  1. haha man cheers,!! so work is still continueing on this bitch. i've made up tower plates and have purchased steel tube + bronze teflon lined rosejoints, half nuts, and threaded inserts in LH and RH. once the jints and stuff arrive i'll have a strut brace!! yee hah! on the list to do is 1. make a custom dash to suit my guages. will be trimmed in quiliting to tie in with the rest of the interior. 2.change the alternator to an internally regulated one as mine is external and its getting noisy. 3. once i've found bearing part numbers i will give my diff a complete overhaul cos that also is getting noisy. then concentrate on the 4e conversion. get my mounts made and g/box adaptor plate made up. measure up the tailshaft and get that done. i'm aiming to get the covnersion done over x mas. i'm gonna give myself 3 weeks to do it. should be enough. preparation is the key. cheers, luc
  2. Hey all I'm after the part numbers for bearings and seals etc to rebuild my diff. i don't have a spare diff to pull down to find the numbers either. cheers, Luc
  3. if you have a compressor and the space. i would invest in some garnet and a gravity fed garnet gun. sandblast the engine bay. much mcuh easier and your guarenteed a clean sureface for the paint to stick to. not to mention it can get into all the nooks and krannies and clean all your rust off.
  4. lawl i've organised one and it was epic failure.. so i'm leaving this to someone else. a mixture of windy rds and cruising is good. most cruises seem to head north as the northeners don't seem to be bothered travelling south.
  5. so since me and the missus both own rollas... i decided to do this. kinda got sick of people parking in the driveway and blocking one of us in. also installed the baby seat today! looks good nice and neat and you can't even see the clip its all hidden. nice and secure too. thats all folks for this car.!
  6. lovells, pedders etc. almost anything is better than kings. king springs tend to sag a heck of a lot quicker than most other brands. also the spring rates are only marginally stiffer than stock. pedders are good quality and are quite a bit stiffer. mate used lovells and reckons they are very good.
  7. thats the brand of wheel, completely different thing i think someone's getting a bit defensive about his 'little secret'.
  8. as above but bendix ultimate pads acutually. it pulls up really really well actually. if you don't wear your seat belt your likely to put your head through the windscreen. pedal doesn't throw much at all you just have to adjust your pushrod a bit on the booster. as for locking up... the fronts lock first.. but these coupled with engine breaking you won't need to come anywhere near locking em up. oh and most of this information on what i'm running has been mentioned in this thread already.. i think perhaps twice so this would make 3 times.
  9. jst my opinion but i've driven a KE3x with a twinky like like above.. and i reckon its horrible... for starters no twincam engine. sits too close and is still massive. my opinion. seriously pick a wheel that your comfortable with.. i've had one with a flat bottom i liked it but i much prefer the round woodgrain one i have now.
  10. console idea most likely going to be scrapped. just gonna go for a standard one me thinks. update for today.. fitted a Brand new pajero MC and the brakes feel really really good now. also fitted gh sigma LCA's with new balljoints and urethane bushes. this managed to bring my camber from +2 back to -0.5 degrees.. and my castor from +1.5 to +3 degrees. much happier with the way it performs now. it performed well before but now its better.
  11. haha lol for you more like Cap'n Jack Swallows!!! heh jokes..
  12. apparently your storm is heading our way and will hit in a few hours.. rumours of 100km/hr winds!
  13. every night... after 6 normally.
  14. wats the springy looking thing?
  15. dude don't over do it. seriously its only there to 'catch' the tailshaft if it breaks thats it. it more about the positioning of it. what you have is more than adequate.
  16. farkin good work.. man i wish i had accsess to these machines and the know how!
  17. i'm going to aim for this one!! hopefully the engine conversion will be finished in the daily and it'll be sweet as.!
  18. bit more exxy with a rolla methinks as you need to remove the front and rear windscreens to get em out
  19. you can have the same problems with a high metallic standard basecoat.
  20. more progress is happening but my stupid phone broke so no piccies. BOO to Nokia, Nokia can burn in hell... sick of their unreliable phones.! more bare metalling done.. some panel beating and the first stages of smoothing beaten areas and fixing the roof done. hope to spend some more time on it over the next few arvos and get more of it in primer. lovin it!!
  21. good work. here is my 2c. when it comes to doing cars from the ground up concentrate and knock off one thing at a time. as in stick with body work.. then do suspension.. then do engine then interior or something like that. if you start doing other bits and pieces here and there you can get lost in what your doing and even forget what you have or haven't done.. what needs doing etc. same thing for money spending. get all of your bodywork stuff including paints etcetc. then get all sussy gear and so on. meh jst my 2c.
  22. thats very possible. i'll speak to the panelbeater i know. but with a good clear and plenty of it it'd take a fair whack to scratch whats underneath. but then again painting a car isn't that difficult if you know how.
  23. well at least an opinion why? same diff. my reasoning is that there is no explanation to say its in his opinion it wouldn't look good or for some technical reason that may have some substance.
  24. you can't say something like that and not back it up with some reasoning.
  25. well hit me up for some help ok?? would hate to see another rc member throw away thier KE.
