You were 5 mins away from my place Josh! That road sees a few old Corollas on there. Did the beige flat front have a set of spot lights on the front? Because he gets around.

That colour will look awesome on the panno guys! Hats off to both of you for doing such a good job :y: :y: Very eager to see it with the clear coat on too.

I can understand your point Jay, at least it will make people think twice about ruining such a nice car to make it something it wasnt meant to be. -

That immaculate ke30 was advertised on carsales, it was sitting in a garage for 15 years untouched in the condition its in now. The owner serviced it and brought it up to a roadworthy standard. (This was in the carsales ad). Hopefully someone with sence will buy it enjoy it and leave it as it is. The price was around the current asking preice from memory give or take.. But what elludes me is, why would you pay so much money on that particualar car which is so original and clean only to ruin by making a project out of it which will look pox like some which have been in the past. If they have so much money to waste, buy a knackered out one and go nuts making it something that it shouldnt have been. -
Nice pick up mate :y: preety rare colour thats on there currently. Its known as big bad orange and is preety crazy when its polished or repainted to bring out the shine.

I'll see what I can do :y:

Destroyer Nothing on my ke had been touched. I'm 110% sure all se spec 82 ke70s had s series diffs fitted from them factory. When detailing under my ke I thought it shouldve had a borgie, but no. After poking around all the bolting points it had all the original red check marks from toyota which coinsided with the markings on the front suspension/steering assy too. Since making this observation, I have counted 6 ke70s both in manual and auto with this diff. This was a diff in an se down at the wreckers in January.
-
Spot on mate, S Series jap diffs were fitted to flatfront ke70 se sedans built built before 1983. Borgwarner diffs were fitted to cs and xx models. Ke70 panelvans however were fitted with s series leaf spung diffs from the factory. Previous ae71 diff was a borgwarner. These have the backing plate. My ke70 s series diff.

No worries at all, these ke70s have so many little variations according to trims levels it spins you round. Yeah if your lucky a motor trimmer can always restitch that pannel if the actual stitching has undone. Otherwise if the vinyl is acutally cracked then a new panel will need to be put in. I just recently had the front seat bases done on mine, filled with new foam too. Oh so comfy  Just scroll down for more pics. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/24805-bens-ke70/page__st__345

Welcome mate, I remember seeing this in just cars or one of those specialist car mags. Nice little purchase indeed, whats the condition of the interior like? More pics are in order :y: Being an se and pre Hi cam model, take a pic of the diff to see if its an s series or a borg warner. Every 82 model including my 134km orginal have the s series diff :y:

Happy birthday mate! :) how much longer till your off the P's?

So you opted to go with the CSi lenses over the nova units :hmm: Csi ones are more pleasing to look at compare to the series one units that were on your car. Atleast they wont fade! **Perhaps** pull apart the ones which were on the car previously and see how you go with the dying process. When I took my tail lights out to clean the recess they mount in, I noticed the black backing of the tail light housing where the looms go into has 2 or 3 phillips head screws and maybe small clips so the acutal lens can come off in one go. (This is on the series 2 CSi lights. And put some pics up too

No worries mate :y:  I don't know why people can't leave other peoples property alone. Put up a new thread on the ke if you can.
-
They're just ke55 mirrors, the profile is much more round compare to the original types fitted to early model ke70s. I had a pair colour matched in white on my ke70, took them off and put the originals on. :y:

Few more for some ideas..

Well most poeple with the ke70s/71 seem to rip off the stripes and rubbers like no tomorrow, so there is no real differentiation between them as they look plain Jane.. A simple pinstripe on its own, or moulding or both really set it off if its done properly. And if its fresh as your doing, its bound to really improve the apprearance and originality of your ke. Just a few pics of mine. The previous red ae71 I had was finished with gold stripes, being old and worn I replaced them with fresh ones and the difference was instant! The actual pinstripes along the belt line were on already. If they weren't I would've put them regardless. I added the Corolla decals after a sign writer made them up, finished in the exact colour as the striping.

Hi Trent, welcome to rollaclub. I have recently bought an ae92 hatch back 5 speed with the 4afe so your questions have generated some looking for me to do. But i like things standard  So are you running any muffler at the back at all?? As running even a small capacity muffler may be able create a little bit of back pressure for some more oomph. In my opinion, with or with out the pod wouldnt make a bigger difference of a 4afe. Maybe the sound factor though. Provided the runs are consistant and accurate, i.e correct size wheels and tyres and getting a passneger to clock the speeds would establish a real performance time. But really 9.5 secs from a 4afe with a pod and no muffler is preety damn good as an SX 4age seca does it 9.38 secs. One from my collection.

Nice work :y: :y: 15" is the ideal size for aesthetics and maintaining a good ride without sacrificing comfort. A little lower and its set! Glad to hear you cleaned under the trim too.
-
I'm with Dave on this one, BUT don't tint your tail lights as it may be illegal.I do have a solution though, look for a 1981 to 1991 Holden Nova (Series one) as they will have the same profile tail lights but are naturally tinted from factory to differentiate from the Corollas  And that black trim that clips below the base of the rear window, pop it off and wash it out under there. The accumilation of dirt causes these tail gates to rust :y:
-
My ae71 was same colour like that and came up beautiful after a good cut and polish, and like yours it died prematurely. But you do appreciate something which is a little more modern for a daily. Keep up the good work mate.
-
Bingo, so it was smashed after all. I could only see the rear of it from the large gates where there dropped off.

Hi Lucas, welcome to rollaclub. :) This is the wrong section mate, you need to create a wanted to buy thread if your after parts :y: Also type your state, contact number and specifically what your after.
