couple of snaps. nice and clean... well no oil and its as pretty as i can be bothered. but looks 100% better than it did.

^^^ yes exactly what i meant hence why i said its only a clip.

it could work if your were to try and get almost all of the ae71 gear in. this way you don't have to mess around with shortening or lengthening anything. the x member will have to be modified so it will bolt to the car. also i would think that there would be quite a hefty track increase? unless ke30 lca's are shorter than kesev/ae71. by using all the ae71 gear i would also assume you wouldn't have to worry about steering geomoetry. which would be good. how about you give it a go? i know a fella that used KE70 everything in a celica to give it rack and pinion and also to have bolt in 4a mounts. but the x member was modified quite a bit.

yeah it is good. ran into my first problemo.. someone before me replaced the pcv valve with a breather filter. and now after a long drive oil is pissing out of the breather ruining my nice clean efforts. so a note to everyone don't replace the pcv valve its there for a reason.. so thats is now fixed. also sparkplug tubes leaked... so they came out and some new 0 rings were put on. re did valve clearances. tried to put eleccy dizzy on failed... so returned to stock again. and.... my low km gearbox is oh so noisy. i have put 125mm worth of nulon into it so far.. perhaps i need to put more in. thats about it... oh and my speedo is waaayyy out. i put the 4speed gear in and yeah... it reads 130kph when i'm actually doing 100!!! eek. lol thats is all. cheers, Luc

then swap the shafts... its only a clip.

perhaps when the engine conversion happens in a few months i'll get ya then if you'll still be keen. update its running and running well. all back together and driving. slight exhaust leak that i'll have to fix but the 5 speed despite being low km the synchros are quite noisy. so i'll probably be buying some newlon?? i think it is... anyways its an additive. can definately tell the difference between the 3k and the 4k. the 4k is revving more happily than the 3k did and the power is notably better. all up pretty happy.
-
t50 speedo drive fit in k boxes so i would assume vise versa. perhap you coulda jst tried that.?
-
its all good man... pretty much i need to set TDC and align dizzy + leads accordingly and put front end panels back on. thats it.... i hope.
-
yeah hell devo. but i gottago to work. batt is on charge. so i'll be back down there at around 4 ish tmozzle. hope to get the bitch fired up. and driving out.
-
i had a cheap one as well a type r and it did the exact same thing. set it to 8 cyl and you'll find that its correct.

taz? i'm confuzzled... i wasn't going to leave it in cos you can't paint around it. the MC is the pajero one. so it kinda just sat there outta the way. so today was a hard day painted the bay in vitrethane 2 pack urethane enamel. this shit is great to work with and is designed to put up with high heat. and has adhesion like nothing else. anways pics. and the 4k is in. so its had a new head gasket and VSS. a good clean and a new rear main oil seal. also has been mated up to a 5 speed with a near new clutch. pics and here jasol (bmxsexmonkey) big thanks for the help. get this guy started ad he works like a man on a mission.

also for the clear get a 6ltr kit. aka 4litre clear. 2 1litr hardeners and thin it out 10% that will be enough. you may get away with buying a 4litre tin of basecoat but its always better to have too much than not enough. -

well the atomic is a clear on base thing. so for the basecoat its quite transluscent. for my 55 we used 3 litres just for the outside. so for inside and out perhaps get 4-5 litres? that will mix up to 8-10litres with the 1:1 mixing ratio. also if you were to use a silver basecoat before it'll cover more easily and make the colour 'Pop' -
cheers man. i do but don't lol. engine was out so why not?? wait a couple of months to see what in store for it later.!! bit of an update on my front suspension,. i used ra40 power steering arms on the mx62 struts. but i put the left one on the right and vice versa. this created a funny angle for the tie rods but once i'd lowered it, i was alright. kinda. this coupled with the camber tops gave me -1.5 degrees camber and quite an increase of track,. last wkend i installed short stroke shocks from a st185 gt4 celica. (made a spacer for the bottom of the strut) and lowered it down again. swapped the steering arms back to how they're meant to be. this provided a much nicer angle for the tie rods and balljoints. but..... even with the cambertops i still now have +2 degrees camber. horrible. so now i'll be getting some skidma control arms to bring this back in check. so for anyone out there i would say stay away from the cressida strut in a ke as a brake upgrade. the kingpin angle is just wrong. unless your gonna run coilovers. cheers, Luc
