I think its because Paypal and ebay are closely linked and duplicate paypals might be a symptom of someone using 2 ebay accounts. There are obvious advantages to having 2 people on ebay.

Bad ebayers Won a nice canon flash for $21. The seller has not sent it and just marked it as posted. Now of course 5 weeks later its not arrived, and the seller refuses to provide the receipt or tracking information. To me that means he never sent it. He is a pretty green ebayer, with a score of 20. I assume he thinks he can get away with this shit. Negative feedback to the face motherʞ©$ɟer.

I actually warned him in my message back after his first rude response that publicly posting to try and shame would not work, but little did I know he had started this thread 6 hours before I even wrote that. So of course its nice to see all the time I put in to successfully trade with people and do the best I can for the site has paid off. If he had actually conducted some sort of investigation by reading my previous posts on the site, or calling me on the telephone on my freely given number to sort out any perceived issues, before trying this shaming publicly shit after a tiny amount of time, then I would have understood his actions. Unfortunately, he brought it to the public realm so I'm happy to see the internet make a fool out of him. He set it all up for us. Gold. I may pin this thread and move it to the for sale section as an example of the complete wrong way to solve a perceived trading problem.

OK, tested the heater core, and sadly it leaks. Now I have to either pull the whole dash apart and fix it or just learn to live with it. I fitted new heater hose, leads, vacuum lines and a fuel filter today. I wont do the main radiator hoses and belts until I'm ready to flush it. The fuel filter was the original one from 28 years ago. OMG, it had some slime come out of it. Must have been holding back the fuel as that and the leads and it instantly makes more power. Overall drastic improvement, idles better, and more power pulls harder off the bottom. Once I find out what the plug gap is I will fit the new plugs and that should freshen things up even more. Came up a tiny bit short on the vacuum lines and only one real issue to report. I managed to snap a barb off of a vacuum solenoid, as there's about 3 or 4 of the things in the egr and emissions systems, and naturally I had to break one. Luckily I can just grab one from any 80s toyota efi. Its taking ages as I am cleaning as I go, well worth it, as the standard paint is still quite good.

So I just crawled out of bed at 6am, showered, dressed, gathered my samples, drove accross town, was 10 minutes early to my 8 O'clock sales meeting, only to look at my phone as I arrived to see a feeble text from the client cancelling the meeting. Really, a text? You called to make the meeting, why the ʞ©$ɟ can't you call to postpone? Too afraid Ill be disappointed, or just oversleeping, saying ʞ©$ɟ it, and sending me text as you roll over and go back to sleep. ʇ~~ɔ. ʞ©$ɟing too afraid to call me, sends a text, one hour before a meeting that it takes me 45 minutes to get to and start with the words, hope I don't wake you? How the ʞ©$ɟ could I not be awake then? WTF? Its the ʞ©$ɟing point for you to grab my attention, and let me know not to wast 2.5 hours travelling to your asshole of a house. Not to mention I passed on a photo shoot and some stand up paddle boarding to accept this meeting, and now I have a ʞ©$ɟed up Saturday with nothing to do, no work prospects and too much rage for my own good.

Alternator is fixed. Now to head off to Repco and try to source the right or similar radiator hoses and heater hoses, as well as some vacuum lines to replace the grotty ones with. Then over the weekend Ill clean the shit out of it. Its out in the sun now airing out, as it was a bit musty inside and there was a little condensation in it when I got it.

The parts are easy to get, its just the freight from the UK thats expensive. Id do something more locally available. Like the MIvec 2.4 litre lancer engines.

The unique look is kinda the point. I think most Toyota people see these and assume they are some sort of early prelude or something else from some other Japanese maker. I know I used to a few years ago.

