  1. so really to get it driving you only need to sort out ignition? its not much is it? paint can come later.
  2. get it done!! lolwats left to do? paint? if thats it jst keep it. sell the fagna and stooge lifts of other people till you get the thing painted... i should be able to help out whenevs now. the baby has settled in quite well.
  3. depends why you want a conversion? to me if you don't mind a diesel and you want reliability cheap running costs and economy and power but don't like new cars much then go for it. also to be different. see i love older cars but new cars bore me to an extreme. so i go for older cars and do em up to be nicer. also swap for a more economical powerful and reliable motor. hence why my daily is getting a 4efe instead of the usual 4age. A: the engine cost f all B: its unusual to RWD convert (and not overly hard) C: more power and economy without enough to do nothing but get me in trouble. D: reliability.

  5. the conversion would be quote expensive and most of this is uncharted territory so quite a lot of one off custom gear needed.

  7. quite large capacity. big an heavy. i would be thinking Volkswagon Golf TDI and rwd convert the motor. quite a bit of hassle but could very well be worth it. huge ecomonmy.. low running costs.. and a decent amount of power.. the conversion could possibly pay for itself in time.
  8. most definately be different... i would say do it just to be different. but what engine in particular would you be thinking? i don't know of an RWD small capacity diesel's

  10. cheers, LOL all i wanna do is paint the thing!! progress tonight. put the urethane on the door inside and out. and also started priming the car. the primer i'm using is a single pack primer from protec. its and etch and an adhesion promoter. more got done after the pics. pretty much all the bare metal surfaces and covered now.
  11. jst for further thought if your spraying and its cold you can by an accelerator which makes the paint dry faster

  14. progress is still happening to this beastie.. colour has been changed. Going with DNA 'dragonfly green candy' lately been trying to sort out rust treatment and proofing for my doors. the corners are very hard to treat. i'm currently doing one door now. i've stripped the paint off of it inside and out! rust converted cleaned rinsed treated again rinsed zinc phosphated rinsed, and tomorrow the paint will go on. its a sealer. and it goes hard with moisture! which is perfect. so provided its sticks and seals then the doors will very nearly never rust again! probs will but ay hopefully not in my lifetime. hopefully finish treating the door tomorrow night and prime the whole thing. cheers, Luc
  15. i got mine made up from a friend at it was $50. a trimmer quoted me $100 for a ke30 roof.

  21. hpw quickly does it come out as in does it get almost full then start leaking? cos if its straight away then its not the HG i would think that the block would have a crack in it then.

  23. you sure its not the coolant drain plug in the block? this could be leaking down the motor making it look like its coming outta the sump
  24. i've never heard of the rule of 9.. but jst say you have number 1 rocking you adjust number 4 and so on..
