  1. wow flat front is sooo much sexier!!
  2. shock won't bottom out if you have bumpstops. in there.
  3. well decisions decisions. with my camber issues its quite annoying. i currently have +2 degrees camber and this is due to the cressida strut and ra60 steering arm combo. also i've noticed that i can't go much lower without inducing bumpsteer. so it turns out that RCA's are available. so on the shopping list for the car will be otomoto kits. coilover conversion + camber tops and RCA's i already have short stroke shock absorbers so yeah... ergh $680 later. save save save.!
  4. your idea for the compressor will work just fine. ideally to spray cars you want at least 12cfm. 336L/pm which about 2 supershit auto ones hooked together well close. nothing worse than running out of puff halfway around the car.
  5. 4E FE. bit different but cheers anyways.
  6. jst ring regency and ask 5 minute phone call and then you'll know. eyebrow heights are individual to each car.
  7. should be noted that in sa the lowest legal is 'Eyebrow' height not a lowest point like 100mm.
  8. looks like a very good and tidy base!! and farkin cheap.
  9. fair enough but was that really necessary. like i said in the specs when you look at buying it it doesn't say 'cold start enrichment' didn't realise it was a built in function. other ecu's i've looked at have a specific function relating to cold start. What youve quoted there states the MT series ecu, what about the LT series. Anyway proven wrong cheers, Opens up more avenues in terms of engineering here in sa.
  10. hmm last time i looked at the specs i didn't see 'cold start enrichment' in the feature although i'm more than happy to be corrected. as they are reasonably cheap. but for a little bit more money you could get an EMS stinger which has plenty of features and plenty of support. kinda in between $$$ value.
  11. hmm my engineer says it is here in SA its done cold and warm. meh guess you guys are different states.
  12. i don't see how the mocirtech can pass emissions tests seeing as it doen't have cold start enrichment feature?
  13. microtechs don't have cold start function. which can be a real pain.
  14. awesome ride mate. love these cars and most importantly the engines,! the valve and springs you showed pictures of.. aftermarket? if so why did you move away from the titanium valves these have stock? and also those eyelids where on the earth did you find them?
  15. i would have thought that with a FWD you'd want stiffer springs in the rear? to try and keep the cars's weight down over the front? to provide better traction?
  16. also its really only half a car
  17. have a look at my daily driver thread. i use a clear on base system which is really easy for a beginner. basically you use a 2 pack primer. then a single pack 'basecoat' then a 2 pack clear. rather simple and easy.
  18. bullshit with a bit of porting work and extractors they'll rev to 7000rpm and be making power that high. in stock form they still go to 5600 ish. oh and most stock 4k's won't even get to 5000rpm well i've had 3 now and none of em will comfortably go that high.
  19. jst mod the sump not the x member for the 7k. look at 'gavclassic' he has a ke15 with a 7k. rather easy fit and with some minor mods he's making some good horsepower.
  20. they don't have it black from factory and it looked fine.
  21. yes i believe the head gasket may be a problem i haven't re torqued it yet. but as i said above revs actually doesn't effect the way it heats up it seems more like a lazy thermostat. the reason why i though revs cooled it was because it was an instant reaction to rev it to get the coolant running. but as of the other day i tried it cruising and also now in idle. it does the same thing.
  22. my thoughts too. but ya never know
  23. well i've been watching the guage and my driving today and yesterday. the revs thing actually doesn't come into it anymore. i was cruising and the temp gets 3/4's then drop to half then drops to 2/5's so the revving doesn't affect it.
  24. thats worse running a car dead cold is almost as harmful as running it too hot
  25. coolant yeah i've pulled waterpumps off before. jst trying to avoid that. we'll see how we go. quite a bit more hassle than a thermostat. jst going big to small. the problem could be either thing especially with its behaviour.
