. That shits ace. No piccies sorry, but it doesnt look much different really. One more Saturday on it and it should be ready to run. At that point Ill try and send it back to ricks for the tailshaft and the header to be corrected in the correct phase.

Oh my bad, yes its an 18rc car, needs more 18rg, disregard my first post. Brain fart.

You can do anything to the starfire you can do to a 186 or 202, its basically a holden 6 with 2 cylinders lopped off, so all tuning knowledge applies from those engines which have been worked a lot historically. You can bolt in an r engine from an rt132 but thats not too exciting. Youd be best with a beams, a commodoore v6, or an sr20 for ease of installation. If you want a gen 1/2/3 3sge its a lot more work to bring the fwd motors into rwd. Could also consider a hilux rz engine.
