There shoould be a multi speed motor that pushes out the air. Is it functioning correctly?
-
There are other auto auction mobs, but more obscure to find than manheim. I did manage to get a vgc ke70 through manheim once, in the salvage auctions.
-
I don't think there is such a thing in a ke70 my friend.

Ok smaller radiator is here. Its a bit thinner and a bit less wide, so hopefully its a lot easier to fit.

Well if you're mates kill someone out sliding then they'll be in prison. I assume this is something they have considered and accepted. Doesnt make it right but its something they should consider ahead of time. One of my mates did a few months for seriously injuring someone.

Its all about the people we elect. I wish we would elect a 100% independent parliament. Naive as it is, they have to compromise and thoroughly discuss everything. If government moves slowly on legislation then that's fine, we have more than enough and they tend to rush it in my opinion. Independents tend to be more in touch with their electorates. I don't see their role as providing a constant output of legislation for us to pay on. We already have the system to live by. Someone needs to take control of the Police. Ministers should scrutinise what's going on, not feeds the machine and pass it on. Its all broken. The first thing you should do is withdraw any votes for major parties. Get some grass roots politicians in the right places. Thats where it starts. Shitty laws like this are where it finishes.

This attitude of acceptance is exactly the problem. People permit these silly laws by being so short sighted. They put themselves on a pedestal as an angel. You may never intend to break the laws, but what if they are used against you anyway? If you all didn't gather it the first time around, the issue is that the new laws can easily be used inappropriately. On innocent enthusiasts, even the ones up on a self inflated pedestal (your pedestal is invisible to police btw). No amount of self righteous self explanation on the road side is going to allow a policeman to see your pedestal. Its really easy to marginalise someone as a fool, then state that your not part of the fool group. Until you meet the wrong pissed off Policeman who spent all of last week trying to catch the local hoon who drives the same type of old car you do, and throws the book at you for no actual reason. Yep, you're actually in the fool group, along with everyone subject to the laws. The fact that people can immediately say it doesn't apply to them and disregard this blatant problem with our laws says more about those who stand on the pedestal than the "hoons" perceived to be the problem. I'm not saying were all hoons, I'm saying take notice cause this effects you and all your mates whether you like it or not, or whether you want to invest any interest in it or not its still a problem for us all.

Its not us you have to convince, its the police and the government. There are 6 shires in qld that do not require a roady for rego. Just move to Longreach. Lots of highways and very few cops to scrutinise your frankencar.

Rule 1. Any modified car shall not resemble a thrashed midnight drift car. Clause A (as in Ahh Shit Pulled over again.) No illest merchandise. No flat Black Rattle jobs No Fluffy toys No Hangrings No dildos in the cabin No lowering beyond legal limits. Rims under steel gaurds with normal fitting tyres. No pretend tofu livery No Loud Pipes that protrude too far from the body No rust or dents Use High end parts and do excellent maintenance Clause B: (as in Be...) Quiet Safe Obiedient Respectful Registered Insured If you want to play on the street we don't want to hear about it. The best way to keep your car is to have it presented well enough that they feel your love for it when you are stopped. Be ready to explain how you've complied with the laws. I find if you speak in more specific and detailed terms than an officer can match they will often understand how hard you've tried and leave you alone. If they pop the bonnet and see you have modification approval they will most likely leave you alone. Like Dave said, keep it quiet and tidy and don't be an idiot on public roads and I cannot see an issue. If they already know you and hassle you, a change of car may be the fresh start you need, but behave well above all else. Its ever more costly to go to court and fight charges if the Police decide to throw the book at you.

I'm still waiting for someone to fit a late gen lancer 2.4 alloy motor into one. A 4b12. Its essentially a mitsubishi 2azfe. Same power and torque, balance shafts, all alloy, and most likely easier to fit.
-
Yes, I like it.

Doing up cars is really easy if you assume everything bolts up to everything else. Yes as Dave said a bigport manifold is not a viable option on a 20v. If you wanted to go single tb you may as well use a smallport and cut and shut the manifold as it would be better for turbo. A smallport compared to a stock silvertop will make a bit less hp when turboed, but most likely as much torque.
-
Great car and welcome. Feel free to drop a pin on the rollaclub world map. ;)
-
Yes you will need a custom designed plenum, itbs and turbo is amazing for throttle response. You may even need to oring the throttles to keep boost in, depending on how far you want to push the pressure. Just a nice set of lower comp forged pistons and you're set. The rods and crank are the same as 4agze items anyhow. Standard cams would be fine, and even retain vvt for more boost down low. Will need a W series transmission. I've seen them put down between 150rwkw and 200rwkw depending on a million factors such as turbo choice, CR, Manifold and pipe design, porting and boost pressure.

awg5412 is your original name, and it never was validated for some reason.

Just settled on and purchased an aw11 mr2 alloy radiator. Fits better than the 2zz one I believe. Its slightly smaller overall. The 2zz one didnt fit with the fans on it for thickness. It just fitted for overall size. Hopefully this thinner 42mm thick core and a couple of thermofans and it will fit and be fine. Then its just a matter of a few hoses and installing a filler/reservoir someplace.

All governments are moving towards control of their citizens. The more laws you make the worse it is for people to express their individuality, and the fearful aging majority make it possible. Its really easy to marginalise someone as either a hoon, criminal, or danger to society. Much much easier than being empathetic towards your fellow man, and trying to learn from them. Once someone has been marginalised into one of these undesirable categories they cease to be human in the eyes of the policy and its supporters and they lose their human rights. Its always been the case with people on the fringe of society trying to gain acceptance or understanding for their cause. Whats happening now is that everyone's interests are being heavily scrutinised by an over inflated government that misunderstands its role enough to think it needs to justify its own existence by making policy. Policy which represents the singular point of view of whatever rich empowered minority wishes to curry the favour, and not the majority of people. Government is so ridiculously out of touch with the people its sickening. end rant/

Just heat wrapped the exhaust manifold and switched to a different tap for idle control today. Works a treat. Car is going really well, I thought the vvt pulley was shitting itself, but I put some fresh oil in and the noise went away. Perfect.

For me Ive seen so many half fixed shitters that people are calling their pig/dorifto/racecar that Ive kind of lost faith in the scene. I see a lot of kids with short attention spans coming and going, and not a lot as far as people that know cars and love them for something more than cheap thrills. I don't post in many projects cause most projects don't hit anywhere near the technical level that would captivate me. Contrast this to my rollaclub browsing habits in 2007-2010 it would be quite different. I used to look at almost only the projects section. Something along the way has died inside me, as far as passion for other peoples cars goes.

I've found in the past that Palmside has very reasonable pricing on quaife stuff also. Sounds exciting, although I'm not a fan of s13 suspension in a Toyota as most people end up finding that the negatives outweigh the positives. Ke70 Dave has a lot of experience with it. Great to see another long term builder still at it.

Good for those gin fuelled hangovers.
