  1. Thanks for the info Luke, but I'm over the brake lines, I'm just going to save up some cash and take it to brake store to put on new fittings and atleast get the HELS braided fronts on, the rears will need to be replaced but at the moment it's next to impossible to source only rear braided lines. lol no, I worded that badly - it pops up but doesn't come down, I'll have a play with it and see if it will work, worst case I'll replace the drive motor. One of the the front shockies, it bounces on one side, I think driver-side from memory (I do have the old shockies still)
  2. Thanks, the one I have isn't a FIA 6 pole switch type, I'll do a simple install off the positive or negative terminal as suggested.
  3. Thanks Trev, the car is running really well, no leaks, no smoke, boosting low... it has a miss on idle but I'm thinking that just might be tuning. I'm wondering what else do I need for RWC? so far on my list: 2 x new tyers 2 x sunvisors horn working fixed popup head light 1 x shockie (I wonder how hard this is to do and if I could do it at home) brake lines attended to How's your supercharged beast going?
  4. I'm having a couple of issues now that I didn't have about a month before, one headlight is not retracting and the radiator fan isn't kicking in. Also the temp gauge doesn't work - keeps saying the engine is at optimum temperature when it isn't. Getting closer to RWC!
  5. Update :) A small video I quickly put together showing the car and a bit of working being done. and some recent photos :)
  6. Hey, is it ok to set up the kill switch directly to the battery terminals - does anyone have a simple diagram that shows hwo to do it? My kill switch has the wires already running to it and it's off a European car freshly imported into the country. Also would that suffice for something like club rallying?
  7. I had a big night working on the car, bleed the brakes - I made a DIY one person bleeding setup from clear hose and sports drink bottle. I iinstalled the dual horns inbetween the radiator and intercooler on a couple of brackets I made up, I installed the EP82 full size (thin) radiator, though I'm not happy with it as it gets really hot from the exhaust manifold and turbo - I might grab one of those half size thick core ones from ebay. The intercooler piping is pushing the the lower bumper(?) splitter out but about 2cm's so I have a couple of ideas to try tomorrow to make it fit nice and snug. All in all a good productive day, at one stage the whole front end was back on and looking nearly 100% I'll post some progress pics tomorrow.
  8. Share the link Andrew! I wonder what goodies I could order :) P.S: If you need close up of the original GP Turbo stickers let me know. nerfbat, hwo did your copies turn out?
  9. Looks good Andrew, what colour are you going to go with? RE: Stickers, I was looking too, but couldn't find anything, you might have to get them custom made.
  10. Hey Andrew, RE: Coilovers, I haven't purchased them yet, I was going to buy EP82 from Manon Racing Products in New Zealand (Barry Manon). I've only heard good things about them (I wish I was getting paid to say that!) and RE: Brake lines, I WRONGLY purchased EP71 HELS lines, which are only 4 lines, we need 6 lines as our rears have 2 lines, once again the EP82 'looks' the same, but i'm not 100% sure. Brake lines are banjo's at the rear, same as the EP82 and not the EP71 HELS kit who doesn't come with any banjos. Progress: washer bottle back in and plugged up, I found the original horn and alarm so i'm installing them, pulled the radiator and intercooler out to make it a bit easier. I could only put on one HELS Brake line on the front drivers side, on the passenger side - the tube is slightly bent so the fitting can't come off, I'm trying to work out how to bend it without damaging it with my very limited tools I have access to. Speaking of tools, I ordered a brake spanner set from super cheap using a gift card, I was advised that the shop I was suppose to pick up the iteams from didn't have them in stock, so supercheap said they'll mail them free of charge - awesome right? - it took over a month for them to arrive - not cool. - Moral of the story - it's best to go to the store rather then wait. Furthermore, when they did arrive, the spanner set didn't have a size 10 - which is what I was waiting for, anyhow..... I might go work the boxing bag...
  11. Glad to hear that your baby made it home safely, thanks for posting the pics of your car, their really motivating :) (and the other pics from Russia!)
  12. A little up date, I order some tools in order to work on the brake line fittings, I'm waiting for these to arrive so I can stop mangalating brake parts. I would have loved to do some weilding classes in tafe or school, I'm really envious of you guys who have access to full work shops and tools!
  13. lol, I'm trying to win lotto so I can do it :P I've had a look into it, basically the driveshaft would fit down the middle of the car where the exhaust is, then just need to shift that over, setup a independent rear end....hmmm Glad to hear your beast is on its way, I thought you'll like the 4AGTE EP71, I was thinking that some aftermarket ECU's have traction control now, I wonder if that would help to power down. At the end of the day the whole setup depends on what the driver is building the car for, that FWD EP71 seems like it's crazy boost for straight line times. I'm over due for an update on Maxi, but I need to actually do some work on him!
  14. Height - arn't your coilovers adjustable? stupid question, can't you just increase the height? Steering wheel / seat is no biggy if you have the originals lying around. Damn annoying to have no car tho. - legally drivable car I mean ;)
  15. wtf? wouldn't it be easy enough to make it road worthy by slapping on the orginal parts and redoing the RWC check?
  16. You don't rally in the rain? I guess the cars are old and susestible to getting rust easily :P lol (joking) Luke check this thread out: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/63083-brisbane-and-motorsport/
  17. That was a great read Keith, I just read the whole lot from start to finish and learnt that I do not possess the mechanical knowledge, know-how and talent to build a rally car! Wow - Steve is one lucky man to have you to help him wih his car! All the best for the up coming rally season and if you guys ever come upto to QLD I'll love to come and watch you race.
  18. I might give it a go, thanks for advice! It's not really something you want to get wrong tho, as in brake failure. Stupid question, can you buy the lines at your local hardware store?
  19. You look like your running a professional racing team! the cars look great. Can I ask, what kind of bottom chin spoiler is that? Also, are they CSA 15" rims?
  20. Hey Guys, Does anyone have any experience in making your own brake lines? I'm in the process of putting on braided lines on my Corolla and the fittings are basically seized onto the pipes/tubes so in the process of attempting to undo the connections I ruined the fittings. In my research I found a whole bunch of videos of people doing all their own brake lines, mainly on hot-rods and muscle cars. It appears everything that's required can be purchased for approx $30.00 to $50.00 - which is a brake line flaring kit and a brake line bender. Has anyone had any success doing their own brake lines? Cheers, Tom.
  21. I saw those banged up ones and I've been searching for those and the WRC Turismo's, amazing score - I'm jealous! :)
  22. That's the dream build - box Lancia Delta Intergrale guards, AWD GT4 setup, 3SGTE pumping out 320KW, stripped out and strengthened completely custom. Now to win lotto OR If anyone wants to sponsor me? ;) If your wondering would this even be possible? and how would it look like? here is a little youtube clip of something very very close to what I would love to achieve:
  23. lol that's what I thought!!! - I'll take this any day over a FT86 This is on par with some greatest conversions I've seen (including a v12 Cobra with a giant wing - youtube it) Freakin awesome
