  1. where from mate? oh and i find it odd that you can mod the crap outta a stock x memeber but not change to a different one... silly rules.. and same goes for that huge tunnel etcetc.
  2. ah heater demister unit?? you getting a universal one??
  3. i'm wondering why you've gone to the trouble of keeping a ke10 x member? a lot of people say to use a ke20 item shortened or redrilled to bolt up.. get rid of that ugly lower control arm and the transverse leaf. but wow dude you have some fab skills.. i'm wishing i had a sheet metal bender would come in handy!
  4. dash out.. was dreading this but the early 30 dash is sooo much simpler to get out than the 55's stay tuned will be fixing an modding not everyone will like it but still cool.
  5. awesome great work keep it comin!!!
  6. thanks brotato!!! haha yeah showing my old age!!!lol
  7. also for custom swaybars check out selby's i got 2 prices.. 24mm custom bar was 195+12freight and 22mm blade adjustable was 212+12 freight. also btw late 55 and ke38 have 22mm not 21mm
  8. ok so in preparation i stripped the rack down.. for those of you that haven't seen te guts of em this is it.. f all the shaft will be getting shortened proeprly.. i'm doing the outer casing myself.. 70mm is getting taken out.. so pipe cutter came out and i got this far.. will get a v block soon and bevell the edges to weld. left over pipe taken out.
  9. ok as per shopping list post.. warm morning at u pull it.. seats rack and boot struts.. as you can see all this powered by rexona
  10. got two quotes today 150 bucks that's with me shortening the outer casing and them just machining the rack itself down 70 mm and putting the new thread on it. Either way I'll be booking it in tomorrow should have it by end of next week cheering. Also got a good quote on a barina steering column and it came to 195 so all up with new rack end etc etc its costing less than 500 bucks
  11. +1 for robert jorden.. also raymond e fiest julian may anne mc caffery jst to name a few... and shit got better since the missus bought me an e reader!!
  12. also got a Ke70 rack. Did measurements today and rack pivot length came to 620mm and the KE30 lca pivot length is 560mm way to short. So I thought about moving my pivot point out. Nah will stuff around with geometry. So I researched how to shorten a rack. And that's the way I'll be going. Will take the rack to an engineering shop tomorrow and get a quote.
  13. ok so today shopping list was a pair of paseo seats. Will get these retrimmed, they are moore comfy than my prelude seats and are also lighter. Gas boot struts from a vt to do a strut bonnet conversion
  14. thanks mate.. alot of thought goes into this thing much to the dismay of the wife!! ok well here is the attention to detail i'll be doing.. even more.. wiper motor picture this looking like a greasy engine and thats what it looked like.. and then..... BLING!!!
  15. or perhaps add a page to the faq?? and the websites can go there?
  16. mods i believe this should be stickied? or perhaps its own subheading/forum?
  17. ok i think we should have a collection of handy websites. websites that are corolla related engine wise exterior interior etc etc. doesn't necesseraly have to be model specific i could just be a site that sell parts super cheap. http://www.alafuae.c...de=T&catid=T-10
  18. fark me attention to detail much?? seeing all this is making me think more about mine.. do i or don't i? how many hours have you spent doing this stuff so far?
  19. they are light enough.. i used the thinnest gauge i could get. but its the best thing i could come up with.. i could use ali angle.. but i can't tig weld and have no access to one so either wood or steel.. weight isn't an issue either the whole setup is going to end up lighter than before... one less sub a smaller box. no spare wheel well and no spare tyre.
  20. did the new floor. ok so i made 2 of these then placed mdf on it like this then mount amp at this stage i was shitting it thinking crap the tailights aint gonna fit... then... phew it fits just..
  21. yes i've seen the barina ones its the 2000ish model that have em. thats the electric setups that i've been looking at. and by ragtop i mean the ones like a sunroof but vinyl. and it folds up as it goes back.. it essentially takes up the whole roof.. this i'll probably get done by a pro the kits themselves are about $500 plus post. nissan man. i aint heaps. the basis is already there i'm just cleaning it up neatening and refining. the biggest project will be the rack and pinion/power steer. money is the biggest issue but i'm looking at getting a new job soon which pays alot more. this factor will decide how long it takes.
  22. so the missus and i have come to an agreement about this car.. its not hitting the road until i'm 100% happy with it and have it how i want. so these are the things i'm going to change. toyota 5e motor will be built forged. tdo4 turbo. aircon 4 door electric windows electric ragtop. repaint due to shaving the fuel filler. 15x8" steelies coilovers larger front swaybar rack and pinion.. (reseearching power steering.. i can go with the 4e pump etc. but i've been reading about electric power steer columns may go this way as its more efficient.) rebuilt t50 rebuilt borgwarner diff with disc brake conversion and phantom grip lsd finish boot install using new amps looking at paseo seats retrim rears refurbish dash. that jst about do it. lots to do but i have all the time i want now.
  23. awesome great work.. if the drainage works well then it doesn't really matter then ay? on my 4e my original mounts didn't upright the motor enough and oil was pooling on one side of the head and wasn't draining properly. i never got to discover if the effect was detrimental to the motor. now uprighted more but i did have to tilt the gearbpx more. great that every aspect is/has been looked at.
  24. pay me lots... lol this shit takes ages and i aint even halfo way through yet..
  25. and i do believe we need more pics of what you got done to mount the starter.
