  1. When was that? Chase me down next time ;) Spotted a clean ke20 rolling through Frankston today. Blood orange with a visor and whitewalls, I tooted and smiled!.
  2. So, as I'm hopeless with metal and have nothing I can use to try to fabricate some.. I'd love to enlist the help of any Rollaclub member in the Melbourne area. I'm aftersomeone who can help build an air cleaner for my car. I'm looking to have it fit over the standard base for the air cleaner, however it needs to be 3 1/4" in height with two 3" outlets (which i shall measure out for correct positioning) to extend out maybe 1" from the sides of the air cleaner. If you're keen/have the skills to do this, please, call me on 0411177359 or pm me and i can take some measurements and we can work something out with money/beer :) Thanks, Sam
  3. Anyone in Melbourne who is good at making stuff outta metal? Idea is, use bottom of existing air cleaner and get a custom made top for it (to sit exactly over the bottom plate), raised high enough to have two, yes, two 3" outlets welded on from either side, to run a 3" pipe along the stock air cleaner route as well as heading in the opposite direction next to the battery. Idea is to run a higher quality air filter in it and with two lots of air sucking in, should improve airflow dramatically :) Really keen to get it done asap :) Even if using second hand materials and payment may be a case of beer or cash, depending what you'd prefer :) EDIT: Not taking credit for idea, was discussed with TroysRollaSX and his mates on Good Friday. Got it stuck in my head and now I'm sure it's the best option :)
  4. Cheers dude :) Ill have a look-see, I do need front seats but the wreckers have a 50% off right now, so i gotta figure out what fits with no mods into my car first.. Okay. Decided on a CAI setup. Plumb the stuff attached to the air cleaner, then a 90degree bent pipe from carb to 3 or 4" pipe, running to an airbox I will mount, face forward (nearish to the back of the battery). From there, I'll cut the front of the airbox and run another length of pipe (maybe 6 inches long) facing slightly downward to suck up the air. Ill try to do a drawing and put it up soon ;) SHOULD have a big increase in airflow with minimal bends and a heap of room to suck fresh air.
  5. People in small toy-wheel-drives who have come straight out of a sedan or wagon and do NOT realize that their headlights are HIGHER, therefore REFLECT INTO THE BACK OF PEOPLES CARS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE TAILGATING AND THEIR HEADLIGHTS ARE SHINING BRIGHTER AND FURTHER THAN MINE... Really.. Did my rather subtle brake check NOT wake you up the first time? the second one, in which i actually applied brake pressure didnt even seem to get your attention, I know what did tho.. When the poh-lice following you saw you tailgating and pulled you over.
  6. Waking up without an erection.. Twas a sad, sad morning. Serious note - people who like to hound me on the road, sitting right up my arse all the way simply because my little car has red p's and their car, which today was a soarer with some serious dish, has ten times the power, they think they can sit on my bumper the whole way down the road and every time I adjust my speed accordingly (to traffic conditions) i get them creeping closer, revving the tits off their car. Back the f@$k off next time or your insurer will be paying for the back of my car, dick..
  7. Went to the wreckers to get some piping, came home empty handed as i'm not sure how to go about the air intake, looking simply at the amount of stuff bolted/plumbed to the bottom section of the air filter housing on it currently.. Hmm... Suggestions?
  8. Well, I'm happy to invest money in my car and do things properly (not cutting springs etc) as I plan on keeping it for a while. I'm keen as mustard to give it some street appeal, but don't want it to draw unnecessary attention from the 5-0. I love my car, hence why it is important for me to keep it from defection.
  9. Carby. Going to hunt for a air cleaner that faces the opposite direction and set it up with some piping from the wreckers, heaps of room above the gearbox for a fair amount of air to suck through nicely. Original parcel shelf will have a cardboard copy traced from it and then simply cut it to a close shape with a jigsaw, then round the curves off with a good sand. Should come up tops, ill be posting a 'how to' once ive done it  I'm happy with the price because the mechanic said he should be able to get his hands on some konis, and if so, I'm rapt. If I decide to buy kingies, I can get them off ebay for 300 posted. I wish I had an area to do it all. My problem is space.. Garage is set up for cabinet making, not working on cars. Having a driveway on an angle is annoying enough.. :bash: Pics will be up soon, let me get some stuff done to it first :laff: Another idea.. I'm a real ideas man.. Mount the washer bottle somewhere else and shove a big f@$koff airbox in its place..
  10. Thinking of modding an intake from an EB Falcon, the piping is a lot bigger than what I'm using and looks to me like it could fit with a reverse mount ;) Bass was probably not the word I was looking for, more a midrange punch. Will be looking into that when I upgrade the speakers, for now they are $20 ones that I'm happy to abuse the crap out of. My mechanic reckons he'll do it all for me (with me there to help/learn) for just over $1100, not going to complain about that. Haha, parcel shelf will help to lower it on the cheap ;) plus it'll be a nice sound deadener too  for now though, main focus is the parcel shelf and custom CAI. May get rid of the box under the stock intake mouth (guessing charcoal canister is there?). Just want an arseload more air and a parcel shelf that doesn't rattle, plus might do extractors before lowering. Power is a bigger issue than ride height for now (till Dad can pay me back the $600 he owes me).
