  4. well no pics of damage its faint so none of my cameras can get a good shot. so update... strut plates are getting laser cut very soon. jst waiting for the order. i have the tube... ordered the rosejoints half nuts etc. also now my electrical bugs are sorted and i finally got around to wiring in my reverse lights. Yeww. some more fab work stuff coming.. looking at inner fender braces very similar to what kesevs get. should be good. but probs a while away. the next project for the car is a new dash with guages and stuff.
  5. and so this morning i realised my rear brake parkers and liscence plate lights all werent' working. so i thought.. i'll change the unit back and swap the stalk only. and same thing was happening that originally was. upon messing around it worked out of no where. i was like wtf. so i inspected the plugs. the plug on the unit was fine. the body loom plug had a problem. one of the earthing wires had slipped back.. i pushed it forward with some pliers and PRESTO!! everything works again as it should. yay. something so freaking simple.. but yet so hard to find.
  6. well it turns out it worked. i switched over another unit from a late ke30. and i have everything working. but have now lost dash lights and horn. horn will probs jst be from when i but the boss back on. dash lights i have no idea. anyways i'm now on the hunt for an early 30 unit so that way i know the wiring is 100%correct.. but for the moment its working and i'm stoked. when i said both sides were acting different that was caused by the blown bulb i believe.
  7. well i discussed this problem with my mechanic and he recons its the switch. i'm gonna try another switch that i know that works and see how we go.

  11. not since i've owned it. Tally had it before me and he doesn't know what happened... nickyboy may know or may not. ok so RB is labelled earth on the plug and that goes to the relay. RY is labelled Drive on the plug and that goes to the dipper switch. RG is labelled Pass on the plug and that also goes to the dipper switch.
  12. yeah an interesting thing. i have an early dash and when you turn normal beams on the high beam light comes on in the dash... pretty sure thats not supposed to happen? so i'm think the RG wire might have something to do with it?
  13. if its lost earth then wouldn't the high beams not work as well?

  16. i would install a relay anyway it allows a better power source to the starter and may or may not fix the problem. there is write up on how to do it i'll try and find it for you
  17. congrats on the RWC glad we don't have that in SA. although i'll be voluntarily taking mine over the pits early next year. the suede will go yellow very quickly if you don't protect it from the sun. unless you got uber expensive stuff. i had suede on my last one.
  18. ok so i fiddled around with a test light and checked the bulbs. one was busted so i put new one in and still the same problem. so i hook up the light to the battery earth. and poke around. the headlight connector have markings on them. earth, pass, & drive. when the headlights are switched to ON. i get a light on ALL 3 on the drivers side. and on the passenger side Earth and Pass Light up. then when high beams are flicked on i get Earth and Pass on both.? why would the earth one light up? does anyone have a test light and a ke30 nearby? can you please tell me what you get on yours?

  20. check my rides thread. those door trims cost approx $60 to make. a roof lining is cheap i got quoted $100 to get that don't at a trimmer but that wasn't installed. Brand new moulded carpet was $180 i think. front seat are early honda prelude cost me $50. Rear seat it stock but untorn. jst gonna vinyl spray the bottom half black to match... was free for the untorn seat. you can do interior pretty cheap. but no way are you gonna rebuild the motor paint the car and do the interior for $800

  22. yeah it has to be wiring cos i changed the headlights over + new bulbs and made no difference.
  23. i don't own a soldering iron.. so for the money of an iron i could just get a test light ay?
  24. well i'm thinking that there must be a break in the wires somwhere. but i seriouslt can't be f@$ked pulling it all apart. any one got a multi meter? that way i can make sure
  25. ignition barrel. when they get old the create more resistance. so the voltage drop is too high. can be fixed by adding a relay in there using the ignition as a trigger only. had to do this to my old ke55 as it kept doing what your describing. but if the starter is old it could be that too. the thing with mine was the starter was brand new.
