  1. pics of the car atm.. thermo fans... no pic of the rad but you get the idea... towbar this will get a cleanup.. sandblast and powdercoat. from what i've read these help to stiffen the chassis a bit plus i'll be able to put a bike rack on it.. the primer i used.. cheap but i love it.. good to spray and easy to sand.. and seriously high build. adhesion seems really good too.
  2. well i would've got more done this wkend but this porject took away a lot of my time.. i painted a coaster bus.. just a quick cleanup as the dude had painted it with a roller and brush with house paint.. well here is the bus... took all day but looks a milion times better than it did..
  3. ok so i'm having trouble measuring my wheel well up for wheels.. since i've got the flares i wanna fill the guards out.. i think i can go 15x8-10 in the rear.. its the front i'm thinking i need a positive offset.. so does anyone have some wheels that they know the width and offset of that i can chuck on the car only for a few minutes..?? cheers, Luc
  4. yes tis looking good. spent a few hours sanding the itch tonight.. got 90% of the shell sanded and two doors. 320grit..shit takte ages. pretty straight so far... flares need some attention and thats about it for the moment but i expected that. so all up 3 doors and say 80% of the shell ready for final surfacing primer. also picked up a towbar for it today. yew!!
  5. So today i picked up a radiator with a very nice twin thermo and shroud from a ford laser. Lateish model. Suits my needs perfectly. Also tonight i primed the shell and a few panels. Only boot bonnet and 1 fender weren't ready. Pretty happy with the primer. U pol hs hb. Tis good shit. And from what i was seeing i am quite happy with how straight it is. Few minor areas but overall really good for a first prime. Also hoping to pick up a towbar for it on sunday.
  6. i have one... on another forum they have the original post.. as in the first one repeated in the top of every page.. this is mainly for, sale sections. that way you can still read through wats happening and still be able to see the first post which may or may not be edited. found it quite handy.
  7. not much happened atm the car has been moved back to the workshop and my ke10 has gone to clayton bay. i picked up tyres, a pipe bender for brake and fuel lines, collectors for my extractors. the tyres are 195/50/R15 maxxis i-pro... they are very very sticky... i don't expect them to last long but meh.
  8. pretty sure they have bigger things to worry about rather than the GOR.
  9. you know it could even jst be at the beach somewhere could be anywhere where there is parking.
  10. i dunnu dude. you organise lol.. i don't even know where the belair park is lol. i'll supply the cooking utensils and cooker you sort out the venue. i'll probs bring some steak or perhaps lamb as well.
  11. Go park anywhere i'll bring the webber and gas bottle and cook it in the back of the car
  12. Just get an ae71 thrust bearing.
  13. Should finish it first!
  14. coolies man your doing a bloody good job...
  15. dude i'm watching the dash with a keen eye my early 30 1 piece needs doing badly..
  16. hmmm gonna have to wait till next year... car won't be finished till march... at least she'll schmicky and unique then.
  17. Was my original plan but. The dizzy is too complex for me. It has the cas ignitor and coil all built into the one unit and to separate it all and rewire it was more of a headache. The dizzy mount will more than likely be temporary as i have another idea involving coilonplugs but i can't rely on it working as i only have 2months left. And the dizzy mount will def work and get me moving.
  18. Yeah i've seen it. Looks the goods. There isn't much of an option but to mount it about there unless you modify the oil pickup and change the sump a huge amount. Or mount it heaps high. Or completely change the engine x member. As it is mine looks a little more rearward and its still 30mm further back than a k motor.
  19. thats a great idea.. for me its always hill.. well anything but city driving
  20. nope not stainless jst prebent mandrel bends.
  21. ok so i take the pipes in and the extractors will be waiting a while... quoted $220 for the bends alone and then i have to make em myself.
  22. ok so here are my dummy extractors. tomorrow i'll take this to an exhaust shop and see if and how much to bends the pipes up for me. then i can put it all together. i have 2 collectors on their way should be here next week. they are equal length extractors.
  23. the flake gun was $98 bucks. and i can't tell you how big it can go.. doesn't say anywhere. but i imagine since its a DNA gun you'd be able to do the biggest flake they make.. which is something like 1000microns. sam yeah i will be having a brace.. need to redo my engine mounts first i'll probs integrate it into that.
  24. i modelled it off the standard one.. just straight... and for simplicity.
  25. i reckon it looks horn dude.. perfect. leave em.