Its now registered. Ive driven it home. First impressions: Engine, transmission and diff are silky smooth and quiet. All running gear seems fine. Brakes are awesome. The mechanic had discovered new PBR gold wheel cylinders when he inspected the shoes on the rear, and plenty of life in the linings and drums. Same story up front. Brakes were replaced at some point, most likely when it had other work done around 2008. Driver seat is comfy. Its got the 3 speed auto with overdrive. Its exactly what I wanted from it, a cool old daily. Now to get down to the business of giving it a great clean. Also, I still need to find an alternator. if anyone has an alternator from a 22RE powered Celica or corona please hook me up. I can also use the YN63 4 runner alternator as its identical. Best thing is I was able to buy it one day and have it registered within 2 days. Probably a record for me in an unreg car sale. ;)

Ive heard he walks with a limp and uses brake fluid for aftershave. I also heard when he dances he generally uses crab like sideways motions and will often shout "giver" at top lung. Could be rumours though.

He will definitely have it by now.

Yeah, exactly. Someone has even changed the exhaust as well. Super quiet daily driver style.

Its had a a more thorough going over now. It needs an alternator and battery. I have already got the new battery and dropped it to the mechanics. There is some related electrical fault, but its only to do with the charge circuit. The fuel was well and truly off and has been drained and replaced by fresh unleaded. Its dead straight underneath. Lots of rust proofing all over. No rust anywhere barring a few spots of surface rust in the duco. The wheel arches and all panels are crisply straight. Brakes look good. Tyres look good. I gets a roady tomorrow morning. The ATF is being drained overnight, and the diff oil is being dumped and changed at the same time. Ill need to scrape the tinting off the rear window as its all bubbly and cloudy. Beyond that it really needs nothing more than a thorough detailing, and maybe a new back bumper, as this one is straight, but the skin is very weathered. All in all, a nice find I think.

Hahaha, while that car is my inspiration, I'm not going there. There's already plenty of try-hards being done and not enough 4tgtes' to go around on this planet as it is. Just went and collected it. Runs sweet. Was last serviced in 2008, has done under 250klms since the last service. Its sat for about 5 years under an old womans house as she was too old to drive. Its had a new radiator. It had new tyres fitted just before being parked up. it might have done 5 or 10k on the tyres only. Interior is great, no dash cracks, nice carpet, blue velour out the ass, tacho dash, all plastics are there and intact. My mechanic is going to flush and sevice the oil and water systems, fresh genuine coolant, a couple of new radiator and heater hoses. All the white stuff you can see on the black hoses and rubbers is just mildew, the hoses themselves are great, the rubber items in this vehicle are all in great order. I didnt realise it this before but its has rack and pinion steering. Its also the IRS model with the 7.5 inch diff so its an ra65. Looks clean and tidy underneath, it just needs a detail more than anything. Has bubbled tinting on the rear window, it has a service history, with services 2 years apart like clockwork into the 1990s, however from about 45000klms there is no info, but I think its still been looked after by someone. It has a GM delco battery in it, and a replaced radiator thats not very old seeming. As far as rust its almost a non issue. Its got about half a dozen small crows feet in the white duco. Thats it. I think my painter can take care of that and buff it in an afternoon. Ill have it back with rwc before the end of the week, then its rego time. The I'm doing a 1/2 track day in my ae71 and pulling it off the road. Since nobody is cool enough to buy it, and nobody seems to understand that while the 20v is worn out, its the least valuable part of the whole mechanical package. Meh.

Hello everyone. Just invested in a new daily while I take the ae71 off the road. Its an ebay special, 90,000klm RA60 ST 2.4l 22RE Auto. It has air con and seems to be in immaculate condition. The auction has just ended and I'm anxiously waiting for the seller to contact me. I can't wait to go and look at it for the first time. I'm planning only a manual conversion and a full service for it. If the tyres are good I'm not going to change the wheels, Ill just have it buffed and tidied up and maybe headers and that's where the mods will end. Should be a magnificent daily while I'm finishing the ae86. I don't think I'm even going to lower it. Pics from the add:
