  4. no sorry meant all MY paints are solvent based.
  5. anyone know where to look for the ADR's in SA? gambits link doesn't work
  6. yeah there is a dent. there are quite a few dents. i painted this rather quickly i spent as much time on it as i wanted to. i'm basically cleaning it up jst a bit but i didn't want to spends ages on bodywork. so yeah paint is nice but there are dents. meh. lol paints are all solvent based.
  7. i seriously need this car for when i get my license back. and i'm doing things on the cheap!! lol and will do things on the cheap. i've come to realise that my other car is massively long term and as i come to needing parts i will get them then. tackle one thing at a time. for the moment the other car needs fab work. once thats done i will buy the stuff i need for paints. the sussy then engine then interior. so yeah. everything will get done in good time.
  8. yeah 4k + 5 speed and perhaps a supercharger later on.
  9. quads make a rolla look more like a datsun. i agree with both above me.
  10. yeah it is flat. thats the painting system i use. clear on base. works well and you get a good off the gun finish.
  11. and the clear. looks pretty good. going back tmozzle to put the bitch back together and get it home.! will post finished product pics tomorrow. cheers,
  12. ok then came the orange or ignition if you will. ergh pretty tired by now.
  13. haha well here are the pics. its called ignition. first off the silver. boo ya.!
  14. ok so after many hours last night. the car went from this... to being masked and sanded and spot primed. today will be paint day! will update again tonight.
  15. cheers mate.! its a lot ore work i've created but waaayyyy happier with this result.~
  16. ok a little bit of work done. got a ae71 guard and cut the arch out. here is the test fit. its going to look much better this way! ryan has other photos. hope he uploads em.!!
  17. Alrighty tomorrow starts a long process over the weekend.! this puppy is getting painted and a whole bunch of new things put on it!! will post pics as i go!
  18. MX62 cressida brakes . you use the whole strut the corolla spring will fir and the standard spring hat from a corolla. i forget which steering arm you use but SLO 030 can fill in that blank. one problem though. they give you positive camber. but... this can be corrected with cambertops and/or sigma LCA's quite large brakes need a 14" rim minimum to fit. Slotted rotors are available. not much range in shocker though. but the valving in the shocks was designed for a heavier car with a 6 cylinder so the standard shoxk will keep most people happy.
  19. and finally... making a larger opening for a larger radiator. this top section i'm going to make bolt on so its easy to remove if needed. original hole. 440mm i think i can't remember but around that. enlarged to 580mm to fit a sprinter sized radiator. also the hole is a lot more centralised. and capped. don't worry i wire brushed the inside.. only the outside is rusty and the car is going to my work for sandblast in approx 3 weeks anyways. cheers.
  20. more work done. seam welded seat rails. here is another one of my awesome ideas that is gonna make this build take even longer. basically these vents allow alot of water in when raining. there isn't really adequate draining here. so water sits in there and rust from inside out. Big NO NO so i'm shaving them. i'm aware that this provides air to the cabin but... i have a few ideas on how to route air to the cabin a different way.
  21. ok so dry ice is awesome! well worth it makes things very easy! piccies. Here's is random shot of the beast. cheers
  22. there would be a bit of clearance i would think due to the lower compression? either way it will work but.... if your timing belt goes you'll know all about it. oh and lets see a project thread mate!!!
  23. also hoping to get dry ice this week to get rid of all the sound deadening. oh and to help with the stripping i'll be using a gravity feed sand blaster!
  24. Ok i have a biiigggg weekend planned for this puppy. basically strip bare the floor pan inside and out engine bay and boot and prime. i purchased another 4 litre kit of high fill parabuild protec primer. 2 pack. also purched some protec clear. called profile i've worked with it a few times and its really good and quite cheap. also 2 pack. then i think next week end i may paint the KE30 now that i have all the gear.!
  25. i drove this car with the old motor once.. went ok had a horrible idle problem. i hope the new motor does well.