  11. Thanks :) Good to see some more AE's on the site, giving the KE's a run for their money ;) The exhaust was $198 fitted, 2" from the CAT back, into a sports muffler and the 2" tip covered by a VT SS tip, makes people have a second look, that's for sure ;) Update: Over the Easter break, uni has a week off, my missus is away at her Dad's place in Rye and I have some time to myself, so Bucket going to be played with ;) Going to fashion up a CAI, just not sure how i'll make it all work, but I will. (Appreciate ANY input) Next will be a custom parcel shelf, 25mm mdf for extra bass response from the speakers in it and the sub underneath. Also going to flush the coolant, I want my coolant to be green, not brown.. Was at my mechanics shop yesterday for a little while, had a decent chat, he reckons that 1.5" all round will look good, but probably cost me 800 or so for springs and shocks plus labour, mind you, I'm willing to pay for his quality of work  Also looking at a set of extractors. Grab some from a later model rolla and simply chop the wiring off the o2 sensor and bolt them up :laff:
  12. Cute as :) Took the best bits from both of you and made something you wont ever stop being amazed by
  13. The beige/brown one? Yeah, they looked clean as. When I saw it, interior was intact minus rear seat. Looked in good nick, too.
  14. Don't worry mate, not trying to say you will be a knob on the road, simply making sure that you understand that a license is a huge responsibility. Took you five times to get it, sure as hell wouldn't want to lose it after all that time and money. :)
  15. Nah, ain't Dad's fault, not angry at him at all, he's stuck in this position because he spent a huge period of time in hospital last year unpaid and got into copious levels of debt (lived on the credit card). He'll pay me back in a few months, but I feel sorry for the position he's in with the divorce mum and him are going through all his illnesses. I love my old man and I know that he appreciates what we all do at home.
  16. Congratulations on obtaining your license, now PLEASE, as a fellow restricted licensee I understand the urge to fang and be a knob and have some fun, but just make sure you drive like a nana if you want to remain both licensed AND alive. I've lost two mates in the past 12 months to careless driving, being idiots, having 'fun'. The funerals were not so fun. Be as moronic as you like on a race track in controlled conditions, but please drive like you're happy to do the speed limit, take corners at the correct speed and NOT tear burnouts, drift, perform keybangers and basically draw attention to yourself. P's stand for 'pick on me', which the police will, so be good, pretend they are ALWAYS watching, keeps you from being stupid. Goodluck to you in your (hopefully) lengthy driving career :y:
  17. ASUS These stupid people whom I sent my 30 day old laptop to for a fix under warranty was knocked back as it was "potentially not their fault" that a hardware component pooped itself... I am furious as they quoted me 500 for them to fix it. Told them to send it back, will let my brother fix it instead, then go back to JB where I paid 120 for an extended warranty and tell them to shove it... means nothing.. On top of this.. Had to give dad $600 of my savings (I'm a uni student who works part time for between 10 and 20 an hour depending on deliveries...) to pay his overdraw on the credit card, leaving me with a total of $30 to last me across a phone bill, a gym payment and if I don't get paid in time, maybe even insurance. f@$k. Hmm.. Decisions decisions.. Defer uni for rest of semester and work two jobs or somehow sell some things (xbox etc) and get through... Feel ready to break down.. :bash:
  18. Sad update: Dad's car got broken into last night.. Nothing stolen, but they managed to leave the interior light on and killed the battery. They covered my car in some sort of alcoholic substance and left their rubbish all over the front lawn... So a 5:30am wakeup to take Dad to work, then an hour to clean my car and the front lawn. Once I'm home from uni, have to jumpstart the Commodore and check that all they did was f@$k the battery.. Fun.
  19. Awesome pics mate, love the lowered look ;) Alright, done deal, BUT, I may be wanting to know how you went about the custom parcel shelf in return
  20. Check out my rides thread and let me know if you're still keen, we can organize a time to switch them over to have a look-see ;)
  21. In Mitcham eh? If you want to test-fit some 15's, let me know, we'll try mine on your car and see how they look ;) 'I'm in Croydon' :)
  22. Idea: Whilst laying in hospital today, came up with an idea.. Source an intake from a commodore or falcon, widen the top of it and mount it to the end of my air filter. More air isn't a bad thing, right? (sorry if I'm not making a heap of sense, rather doped up on painkillers). EDIT: Somewhat like the SS induction kits. If that doesn't work, maybe extend the piping and mount a second air filter lower to the ground, behind the front lip.
  23. Doesn't sound too bad, I get an hourly rate, a delivery rate (same as yours) plus all tips are mine. Can clear $200 between Fri-Sun when we have a decent number of deliveries. WGMG: Spending half the day in a hospital bed... :|
  24. Yeah, that's what I plan on doing in a month or two, or perhaps when I get the car lowered (whenever the hell I can afford it, no space to do at home, so have to pay somebody else, potentially safer that way) I figure I should work on handling and drive-ability for now, as a potential engine conversion is three years off (still on my P's). Might have a scrounge around for a better air intake I can mount up to the factory air filter, see if it makes a difference, maybe some induction noise :laff:
  25. cannot remember for the life of me :( However, I have 195's on the front and 185's on the rear, handles like it's on rails. Could do with swaybar on the front though and a strut brace.
