  1. dizzy mount dione pretty happy with it. sump has been cut and shut. so tmoz i'm heading into work to weld the mounts up nicely with gas mig. gonna have the stuff blasted as well. won't powdercoat just yet until i'm 100% sure its all going to work. also need to fix my bell plate.. i stuffed up the cad drawing. the 4e side is off centre. so i'm going to weld the holes up and redrill them where they need to be. pics tomorrow night.
  2. Ok so mounts are done and dizzy mount is half done. Turns out my exhaust manifold needs to be fully custom fabbed. Annoying but at least it'll go along with my 2.5inch zorst system i'm going to build. So tmoz is to finish the dizzy mount. And get started on modding the sump. Then do some bodywork if time permits. But seriously this fab work takes ages!
  3. pics on friday night... so far the bell plate came out wrong. i have to move 4 holes turns out its a bit off centre on the 4e side. dizzy has been modded.. well the housing has been shortened and thats no easy job. stripped 5 doors bare today started doing some body work. turns out the drivers door i bought to replace mine is gonna take huge amounts of work to get striaght... shoulda checked it better when i bought it. sussin another door out tmoz. if its no good then i'll have to get some carbon shrink rods and cross my fingers. tomorrows plan is to sit the engine in the bay ad fab the engine mounts. + do some more body work. then thursday fab up my dizzy mount and do more bodywork.. friday is to head to work and properly weld and powdercoat my mounts and mod the bell plate to suit. soooo. i'm hoping that by friday the bulk of the body work will be done and the engine will be free standing in the bay.
  4. There are pics couple of pages back
  5. Well the flares are all done so i aint gonna redo em.
  6. Also to update. I bought a dry flake gun today. Also primer and so rust gear.. Also ordered my flake should have that by thursday.
  7. Slw... Good thought but would be insanely hard to fit up. The kesev guards as similar in shape jst bigger. Also the cost of the ve panels would be high.
  8. Its solid as. No problems there. I was worried a bit about structural strength but i did a lot of talkin to people in the know and the consensus was that its negligable. So basically i cut the old guard out. Panel beated the shit out of it to make the inner and outer meet again. Drilled a bunch me holes and riveted the two together. Chucked a bit of weld on it as well. Then i welded the arch on. Been driving the car for quite a bit like that and noticed no difference to the handling even on hard cornering. So i'm pretty sure the car is still strong.
  9. Ok so bell plate is almost finished jst gotta have some studs installed and i can bolt it up. So far the car has been 90% stripped. Engine is gone. So panel work will be full steam ahead as of sat. Stay tuned.
  10. planning to paint this beast??
  11. good work tally looking good... but i wonder... don't you plan a conversion for this down the track? if yes then why spend anymore money on the k motor... it'll all be a waste?
  12. Cheers bloke! Me too. Not any big updates. Been workin on my dizzy relocation kit. But yesty i did pick up my bell adaptor and flanges and every thing is accurate and fits so at least my cad skills seem to be good. Car is off the rd as of next thurs so expect some updates coming then.
  13. Stay tuned on this one. Custom paint and some new bit coming. Whiteline rear sway bar and coilovers to name a few.
  14. instead of drilling try and use a lather if you have access to one. guarenteed centre then.
  15. well done man! love the dedication!!! wish i could one day get one of these.

  17. was leisurely pace dude. you woulda been fine.
  18. was good ay... shoulda come along dude.
  19. have a look at little red spirits car he has 205 50 15 in a 15x8 and it looks pretty good... not that stretched at all...
  20. my yeah i'm aware that the body will move.. hence i said 280mm of usable space.. i actually have 300mm total space. yeah i'vethought about the bearing thing as well.. another reason to stick with 8" as far as tyres go a 205/50 15 is pretty much the only size readily available... 205mm is only slightly smaller than an 8" wheel so i wouldn't think the stretch is that bad at all.
  21. nope. won't worry about it. i got told by regency themselves that you can't get track engineered in sa anyways. also its not necessarily a regency defect.. so i will be keeping my standard wheels jst in case.
  22. littleredspirit.. i have the clearance mate i've flaired my guards and i have 280mm of usable space. and the 10" is 257mm ish i believe so thats not a problem. and the wheels are going to be custom built to fit exactly how i want them. the understeer would be a problem but... i do have neg 2.5 deg camber so perhaps that will even it all out? well either way i've been convinced to stick with 8" i can't get a tyre to suit the 10" as it turns out. well perhaps i can but its waaay exxy. so i'll stick with 8" with a 205/50 r15 maxxis mav1 which apparently is not far off being as good as the toyo proxes... and being maxxis i get them at cost price. on a side note.... IF i had coilovers with cambertops i could use my stock rolla arms instead of these sigma ones and then i could run 10" all around.
  23. Dave your makin a point there. But i'm after cornering more than straight line grip.
  24. But in saying that are you telling me that the 8inch will out perform gripwise when cornering compared to a 10. The 10 will allow a wider tyre and give a larger contact area on the rd. So in the twisties which is what i have based my build around the 10 should provide more grip. I'm more than happy to be told otherwise by someone with experience in the matter.
