yeah there are pics of my old set up on there. You can use standard carbies. I didn't change jets and it ran ok on a 5K. To link the carbies, I just used fuel hose attatched to the throttle shafts with hose clamps and hookes up the cable as standard to the back carby. As for air cleaners, I used small chrome ones from repco originally for Stromberg carbys (picked up for nothing :y: ). To these, we welded the Corolla bases.

never had a k motor valve bounce and I have been known to take it off the end of the tacho :y:. Thats 8000rpm.

Get a mate to pump the pedal until it firms up, get him to hold it while you crack the bleed nipple. Air and fluid rush out as mate pushes pedal to floor. Nip up bleed and get mate to take foot off pedal. DO NOT TAKE PRESSURE OFF PEDAL UNTIL BLEED NIPPLE IS DONE UP!!!!!! Repeat until no air comes out. Change sides and repeat. Also keep an eye on the level of fluid in master cylinder as you may/will need to top up as you go.

Don't hit springs with an oxy!!!!!!!!! My old man has done that in the past. You know - sit bolcks under car where you want it to sit, heat springs, watch it go down. Unfortunatly, the first bump that was hit collapsed the springs so the old Holden was on the bump stops. Heat from oxy will kill the heat treatment in the spring and make it useless.

Agree with Jordan on that one. Least I learnt something in my metallurgy course. PS. ran cut springs for 15 years without any problems, part from being illegal I do not have a problem with cut springs. Also if they fall out when the car is jacked up, zip ties are your friend :n:

Ke30 strut tops do not bolt into a 20 :y: They will fit but a shit load of cutting of: a) the strut tops - they are too big to fit in the towers b) the hole in the top of the tower needs to be enlarged to fit the strut top also the bolt pattern is a pooftenth different as well I've did all of this in the past so it is possible.

To fill people in Take one KE10, add one grinder (probably a few beers :wink:) and you end up with a KE5. Half a KE10. Picture a KE10 with no doors, no guards, lights, grill, nothing behind the rear window, etc. Was made to be a motorkhana special but ended up to light and couldn't get traction

Not too many people here would remember that one Rob........ While we are remenising, Batch was going to cut up a KE26 to mid mount a Magna V6 and gear box :wink:

My little "Facet" electric pump used to supply enough for my twins at 8000rpm on my old KE20

Try a bearing supply place or plumbing place to find a gromet the same size. just taske the old one in.

Well, as the title suggests I am now without a Rolla for the first time in 17 years and it feels kinda sad. The old girl was picked up last week after selling on Ebay. What makes it worse is that I think she is going to be stripped of its parts and dumped. Guess another KE20 has gone to the big wreckers in the sky :)
