Last two photos from Part Two - FMIC fitment Note: longer brackets made to drop the intercooler down so the piping can fit nicely in. Now all I need is the reducers from 3" to 2.5" and can finally plumb it all up!

Part 2 - Front Mount Intercooler So back up on the axle stands to fit the FMIC (Front Mount InterCooler) (Before this was done, the whole aircon system was pulled out to make way for the intercooler) Front bumper off Dummy fitting the intercooler - damn thing is huge but where there is a will there is a way! Brackets made out of alloy Another test fit Trimmed the bottom radiator support Then slipped whilst cutting and put a nice gash in the radiator which meant out goes the nice fat half size radiator for the extremely thin Starlet GT radiator Starlet GT radiator in place Found when moving the intercooler near the radiator a bit of cardboard can protect the little fins on both. Check out how thin it is! haven't put in the radiator fan as yet. I made this bottom bracket for the radiator, crazy bend but now the radiator doesn't move at all My cat inspecting my work and making sure I'm finished for the night so he can be fed :) Front bar on and everything fits in place Fits in nicely after the trimming

Hey guys as promised - here is my major update - two parts: 1st Suspension, 2nd Front Mount Intercooler. KYB Shockies with lower and harder springs. Up on stands, wheels off and ready for some work Check out the difference between rear shockies Rear shockies on Front shockies on (Two days after spraying WD40 on the bolts to loosen them enough, with assitance from with a Hammer. Top of the shockies seemed to accept the TEMS My trusty tools Changed the strut bar to the GT Starlet one from the GP one, no real reason beside novelty Check out the front and rear wheels both off the ground with only one Axle stand in place. End result, much lower all round and stiffer suspension

Wgmg slipping with the angle grinder and leaving a nice gash in my radiator ..... fail.

So apparently the disc i was using is only for ceramics.... Ha! Ohwell ...another thing learnt :) I'm glad I'm motivating you.... i rely on you to motivate me lol so get in that shed.

lol i do more practice as my disc blew up in my face... its cool cutting and molding the car but the question in mind remains...."am i improving or destroying performance and how is this going to affect it under load"

I don't know what's wrong with me lately, i left the radiator cap off overheating the car a couple of weeks back ... now i didn't do up the oil cap securely so i just dumped oil all over the engine....my mind isn't on the job at hand... Last night while angle grinding the grinder torqued in my hand and sent hot metal shards all over the place when the disc disintegrated, thankfully i had eye and hand protection on so didn't hurt myself. I think I'm getting all my bad luck out all at once.

I don't get how wanting to improve a cars braking performance, handling, power delivery is such a bad thing; the rules should be basic, if you: Increase power than increase braking and suspension etc

This is why I'm building my rolla, for events like this and tarmac rallies, this would be some great experience. Come on guys we need some one to do us proud.... :)

I think i blew the head gasket on the Astra... now its got a rough idle on start up when cold ... Start up is laboured...loosing coolant, overheating.. Now i have two broken cars ;(

Attention has been diverted to my Astra it's overheating and sucking down over a litre of coolant a week... Needs a major service too timing belt and no doubt water pump replaced. I think the job is a little bit over my head?? Wish i could do it myself to save some money
