Yeah drove off to look at a dash on the weekend. Seller claimed it was overrated, yes he used that word. What I saw was a half faded uneven coloured brown dash that had a little of the surface vinyl missing and the support structure cracked in half. I knocked it back, what a waste of time. Spent no more than 30 seconds there. People need to open their eyes and look at their shit as there is no such thing as a standard price for a used car part. Used items need to be purchased according to condition.

Time For A Career Change?
LittleRedSpirit replied to madKE35coupe's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Young and unattached, go to the mines. Earn a lot of money in a 5 year period, save it, and do something grand, like spend 10 years living like a king in Thailand. -
Holy shit mad skills! Need more pixels of engine bits.

Toyota May Possibly Reintroduce The K Series
LittleRedSpirit replied to Banjo's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Looks great until you lean it over the centre line, and die. And there is no way in the world it will be powered by a k motor. -
At least you need to tell us about what engine and chassis, efi or not, any fuel or ignition system tweaks you have done etc. Its a bit hard to assume all this out of thin air and it will have a big bearing on your problem. If it were a fuel issue, then it could be that your carb isn't holding enough fuel in the bowl (maybe because there are contaminants under the float. Possibly you have some other sort of fuel surge if its efi depending on your set up. If its wiring you need to be more methodical than just shaking wires. Test each wire, unwrap frequently handled wiring and inspect for breaks, kinks or crushed areas. It could be as simple as poorly secured wires grounding out and killing your electrical signal for the moment the g forces are applied. To me it sounds like either fuel surge or g forces moving wiring

Haha, getaway in Stockholm more like it.

Nice car mate. If your searching this forum for info you need to be searching for "t18" as thats what your te71/2 liftback was listed as here in Australia and most people refer to them as t18s' on this forum. Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay. I like the colour I think its called desert sand mettallic.

S374 is the diff code. This means 6.38 inch crownwheel, 3.6:1 ratio and non lsd. All s diffs are non lsd. Basically means you have an S diff which is shit and means you can't do much with it. Upgrade to a 6.7 inch T diff from an GTS ae86 or TE72GT and you can get lsd centres for it from TRD, Kaaz, tomei etc. The upgraded diff will bolt in, make sure you take the handbrake cables and tailshaft too for a perfect bolt in. Plus you may end up with rear discs this way also.

Due to the lightness of a ksev I prefer to compare its aero to that of a tissue box.

Enkei Center Caps...ke70 Stupid Question, But...

try Mungi Mods. -
Yes LJ thats another great point. They are a short term proposition compared to normal autoglass. I'm planning to use it as a daily driver, but to do drags, sprints and the odd trackday. I'm kinda debating whether to cage it at the moment. If I was to it would need to be pretty unobtrusive.

Well either way they are both scratchable however acrylic will crack and craze all through its structure and polycarbonate will be a lot stronger in an auto application. 10mm poly is rated as bulletproof. 10mm acrylic would not be at all. There are films and coatings you can apply now that reduce the scratchability of plastics when used as windows. Acrylic is a really low rent plastic, it has a number of issues for a fabricator, not least of which is the fact that the sheeting varies in thickness by as much as +/- 2mm across a single sheet. Polycarbonate is made to more exacting standards as far as measurements go. Sounds like a small problem until your window wont fit into its channel.
-
Just priced some polycarbonate sheet. 3mm is about 100 plus gst for a 24x12. 4.9mm is about 145 plus gst. Might make some poly side windows for this thing, and maybe a poly panel instead of the hatch glass. Should be able to shed quite a few kgs this way. Downside being I don't think its road legal.

Picked up the mounts from the powder-coaters.

Hadnt driven this car for about 5 weeks due to it being too hard to get in and out of while recovering from Hernia surgery. I had my rotors machined today, and checked the seating of the cones in the hubs for the new bearings. I have successfully gotten rid of the pulsing that presented itself after the new bearings were fitted. Now its perfect. Thanks alot to Brian at Rocklea Mechanical for the wheel and brake masterclass. Thanks as well go to Shaun Vidler at all Brake and clutch supplies, Rocklea for the mates rates machining on a tricky set of rotors. Champions. Also was having a few battery dramas and was able to get a new battery under warranty. Yay for a battery with a 36 month warranty. Problems all sorted and man am I enjoying driving it again.

Waiting forever on fabrication. I have an ae86 to put together except no coilovers and one small detail is stopping me fitting the diff, which means no wheel fitment and no progress.

Hello and welcome! This is exactly why I share my work, I don't try to make money off it, if I inspire someone then that's wonderful. Id be happy to help you with any questions you could have about the rwd config, however I fear I may have put exhausting detail into the thread already. Thanks again for the kind words and useful information. I may one day boost the engine, but for right now I just want to keep it simple and make sure my oil system mod works before I get too excited. Ive got some nice CP pistons to go into it at some stage, once I know its running sweet. You never know you may end up back in an ae86 or ke70 someday.

Depends if you like the original styled cars or whether its your thing to do mods all the time. On a street car I don't see the point of a highly engineered race fuel setup. I'm extremely happy with the system I have been working on, it wont get fuel surge, I can fill it through the standard filler and I can use the stock wiring for the sender in the tank. The stock tank weighs not much more than the poly cell (really not much at all) and it holds plenty of petrol. It still gives me a spare wheel under the boot floor and keeps the inside of the floor pan looking stock and unmolested, which should translate into less police attention and a more stock looking car, which I like. I just cannot see the benefit of spending another grand or more on a whole lot of fabrication when I need to spend a thousand on an ecu to run the car. I was able to swap tanks so I spent no money which is a big bonus when your already 12 grand into a project. While I don't mind spending the money when I have it on quality equipment or fabrication, its more a question of how far is it worth pushing this thing. If I go re-engineering systems that are already functional then that's just extending the budget and time frame unnecessarily. I want it on the road, its been 3 years now, maybe more. To me the car would be no more appealing or valuable if I did all that work.

Made a little more progress now. I was able to meet a nice guy called Sam on the GC yesterday morning and exchange the fuel cell I was selling to fund an adm tank, for an adm tank. So that was a nice swap. Were heading in opposite directions with our ae86s. Id still like to drive mine on public roads, and he is making an indestructible ae86 drifter so its a win for us both. So now I can bolt in the tank and finish laying out my fuel system around it. At last something to do on the car that doesn't mean it has to be rolling. Also sold some wheels to put the money towards the adaptronic I plan to use. Thats probably the last big purchase then. I still will need a driveshaft cut down to suit and an exhaust system fabricated, but that will happen in stages. Wish I could sell a few more bits and get some more money to finish it and of course more room in the shed. Need to see what's going on with Maxhags new waghun as its in my darn shed still now a month later from when it was supposed to go.

Spray some mist towards the inlet from a spray bottle and see where it gets sucked in. However hearing the extra info, you might have fuel intermittently coming through the carb. Might be time for a carb overhaul. Are you getting good mileage or is it a bit down for what you expected? Might well be extra fuel coming through the carb in squirts. Might just be dirty jets.
