Nah his mate said take 40mm off. I say go for it. Let us know how it runs.

Hes back! This is great to see, one of the better projects on this whole site. I know how it goes with long breaks, but its important to stay true to your ideas and goals. Also, congrats on getting some actual gainful employment in film and TV, I'm extremely impressed and jealous and know its the start of big things for you. I remember your handball house warming vid from a while back, it was great, nice to see the potential being realised of both you and the car!

If she wasn't famous she wouldn't stand out from a crowd. I'm sure you walk past 10 girls with her look everyday and don't even notice they are female.

Genki Sudo vs Dwayne Ludwig is a great fight!

I might spot weld it, but I want to wait until I'm setting the car up as I might want them to sit slightly higher.

Thanks!

I'm planning to go and visit a good mate who has a sandblasting cabinet, so that I can clean up the caliper brackets, rotors and rebuild the calipers with his help.

Rusty Relics - Post Old And Abandoned Rollas Here
LittleRedSpirit replied to Tally's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Was offered this earlier in the week but knocked it back. It was soooo far gone, not even worth cutting rust repair bits from. It was all rust. To be clear, this is not the wreckers thread to show which nice cars are at the local wrecker. We would prefer that is done in your local area section. Then you can chat about it to your hearts content with people who have a chance at using the information. Please leave this thread to be what it was intended to be. This is to honour the really far gone, sad but kind of awesome and artistic rusty Toyotas. If you spot an abandoned one somewhere obscure, or find an awesome picture of one on your travels on the web, then please post it up. -

Alright. I now have the coilovers back. Looking sensational. Just need to find the right gland nuts with the finer thread. Going to paint em up today.

Thats a hell of an inlet manifold.

Yes I had some federals at one end and some cheapies at the other and you could really feel how different either end was.

Was wondering why the fuel meter kept dropping too much for the amount I had driven, and was chasing a fuel smell from the car for a few days, and what do you know, I found where it was leaking. The pressure damper on the fuel rail was full flow pissing out, so if I managed 8.5 klm/l with that pissing, it should be a lot better now. can't wait to see.

Ke35 Wheels Fouling On Caliper
LittleRedSpirit replied to bennymac's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
Its not about offset its about spoke area clearance or x factor as some people have been calling it. -
I leaned the afm out 1 click to get a wee bit leaner mixture in the hunt for economy. Drives great. I got just under 8.5klms/litre around town, which is just about what the epa claims they do, but I reckon we can do better than that. I've also purchased a new heater core from the US via amazon for the princely sum of $109 delivered. Now I just need to find some sort of double din stereo so I can ditch the tape deck while its apart. The one kinda crappy thing about this vehicle is it has nowhere that really lends itself to mounting speakers, its just got 2 in the dash, and the left one cuts out sometimes and I have to get all fonzy on the console to fire it up again.

Just spoke to my fabricator. I'm looking at getting my coilovers back this afternoon. Nothing stopping me once that happens. Shit will be rolling. Terry if you read this give me a ring when you can, we need to flare this girl to suit the southernways.

Because in our climate as opposed to Europe, the beer will be hot before you're really into the brew.

My response: Negotiation comes after seeing an item. You messaged me, I thought you might be a bit more pro active, because its hard to say your not a keyboard warrior, when you are just sitting on your keyboard, and not off somewhere taking pictures of wheels you want to sell. Acting like you're helping me out when you just threw a few demands on email. If you were helping me Id thank you, this aint it. If we take the long view of your situation; Once you have the pictures of the wheels, if the worst case scenario happens and I don't want your wheels or we cannot come to a deal, then you could simply post a for sale add with the photos. You already said that you had decided you wont use them, so what would be the problem if things worked out that way anyhow really? What kind of promises am I expected to make. If you want to sell them, advertise and sell them, and why is that my problem? Seems like going and getting those photos would have been the push you needed to start the process of moving them on with or without my buying them. You're carrying on like that act is some eternal favour that should be etched on a cave wall or something, for my great grandchildren to read. Its not. Get your shit together man. We all have accomplished a lot in our lives and I feel in no way emasculated enough by this non event to start listing things about myself that I think are good as some glorious justification of being self centred. And what the ʞ©$ɟ is with this talking down to me bullshit. You do not know me. Your tone is disgusting. Making it simple for me, what the ʞ©$ɟ? Making me agree to a price before I even get to see an item? That is unheard of. Treating me from message one like a little kid with no money and no idea what they are even worth. You shouldn't be such an asshole and condescend to me or anybody you don't know. Matt I don't think Ill bother writing back.

