  1. curious about the lean you've put on it.. is the sump level? or is there something i've missed about the mounting that makes it have to lean so far over.?
  2. update... boot frame and bracing almost finished. i have also purchesed so thicker mdf for the floor and big enough to do it in 2 pieces instead of three. but the fuel tank got some loving tonight.. slowly getting there. this section is for the fuel pump making it the lowest point.. inside.... baffles on the side still one more to make for the front this will essentially trap the fuel in the bottom section next step will be cutting the holes for the fuel pump and welding nuts on the inside so the pump will bolt in like a factory setup. then a lid and hole for the fuel sender. then a filler.. long process making a tank. not for the faint hearted.
  3. looking forward to more progress pics if i could subscribe.. or knew how i would.. i hope my build can come close to the quality of the fj20 build. keen to see what else you can do.
  4. thanks man keep reading it get better and better. oh btw everyone.. coilover setup will be coming along soonish..
  5. refer to above post.. pedders.
  6. i agree much better than my previous mounts and far easier to make
  7. they new ones are hj?? landcruiser i think thanks to fnq rolla for the info and pedders.
  8. really?? with my old ford laser rubbers you could physically move the motor from side to side with these one i can't move the sucker at all.
  9. haha yeah smart ass.. ha 75 corolla with fuel injection 4 door elecric windows and aircon... i think that sounds awesome.
  10. fitted up the xmember and mounts was an absolute prick on my own whith trying not to scratch it.. solid as all shit and looks good. will also allow me to run aircon now too!! stoked. cheers.
  11. starting again with the boot.. not rushing anything anymore.. over it. i have another daily so i'm in no rush whatsoever. ok so i took the bracing out.. i then made a frame made it too big so it has now been cut in half. it will be welded in once i finish painting the boot. frame after quite alot of cleaning my boot looked like this. i then proceeded to paint it with a brush.. i could've sprayed it on but this paint is more about function than looks,. it is similar to por15 and it cures with moisture. so its a preventative for further rusting.. thought i'd coat the whole boot in it. once its dry i can put all the wiring in there and finish off the rest of the bits.
  12. i dig it.. looks great... sometimes you gotta be different to stand out and look good.
  13. mounts look good. looking forward to seeing final mounting pics.
  14. quality build i love it. keep the updates coming.
  15. and the mounts and x member are finished finally.. took ages welding grinding welding more. etc etc. looks killer though..
  16. to match your ports better?? great going btw i understand how much work and thought needs to go into this kind of stuff since doing my 4e... at least your conversion will be alot more worth while.. so whats the plan for the starter motor?
  17. dude this is the shit i'm gonna have to come ova and have a personal suss. very keen to see how it goes straight gas.. scott i though k heads already had hardened seats he'll only need a oil drip system or watever its called
  18. jordain on here is currently doing this same conversion.. he had to ditch the 6 speed though too long i believe.. but it does seem to fit with a lot of work.. good luck and keep the pics coming.
  19. +1 to philbeys comment... or perhaps look at t3 website? you could even ask them to make em i believe. if not get friendly with cad or a cnc machinist.
  20. sweet man looks great!! i dig the s15 dash... 200kw on 16psi is a good number bet its a bit of a handful.
  21. aight so engine mounts tacked together and supporting the motor. i had to mod my g/box x member a bit to push it all back further.. the motor is now 30mm further back than it was.. i have the ability to go back further (20mm) but it aint worth it as i'd need to get my tailshaft shortened then i'd need to redo the g/box shifter hole etcetc.. the motor is still now quite a but further back than a k motor and its also a lighter motor methinks.. so still a massive improvement over standard. motor is alops uprighted a bit as oil was pooling in one side of the head.. stock 5e sump is on it now so less chance of oil leaks and more oil to hold. anyway pics.. will be taking this all to work for cleaning up extra bracing and powdercoating.. \ and its nice and low... a smidgen higher than it was but i'm still really happy with it.. the driveline angle is almost striaght..
  22. not about whether it fits i'm sure it does but doesn't it look massive?? as in too much for the car?
  23. jeez man 225/60/15 has a massive rolling diameter.. are you sure it will fit.? toyo do a street leagl semi slick in a 225/45/15 which'll be closer to a good fit..
  24. cheers i just purchased another airbrush and some more stencils so i can try some more stuff. carpetted bottom.. quilted sides and front with downlights and possible metal airbrushed highlights.
  25. can't believe this hasn't been said seeing as we're car enthusiasts.. Christine.... awesome movie and with today CGR it be better...
