  1. thanks dude.. yeah the welder was $550 and it awesome can weld as thin a .6mm so perfect for car bodies. i have plans to build an overhead section for the bench including more shelving and a flouro for some direct light.
  2. so i finished drawing up my wheel adaptors.. 4 to 5 stud adaptor. 2 piece total thickness will be 24mm can be made to 20mm as well. these should be perfect for fitting up my 16x7" steelies.! if i can figure how to save a dxf file as an image i'll post it up. .... figured it out.
  3. but stock... stock motor compression.. so perhaps fully built lightened ported.. more compression some trick manifolds etc might get it up closish...? dude in america has done 600hp atw on 35psi with a 4age.
  4. hang on what if the motor has been built as high compression?? say 11.1 with the 7 psi you'd get over 200kw atw i would think... i've seen reports of 20v's on stock compression ans 1 bar seeing 220 atw. so perhaps and fully race prepped engine with higher compression would start getting up there.? reliability would be an issue.. the tune would have to perfection otherwise detonation would occure and bang.!
  5. haven't done too much to this lately.. been working on the daily more.. but i've started designing flares for it... 40mm don't mind the bog.. i' trying out a new method... they do it in the states where you skim the car with a layer of bog.. and sand it back. its working really well. you panel beat the dents. skim it sand back with 40grit and basically in one hit its straight. and i've collected ke20 front end gear for it.
  6. ok so here are some update pics... mounted my boot boards.. need to wrap it all. also some more lights for it.. and here are my pilot lights for my dash.. i have done the CAD drawings for the 4e intake, exhaust, and bell adaptor plate. will have that stuff next week.. drawings are at the laser cutters. on a side note i bought a new welder.. and proceeded to go nuts building stuff. built a bench for the workshop and a welding trolly.. on wheels so its easy to move..

  8. would be good if you could modify the g/box to have an ignition activated soleniod... so if no key then no movy movy... i have ideas ticking over in my head... you could have the soleniod lock the gear.
  9. well they are cut so they will be much stiffer than stock so yeah probably will work well. the less amount of coils you have the stiffer it is.
  10. pedders comfort gas... i find that on hard cornering if the rd is bumpy the car becomes very unpredictable.. i believe a stiffer shock and softer springs coupled with a fatter custom sway bar.. will allow it to still sit nice and flat and 'ride' the bumps instead of going over them. mine is bumpy and i love it.. but on a road car i would not go any harder my missus gets n the car and complains it hurts her tits. by having your soft shock this will make handling worse and the shock won't have the correct valving so your sring is doing the work.
  11. def don't go 8kg ish on a daily.. thats mega mega stiff you'll probs get sick of it.. mine at the front are probs close to 5kg and its real bumpy..
  12. fair enough i'll edit my post... i'm considering the idea of making some arms... cad draw them get them cut and milled.. only thing i can't do atm is the taper... if i can find someone to do this then i may make em. are you sure.. about filing the hole? i got reemed on toymods for the idea... perhaps re drill it a bit lower so you can fit the dowel back in?

  14. haha yeah.. i freaked out a mate 24 yrs old roof tiler and doing weight since he was 16.. i've always been like that.. i can do big short bursts. but my mates can out do me in reps.. still freaks my mates out when i don't do weights.. which i haven't for a year or 2 now and i can still get under it and do 2 sets of 12 at 65kg.
  15. lol when i was 16.. and doing this shit all the time. as well as BMXicaning i weighed 65kg and i could do 2 reps of 85kg. but i could do 3-4 sets of 20 at 65kg.
  16. correct... lol not only you though. lots of people do it. even worse is '2 pac'. i do work with the stuff almost every day so its just one of those irritations!
  17. i was going to do that to my steering arms... well i did do it to my stock ones.. filed em out. but... i was told by toymods members and my local pedders shop who i am good mates with that it was a silly and dodgy idea.

  20. well as for the laser cutting i thought DXF is all you need? they cutter converts it to whatever he needs to use it? i can probs get my mate to find autocad for me. but turbo cad works well so far. bear in mind i've had no training or anything. i'm winging my way through it and self teaching. and from what i've heard autocad is a lot harder to use.

  23. Hey jst wondering if anyone has something they would like drawn up into a DXF file. I've procurred Turbo CAD and i've so far designed an inlet manifold flanges and the first half of a bellhousing adaptor. i am wanting to try a few more things out. let me know! cheers, Luc
  24. yeah ok... be different if your not worried about 1500 for a g/box then maybe look at a cosworth.. same sorta mods to fit as any other engine but a whole lot more worth it. as for parts the 4age is much more supported than the mx5 motor and factory produce more power.. but seriously in a ke10 anything apart from a k motor is going to be a bitch.. also the g/box whether it a 5 speed or 6 speed is massively long. the shifter will end up where the handbrake is supposed to be.
  25. you can get longer LCA's camber tops and get the strut bent... i used mx62 cressida struts and with ra65 arms i ended up with +2.5 degrees camber. scrub radius is ok. i got sigma LCA's in and it brought me back to -.5 but i reckon with cambertops like the otomoto ones and coilovers i could use the stock arms and offset the camber plate to achieve neg camber again. but yes the xt130 will be good.. there is a thread on toymods somewhere which compares struts... i think is was ta22 struts will actually give neg camber to start with.