Ok mate, that goes both ways of course so my asking price is $12 million.... but according to the MA61 discussion thread they reckon $350+. Let me know if youre interested at that kind of price and I'll get some photos. Shipping would be about $100 maybe, I'll confirm have to weigh them to check. Cheers, Ed Well I'm not making an offer till I see condition, I appreciate your message but I don't know what more I can say without seeing what I am expected to offer money. If thats unreasonable to you lets just leave it at that. Leave it at that then mate. I only sent you a message after I saw your posting asking about some. I didnt expect a mexican stand-off over the price. Put yourself in my shoes, I'm not going to dig them out of storage for photos only to have you reply with "I don't wanna spend more than $50". Clearly if you said "Yes Id be willing to spend that", and then I sent you pics of some poor condition wheels you would be under no obligation to send me the money. Good luck with your search. Cheers, Ed Hi ed, I'm not responsible for them being in an inconvenient place. Thats an odd thing to be complaining to me about. I feel you're not actively trying to sell the wheels, but it seems you sincerely want $350. I'm happy to pay what items are worth, but there is no standard price for 30 year old parts. Condition matters, my Celica is almost concourse and I want nice stuff for it. Why do you think I'm asking again and again about the condition? After time the factory anodising comes off or goes cloudy, and this often can happen in storage, so they may not even be in the condition now that they were when you put them away. You have still in 3 messages not addressed the condition issue which is central to the value. So what I'm getting is a message from you that's all about $350 and not about the product I'm trying to purchase or its value. Have a look at my build and see if you reckon Id spend money or not. Please allow me my freedom of choice to offer what I think an item is worth, and offer me enough info to allow me to make that decision properly. These wheels are far from rare. Why do you think I would consider freighting an item interstate that I can clearly buy locally? Because condition matters! I don't know how clear I can make it. If you are simply going to sit at your keyboard and make demands of me and not work with me at all, then I give up. Matt Suck my balls Matt. Cheers, Ed I'm looking for wheels, not to be mind ʞ©$ɟed by someone dude. You are a time waster. So you actually need to put effort into this and its not for you, I totally get it. Go back to bed. Mate, Ive been doing this for a while, I'm not a keyboard warrior/time waster. I actually founded the supra club up where you live (back when it wasnt filled to the brim with body kits and stereos). I know when I come across with someone who claims to be building a "concourse" supra, but can't just be upfront and honest about $350, theyre going to be a hassle to deal with. I thought I was as upfront as I could be, I just wanted an indication of where you stood. You start carrying on about it like youre buying a house or negotiating commodity prices with China, when I just asked what you thought of an indicative price. I even told you where I got that indication from. I could not have made this more simple for you. I guess simplicity is sometimes too complex for some people.

The idea that a car used part from a 20+ year old car has a fixed value. Posted in a thread on toymods asking about some ma61 wheels. Get message from a dude saying that he has some he wants to sell, and am I interested. First stupid thing; of course I am, as you know 3 days earlier I asked after some. So what a waste of time as a first point of contact. Secondly, immediately wants an offer on them. Has not sent any pictures, or even given a statement of the condition they are in, with or without tyres. All I know is, the guy thinks they are ma61 wheels and wants an offer for them. So basically I have absolute zero info and I'm expected to drop an offer? Does the fact that they are a particular part for a particular car seem like enough info after 20-30 years? So I message back saying Id prefer if he had an asking price and I'm not willing to drop offers on items I've never seen or had an idea of condition on. I tell him if it were up to me with what he has told me, Id make a low offer as I don't know the condition and I have to freight interstate. Seemed like a pretty obvious response. So he messages back and say, oh well it works both ways so my asking price is 12 million. WTF. Was it too much to ask to know what condition a used item in? He sent back no photos or even any info on condition, but went on to tell me what they go for and that he would only do photos if I would pay around that. So all I know is, he has some wheels, and they are apparently made of gold and super exclusive. I don't even get to ask a question about them, and if I was cool Id just throw money at him, right? WRONG
