  1. gets some decent rims and slam it!
  2. THATS THE SPIRIT! where theres a will theres a way
  3. nah i wouldnt say so if you want to go any lower than standard, which i assume you do, there is a need. Ryan- yeah I'm sure they will a little, i havnt moved the car yet since dropping it back on its wheels so id say it'll will settle somewhat. But it wouldnt surprise me if it didnt because it is STIFF (just how i want it ;) )
  4. didnt see the need to. The diff dented the floor up about 1/2 inch from hitting on hard launches/changes with the old leafs in and with the car now sitting a little higher i have about 2 inches of travel. Plus the rear end is nice and stiff now, i very much doubt it will even hit anymore.
  5. so the rear end sits about an inch higher at the back and a metric arse load stiffer. Extra height gives me a heap more clearance for the diff, but makes the car sit higher in the rear compared to the front. Front ends coming back out today and will hopefully be back together by next weekend. Then i just have to wait for workshop space

yeh wasnt running/idling too well when i was there. sounded pretty tuff though :bash:
  7. yeh got them in fine, bit harder to put the new ones in cos they were alot heavier than the standard ones. Havent dropped it back onto its wheels yet cos i still need to bleed the brakes.

white KE70 with a CA18DET at an exhuast shop on regency road, I was in my white merc getting my exhaust fixed looked like a never clean/neat car anybody on here?
  9. should sit exactly the same because i got the leafs made to stock height heres a pic of the where i mounted the line locker
  10. post a pic of ur other car ; ) yes i already know the car lol but for the others!
  11. wish my paint was that nice! I assume next time round you'd like to tidy up the rest of the car?
  12. also bought this today Got some fitting to suit and plumbed it into my rear brake line, fair bit of mucking around to get it mounted (had to remove the fuel tank so i didnt drill through it while mounting it) but I'm very happy with how it turned out. Its tucked away and has tired up my rear brake line nicely as it wasnt the best before due to the different solid lines on the hilux diff. Ill grab a pic tomorow, just ran out of light today.
  13. Update time: car is currently sitting like this lol front end is all back in with a few dramas..... New shocks, new tie rod end, new bushes throught. turns out i already have lowered pedders front springs which have been reset again about 1.5" lower, the adjustable strut tops arent in yet but will be shortly, I'm happy with the height the front sits at but i am still not happy with the stiffness. So when the struts come back out to put the strut tops in ill be getting some new front springs made to the same height but stiffer! ATM i have almost 0 camber and about +1.5 caster. When the strut tops and springs go in ill be looking at going to about -2 camber and +3 caster :bash: New vs old leaf springs I'm halfway through putting them in (ran out of light) hence why the car is sitting how it is.
  14. IMO anything but black will look cheap and tacky satin black!
  15. dry ice is definitely easier and alot cleaner than a heat gun and scrapper! Looking good mick, keep the updates coming
  16. my last exam finishes a few days before, so if the cars in one peice i will come, if not ill be out drinking and in no state to be driving
  17. I'm a huge fan of rat rods, but they are far more than a rusty old body. People sent thousands doing up a car to that style, underneath they are usually in better mechanical condition than most older cars. The outside "rust" is only surface rust which is carefully monitored. Beemer looks sweet, commy is a joke!

white KE30 with challengers, skinny fronts fat rears. Sounded like a rotary, so id assume its the one off here that a dude sold a while back cos it looked identical. Spotted on Port Road mid morning
  19. thats it!!! I do love the new look of your car, but i really don't want/need the extra attention. We'll have to organise a photo shoot/cruise once my cars back on the road
  20. thanks mate, looks will be staying as it. Its underneath where the modifications continue to happen. The slimline front plate and square rear plate definitely suit the car must better than the crappy rectangular standard plates. After seeing how much better it looked on your car i changed to them :D Plus the slimline front plates give me a little bit more airflow to my FMIC and oil cooler which is a bonus!
  21. got a custom oil catch can made, ordered all new front suspension which will arrive monday and hopefully be in before the weekend. Front struts are currently out and receiving KE70 front disks and calipers. Raven hooked me up with some bendix pads (cheers mate). Leaf springs should be ready to be picked up by the end of the week to. Everythings happening a little quicker than i thought which is nice. Looking at getting a line locker and brake bias controller as well.
  22. got bored at work Running REAL low on fuel in a brand new lancer, managed another 15k's out of it before deciding to fill up lol slammed the daily WTF!!!
  23. truly inspirational, perfect mix of old and new school! I love it
  24. i was way to tired to be driving last nite after work so for the safety of all i opted to stay home.
