  1. Clear on base system. @ pack primer. single pack colour then 2 pack clear.
  2. so today i rugged up.... then underbody tarred the underside. put stone guard on the sills and satin paint. adds protection and will allow the chrome to pop a lil more tomorrow will see the body polished and back over to mate up with the chassis.
  3. haha thanks. its been a stressful few months. only to get worse!! So here we have it. Sealer/ground coat basecoat cleared. pretty happy. been fairly rushed so it aint perfect but huge improvements
  4. So Painted stuff. Will wait a couple days then buff it all to a perfect shine. Also acquired a crown oil plate. B&M shifter cable brackets. Idler pulley bearings. Also acquired some front tyres freebies with great tread.
  5. so progress may have seemed to slow down but u guarantee you it hasnt. Got this fender in primer. completely metal finished. Also been rubbing back the body. the epoxy stuff is hard to work. Reprimed it today in regular high fill. Also currently in the process of painting the boot and bonnet topsides. Rubbed down and a tinted sealer applied. This green is quite guttless so added some green to the primer helps with coverage. mind the booth. shop is sooo full right now its become a bit of a storage area. Fully completed one side of the ma70 rear brake upgrade. i'm personally not a fan of the whole thing and will be changing it at a later date to a much simpler and less modified design. Pulled the sump off the 1uz and its as clean down low as it is up top. super happy about that. repaired the sump as well. also have gasket set timing kit and water pump on the way. Also got a box of sound deadening. PING JING. supposedly better than dynamat and half the cost. guess we'll see.
  6. Yeah spinning bearings. Both cases low oil and hard cornering. Since the wide body it corners like u wouldnt believe. There isna fix with an upgraded sump. But I'm ontop of the oil situation and no issues yet. I prefer the extra torque of the 1ZZ if i keep the car then itll get a snail. But considering selling as i have older cars. And as cool as the rolla is it just doesnt have that old school cool factor.
  7. more painting progress plus body shot of the rub down so far. coming up pretty good.
  8. Diff back in to get it all rolling nearly finished with the disc brake setup. has new wheel bearing in it. Also got an LSD lined up now for a great price. Engine mounts boxed and painted. motor back in. motor was bought as an unknown. super happy to see how clean it was underneath its covers.
  9. more rust. driver rear quarter had to reconstruct both skins. unfortunately i didnt take any snaps of the welded bits. and unfortunate but some bog had to go back in it at least its only thin amounts now not inch thick sections. and we have primer. epoxy.
  10. Alrighty. So front end going back together. Painted the radius arms and the centre bearing x member.
  11. top of drivers rear quarter nice and straight. some more suspension arms finished off and disc brake conversion on hilux rear end completed with new bearings and seal. cleaned and painted.
  12. yes it is. Sills are a pain to repair too. metal is normally quite strong. the front drivers fender is the same had a massive dent in the front. there was no attempt at repair. just bogged up. was deeper than the sill was.
  13. flares are cool as. give it a bit of an 'escort' feel.
  14. so more rust. bottom passenger rear quarter. both skins. so cut drill remake and replace. welder is playing up so welds look like ass but its in there still nice and strong. found this in my sill. yaya for dodgy ass repairs. on good note got my bonnet in final coat if high fill so boot and bonnet will see paint very soon.
  15. your right theyre not that bad. just deep and creased. made it a serious pain to repair. i have no problem with bog only when its used in excessive thicknesses like it is here. wait till i throw up pics of my sill panel.
  16. nice. on my zze i have an mr2 short throw shifter its really good the throw is ridiculously short.
  17. well this dent made me angry. was really deep and was bogged up. Steel around the tail light was so thin that as soon as i hit it with a hammer it split. major PITA so before. and afters. with more time i could probably get it perfect but i'm happy enough. then fuel filler rust. cut shit out. decided to remove the cup. made a new piece and got most the way through welding it in. spent a long time beating another large dent in bottom of the same quarter. will post pics later when its done will hopefully finish up with the fuel filler tomorrow.
  18. Thanks guys. alot of long days and nights in this build. hard to believe this has all happened in 1 month. so got the crown body over to my shop. started bare metalling the body and found some things. extra dents i knew nothing about. (full of bog) and some extra rust. photos of rust will be up over next few days. quite a bit of metal work to do. Day one got us that far.
  19. Ma70 rear brake setup acquired for the hilux rear end. Cleaned up the chassis. Used stone guard and some 2 pack gloss black. Was quick and easy and should give some decent protection. Also got into the rust repairs on the doors. Drivers front wasnt bad at all. notice last pic the weld along the bottom. i made a mistake when folding it over. the line didnt match up. so a bead of weld then some grinding and filing to get the line back. Drivers door. as far as i got.
  20. oh yeah and driveshaft has been made.
  21. So to fit the toyota surf booster had to get this spacer plate machined. went from 30mm ish down to about 12mm thick. Here the front end suspension is stripped off. ready to remove the motor motor on a custom made stand. really easy to move around. Fabricated a new trans mount. Bare chassis. Here are some pics of the chassis mods. boxed rails and adding a bit of support. Pics of the engine chassis mounts. We have one more mod to do to the chassis then it'll be cleaned seam sealed and painted.
  22. Thanks Mate. bonnet and boot were bare metalled again no rust just a few dents to sort out. got the dents real close to being metal finished. so a light skim of filler was all that was needed. All sealed up in epoxy, and stripped the dash out. will attempt to repair the cracks and wrap it.
  23. other completed rear door. had to rework it as a friend of mine dropped it. Ergh. body off the chassis. Body on a rolling frame. hopefully have it to my paint shop soon.
  24. Thanks bueno. Only front half is stock. Rear half is with the driveshfat builders now. But it definitelt helped. Taz. Its not the same no but it is similar. I have no name or code for this colour as its completely custom.
