  1. I own a 95 surf 3 litre turbo its the best truck ever, only problems i have had is the radiator shit itself and a mates one blocked up the radiator and did the head gasket so might pay to rip the radiator out and get it cleaned/recored. All in all great trucks.
  2. Hey, got my front adjustable strut and big brake setup all together and ready to go in i am just waiting on my wheels to arrive so i can fit them and check the width of the diff before i go ahead fitting it. All the wiring underbonnet and behind dash is all sorted now, everything works suprisingly. All i need now is the radiator and drop tank, sent away a request today for a qoute for a custom alloy radiator should hear back tomorrow. and drop tank and intank pump will be made and fitted once the diff is in the car. Some photos of the coilover setup. Bilstein AE92 inserts, shortened strut casing with the ae92 thread welded on the top of the AE86 strut Techno Toy Tuning AE86 big brake kit including willwood 4 pot callipers, slotted and semi drilled rotors, braided brake lines. Enjoy, Phil
  3. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=33512 They fit like a glove any more questions about the 3sge conversion just ask Phil
  4. I'm just a fan of 13's i suppose haha. 14 x 7 hotwires in corolla stud pattern are hard to come by over here. Got my axles today and springs for my adjustables so will get some pics up tomorrow of the setup.
  5. Ok bit of an update. Motor hasnt had much work done I'm still pissing around with the blacktop throttle bodies making a manifold plate and welding it onto the factory runners etc. I am still waiting on my axles to be done by the engineers should have them by tomorrow hopefully, have made up my front strut setup with shortened AE86 strut cases and AE92 top threads welded on to take the AE92 bilstein inserts with adjustable sleeves and springs. Have gone for 6kg/mm springs in the front hope this is close enough. I have dynamatted the firewall and front floor to reduce road/engine noise a bit as it was terrible before, Just in the process of wiring up headlights etc. and that will be the wiring completed. I will put up some more photos of the struts and diff when i have them painted and completed properly. Phil.
  6. sounds like a bad earth to me pull the dash out and find an earth if there is any and it might need cleaned up or a new termina; or something
  7. WGMG = When people talk about brakes and the "oil" that you put in them. I always wonder if they have actually put "oil" in instead of brake fluid or not ? cause jeez it makes a mess. You wouldnt beleive how often i see it at work haha.
  8. i agree k series will run on anything
  9. Nah ill need to run atleast 15s. 14 inch hotwires don't look as good as the 13s either. I will be holding onto the wheels for my next corolla though haha
  10. Yea its a bit of a shame I'm not going to be able to keep them with the brake setup. Just ordered myself a set of 15x7 Konig rewinds shouldnt look to bad but a hell of alot better tyre selection. The eagers are probably one of the shittest tyres ive driven on haha
  11. Best thing is to drain all the fluid and just wrap a rag and sum tape around the end but you can get the brake hose clamps to put on the hoses or vice grips and a rag (rough) But i wouldnt be to worried about it if youre going to replace the hoses and flush the lines out eventually.
  12. time for another update, Got all the engine wired up and tidied up the mess behind the dash, Had to get my clutch slave cylinder sleeved down to 5/8 from 15/16 to give it a bit more throw on the clutch fork. My axles are at my engineers getting redrilled to 4 stud and should have a hilux lsd head here in a couple days. Have ordered the ae86 big brake setup from techno toy tuning and the kit should be arriving in a week or so (pic below). So just need to sort out my cooling system, get my drop tank made and fitted, sort fuel pump make up the front adjustable struts and its not too far off from running. Will try and keep updating. Phil
  13. Hey, sounds like you need to fully overhaul you're callipers and replace the brake hoses while you're there as they can de-laminate on the inside causing blockages. Aslong as the master cylinder operates fine and is not leaking down the front or into the brake booster it should be alright but i would still recommend buying a new one. You can check to see if the boosters working by pumping the pedal without the engine running to remove any vacuum and then hold your foot firmly on the pedal and start the engine. If working correctly the pedal should creep a couple of mm to the floor but it should not continue to sink. Machining the front rotors and rear drums might not be a bad idea either aslong as they still have a bit of meat left on them. The rear wheel cylinders are cheap as chips so id personally just replace them and new shoes if required.
  14. i bet it actually goes quite well considering the technology involved these days with batteries and brushless motors. still prefer a rattly 4k tho haha
  15. WGMG = When you undo your crank pulley bolt and it picks up a thread on the way out so now it wont go back in.
  16. hey, Have you checked the timing at all I'm no advanced mechanic but maybe the problem is in the advance in the distributor ? i had a similar problem when i first bought my corolla and the distributor was completely seized up.
  17. Well if you read back through eveyones comments the general consensus seems to be to go a legal drop i.e 2 inches at the most, some decent springs in the front, some reset and maybe an extra leaf in the rear, front and rear decent swaybars, and front and rear strut braces. Effectively this is what i used to have on my own ke30 and it went around corners like nothing else i ever have owned and stuck to the road like shit to a blanket. All it needed was a rear lsd and stiffened up a bit more and some more power and it wouldve been very tail happy. You asked for info from rollaclub members and they have given there honest opinions and these are tried and true. Listen.
  18. cheers mate, project has halted a wee bit this week as I'm in sydney spending all my hard earned money at the v8s haha but as soon as i get back ill get into the wiring of the motor. will update as soon as I'm home.
  19. Hey mate yea i am having the same trouble but apparently if you ring up link in nz they will supply you with some base settings and you can go from there and get the engine runnng. or thats how i understand it anyway.
  20. Well its been a while but a fair bit of progress has been made. I have had my bellhousing machined down about 5.5mm to get the input shaft to sit right in the spigot bearing properly, have made up my hydraulic clutch setup, had the engine bay painted the same as the outside colour and removed some unnecessary brackets and welded up some unused holes. Brought my link $$$ and have fitted a new clutch and flywheel and dropped the motor in for good. Hopefully. Next step is to wire up engine bay, dash and headlights etc., make ITB adapter, build exhaust, and sort out diff, driveshaft and brakes and front suspension setup. Heres some pics, Enjoy.
  21. yea right on man I'm over all the crap about ford vs holden there pretty much the same cars anyway. lets be honest if toyota was there it would blitz the field :jamie:
  22. I'm pretty horrified to be honest
  23. I got my bellhousing back from the engineers so spent most of the day on the 30 setting up the engine mounts properly, took alot of mucking around to get the angles and spacing right. Tomorrow i will make a gearbox crossmember and tidy up the engine bay ready for a coat of green.
  24. hey I'm currently fitting a 3sge beams into my ke30 as listed in the members rides threads, I'm having trouble with the front swaybar as it will touch the front of the sump. I need a swaybar that is further forward around the front of the sump and just wondering if anyone else has fitted any different swaybars to overcome this or a similar problem. Cheers Phil
  25. yea its going in pretty standard at the mo apart from the link and the qaud throttle bodies and exhaust i just can't wait to get it goin now it should be up and running by the end of the year if not before. Yea cheers il get over there and have a look.
