After putting the new radiator in, filling it and the coolant bottle to the correct levels and the heater on the "hot" position so the valve is open did you run the car for 15-20 mins with the rad cap off to bleed the system of air? Blow by will happen when the motor is running, best to do it while its off :y:
-
Thats a yellow 1979 sedan, 4 door. Its a manual but without lifting the bonnet the motor appeared to have dropped and the gearbox was hanging unsupported underneath the car. But overall it looked like an original car.

Colour and trim is JC-UE-HA. Its called centre red, you can get a pressure pack from colour matched from autobarn for $30.00 Did the rust repair sections on mine and was okay. Only the finish was like a saturn. Just ask for gloss.

You'll notice a bit of a difference. My manual ae71 ran that ratio and driving on 100km/h the tacho was sitting on 2,900. Happy medium :) You should bring it down Sunday :y:

Nice one guys, hope to see all three at cars, coffee and donuts this sunday! Venetian looks tops

Too good Jake! If my old red one came up Mickey Mouse this should pull it off too, no excuses. Is there any rips/tears in the drivers seat? Because the other seats look like they could do with a good wash. With a few swings of a socket and theyre out. Pity you get this when I was parting out my 71, had a perfect original Spirit interior and same colour plastics which I sold off. Anyway, you seem to do things the right way and I'm sure it will come out great guns! Venetian, spirit wing.... win!

Unfortunatley its not possible, once those cars go in thats it. The best thing would be to just chop out the actual sections that are needed and work from there.
-
Thats a stunner right there :y: , thought it was mine for a sec! Bargain for the price, look after her mate :)

It has a vic rego label, do you know any of its history? The bathurst mags and the plain ke front is what was on an identical panel van that belonged to Mr Radiator in Greensborough.

Mr Cozzo, :P Yes I was deliberating about the single band stripe along the beltline of the car and I have a picture of it too. Also I have seen one identical on the road like mine with the single band and theres something missing. Then not long after I saw another with this type of graphic that got me going. The thing is when i'll do this, i'll lay the tri colour stripes down first - possibly leave it for a bit but i'll put on the graphics anyway. Dan, all the equipment I had for the AE71 is gone. The pity was no body wanted the proper bootlid with the spoiler, so I ended up separating it. There are reproductions floating around as there is a growing demand for them though :y: It was a head turner for what it was, compare to how I bought it. I saved it from the knackery then and got some time out of it. It was just purely daily transport, so if there was a crunch that was going to happen, that was the car which was going to get it. Not the ke70. The new beast is a good little car, small, comfy, common, cheap and zippy. But with anything you need to do some little mods to suit.

Bjay is the new name for the ke due to his reg being BJH... I havent posted that before. Anyway way, Few more :) And thanks Josh, they wouldnt make a bad picture for a t shirt would they :P When the cosmetic tasks have been completed on the 92', I'll lay down some stripes as I posted on the previous page... Now over a few evenings on the weekends I was doodling with an other idea acually of putting some decals on as well as the stripes. So I went into paint and mocked up a few images until I hit the nail on the head. (Keep in mind those funky designs and colours of the 90s!) Yes a squiggle, starting from an aqua which transitions into a silver as the ribbons length increases. The colours on this image are an idea, what I picked on the colour chart was more on the trail.

Did some phoning around today for some paint, 1 litre quantity in 2 pac. Already have the hardener. The ae92 that I bought a few months back needs some cosmetic work done on it. Thanks to Aaron (Agius) who is on here, he gave me a good lead to a windscreen bloke who can replace my blasted windscreen and install a new one with a new rubber seal. (Similiar seal to the vt commodores) as far looks wise. I have paid attention to a few with this seal and its what Toyota should've put on instead of those dirt collecting, and water trapping fiddly trims :n: :n: Atleast these sit flush, and do what they should do - seal. I previously snapped a few shots of the ke, and had a play around with the colour/contrasts in some program that I found by suprise on the computer.

Nice little ke70, preety clean and straight and the kms on it :o Where abouts do you live in Melbourne? You and your mate with the white pictured should come along to a few meets :) Look after her :y:

I recall reading somewhere about the 4afe head substituting a afc, it may be possible however you'd have to block up the injector ports to make it possible. Time and money wise its just not worth it, I saw an add on gumtree in Melb which had an ae92 for sale and under the bonnet on the 4afc was extractors. Its a matter of looking and you'll find them, OR buying an efi set of extractors, blaking the sensor outlet and welding it in place.

I'd like to see a rides thread about this van! Dad had one a few years back, was a good van till the end after many miles it travelled. Actually, Does yours have the rear seats in it, and velour carpet in the front cab section, if so it may be the "wagon" model which was a little more swish than the base model. Got some pics of mine in my thread..

Even if you got the ae82 twin cam you'll need to learn how to drive a manual though. And from a few posts back you mentioned this was a bit of an issue. Just go for and ae94 or 96 RV or Ultima seca. 1.8, automatic, electric everything(on the ultima anyway) RV is a little more standard but it will suit you a little better.

As long as your okay thats what counts :). Its aggrivating when it happens to such a nice car though. Clearly she has no clue let alone a leg to stand on. It seems to be cosmetic damage which should be a big relief as its only bolt on panels which can be replaced. The rad support with a bit of heat and a pull it will be fine.

Just remove a rocker cover from a later model ke30, possibly from 1978. Or ke55 from 1979 as they may have the same number of outlets for breather hoses like your original has, with the only difference being the cap screws in as the rocker cover has a thread for it :y:

This event should be titled the Gumball rally, knowing the suspects who are doing this, there is no doubt they'll make it up there quick enough! Rip off your rear mirror because what behind you is not important. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTT1_JZp2Sg&feature=related

CS-X tagging was part of the series two ke70s aka (Slant front). Says so in my sales brochure and from the hand full of ke's ive seen. Slant from ke70 csx, hi cam badge is *just* noticable on the front guard moulding. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php/26871-the-chickenfeed-hooker

Hi Connor, Yes attention to detail has been a thing of mine and the ke70 was the perfect candidate for it. As much as I like cars, I don't see the point of pouring money into them no matter how good they'll look as you'll never get your money back. And originality is usually outnumbered when it comes to enthusiats of this model of Corolla. Yep, the red ae71 got twisted on the last day of Jan this year. I bought it as a shabby $200 Corolla and brought it up to scratch body wise, before it was decided to repaint it but thats when the acident happened. I had it manual converted as it was a pleasure to drive, really effortless. The side impact it got was enough to turn the centre bearing from a circle into an oval.. preety tough little car. Thanks again Connor :)

I'll come and have a gawk, theres nothing like a Crispy Cressida  I may even bring the 92' so they can meet and greet  Really though look after it and the 55, *enjoy responsibly*

Haha cheers Jake :) Its ready, just needs a tad of body work done while I have the windscreen out, so that should be within the month. As much as I want bring this out I think the boys will prefer the ke which is a good reason for me to take it out! But I can change my mind

This is only from the top of my head Jesse. I bought the clutch master cyl from repco for $92.00 I think. Clutch slave possibly around the $60.00 mark give or take from Repco too.. And the flexi line was from a parts place called ABS, may be up your neck of the woods and that was $45.00 as it was custom made due to them not stocking that type of hose.
