  1. drifters seem to prefer ke70/ae71 corollas... ae86 sprinters...so performance parts are plentiful for them... marvis' ra65 celica in queensland is also an interesting car..
  2. probably should put this in the for sale section :D
  3. hope you guys are having fun!
  4. On the flip side, I have had nothing but excellent service from him. Maybe things have changed?
  5. I got a second hand door lock recoded to my existing key for Mr Hanky and I was stung $40.. well it felt like a sting... next time I will do a little shopping around rather than just drop in to the local. Imagine what they would sting you since that was just for an AE71 ;)
  6. www.importmonster.com.au makes it really easy and i would rate his service highly.. sometimes the shipping is a killer, but that is the way it works from japan. www.rinkya.com is another service i have used. they always felt like they had their hand out for another fee and another charge, but were also good to deal with lots of people rate jesse streeter but i have never used his service
  7. Cool basis for a project club car  Your tie down approach on the trailer is er um... novel!!
  8. whats the width of the s13 rear end compared with the corolla. comparing wheel track, not a perfect science since wheel offset plays a part, but gives some idea, shows the track of the corolla at 1405mm and the s13 at 1461 so 56mm or 28mm a side wider. thats quite a bit wider, but probably not the end of the world. shortening everything (arms, driveshafts, cross member) would be a nightmare if you couldnt accomodate that extra width
  9. for beginners - how about all the mounts/mounting points and chassis reinforcing to fit an independent rear end into a car that runs a live rear axle. not sure why you would bother with a little ke70. spend your money on a decent live axle rear end and spend your money some where better!
  10. First post and advertising a commercial service. Thanks for visiting
  11. My left hand one did the same thing. I changed the wires around in the connector, using the original as a guide, and it was all good.
  12. When you do your steam cleaning, make sure you rent the upholstery hand piece. I saw someone suggest on another forum to hire one for the day and get a few mates together to split the cost. Smart idea I reckon. Engine bay isn't too bad and no real oil leaks to speak of, just needs a quick clean to make it presentable. I am Oakleigh way.
  13. $38.60 for the recoding which I thought was pretty hefty, but I hadn't shopped around. Lock was cheap as it was in a whole bundle of stuff I got from the wreckers for $10.
  14. $118 delivered, from seller bangkokparts
  15. Mr Hanky had bad tail lights with the lens trying to escape. I was hoping to find some nice second hand ones but it wasn't happening for me, so I bit the bullet and bought some new ones from one of the thai guys on ebay. They are good, and come with the lamp holders which always appear to all be crap on australian cars. The wiring connector one of them was all ass about, but I used the old as a comparison base and moved the terminals in the plug and it all works, no smoke getting out :P They look good! In the last week I also replaced all the missing vacuum lines, and now the auto choke seems to work. Not sure it turns off though! Its spaghetti in there!!! Last but not least, the drivers door lock was mangled from a slide hammer, and the door was a bit bent around the lock. Took a lock off a xt130 corona at centre rd cos I couldn't find a corolla one. Got it re-coded to suit Mr Hanky and fitted it. Works perfectly :y: Next step, degrease the engine bay, a wash and RWC inspection!
  16. do a search and you will find all you need to know. it may well be in the knowledge base / faq too
  17. suede will end up looking shite faster than a normal leather one. the combination of sweat from your hands, along with any grease you might have around etc quickly makes the suede mat together and look worn pretty quick suede will wear faster too, but depends whether you are racing it / drifting it or driving it to the shops as to how fast that will be :P
  18. maybe we should split up and try and cover the field :jamie: still getting grief about going... not only is it valentines day but its also the st kilda festival... which to me means steer well clear of the farken place but apparently i have it all wrong in my approacH!
  19. the ta22 brakes will be a little bigger, but not significantly. the ta22 struts don't have many options for good inserts either. the brakes on the end of the xt130 strut are significantly bigger, and you then get the bonus of a wider range of struts inserts available to you. you will possibly need 15 inch wheels and tyres, or at the very least 14 inch with the right offset, if you got to xt130, so its probably a more expensive option.
  20. Did you hit yourself in the head with the steering wheel when pulling it off? If not you aren't doing it right for your first time, its a rite of passage :S
  21. Koni don't make an insert to suit a KE55 housing either unfortunately. Hence why people sometimes look at the Corona XT130 strut/brake upgrade.
  22. If a man was thinking of coming down just for a day trip when would be the best day do you reckon? the beach day?
  23. Very cool, even if its blurry ;)
  24. Dodgy shock that only becomes noticeable when its loaded maybe? Thats just a guess. If its only happening when there is extra load on the car its a weird one..
  25. Still had the struts in it today too. Not sure if LCA's were there.
