  1. Having to wait til Saturday to pick up the latest addition to the Corolla family at home, it seems to be forever away right now.. Want to get stuck into this project right now :( On the upside - Spoke to a young guy at Autobarn today, happens to be on this site and has a ke20 :) Always good to know young blokes locally with a similar passion
  2. :lolcry: LOVE IT! Showed the other half, she gave me the 'you're not getting any if you think it's funny' look..
  3. Haha nice try :) But she's gunna be a good build, love the 2 doors :)
  4. Work out a price and if it's all good, I'm in :)
  5. Brakes need bleeding and it's not worth taking the risk, especially on the freeway.
  6. Hey guys :) So, just put a deposit on a ke30 coupe :D Now.. I has me a little issue here.. I need to get it from Cairnlea to Croydon (around 60km, depending which way you go). So, it's a 120km round trip to collect and return to my house. I don't have any way to get it here. So my question to you fellow corolla enthusiasts is.. Can anybody here (for the cost of the fuel used plus a little extra) tow it home for me? Would need to use your vehicle and a car trailer. OTHERWISE - Anyone recommend a good priced tow service? Thanks, Sam :)
  7. Cheers dude :) NEWS! Deposit paid for a KE30 Corolla 2 Door :) no rust, jellybeans, clean interior. Hopefully pick it up on the weekend :laff:
  8. Well, the ke30 I went and saw was worth less than a fart in a jar (smelled like one too!). Rust in every pillar, sill, arch and panel, was like swiss cheese.. Offered him $50, he laughed and told me I was dreaming.. I pointed out what was wrong with it and he wasn't impressed that i'd spotted all the bog covering the untreated rust holes.. ON THE LOOK OUT FOR A FAIRLY RUST FREE KE COROLLA IN MELBOURNE!
  9. Haha, the 30 was immaculate and the kesev wasn't bad for a tissue box either :laff:
  10. Off to look at a K series tomorrow, hopefully will be in my possession in under 48hours :) Price is right too!
  11. Such an awesome base for a project! Whitewall, lower, surfboard on top and cruise ;)
  12. Slanty front kesev AND a blue ke30 in the parking lot at pick a part kilsyth :)
  13. Got swimming goggles? The suction ones that fit tight on your eyes, are great for stopping ANYTHING getting in your eyes. Trick is to wash your face afterwards with them still on, then when you take them off, nothing gets in your eyes :) Grouse progress mate!
  14. I've been told by exhaust shops that the fe exhaust mani was different to that of the fc, so it's not a direct bolt on.. Otherwise I'd buy them already from ebay and do it myself.
  15. Haha, I've got some plastic sheeting to fit over the spark plugs and dizzy :). Anything I can do to make the wash easier? what be the do's and don't's of cleaning an engine? May paint some stuff tomorrow, if I can be bothered. Question.. If I put a 4afe head on the 4afc, would I be able to mount the carby back on? I'd do this swap simply so I could put extractors on bucket as the afc head doesn't have any pre-made headers.
  16. Update: New alternator in and working a treat :) Might be buying a pressure washer over the weekend and ill clean the f@$k out of the engine bay to try pinpoint the oil leak.
  17. Find a screw or bolt and plumb it for the night. You fill that hole temporarily so it doesn't go boom till you can have a squizz at it?
  18. Go Boy :) Cute as man, just remember, don't be silly, wrap your willy! :D
  19. They've gone mad  My alternator playing up. Once that is fixed it's final, no more work to the car other than petrol getting pumped into it until it goes up for sale.
  20. Possibly the best thing on a long drive, or for those times when you just want to feel like a real man, sucking your coffee instead of drinking it :)
  21. I think I can get my hands on one fairly easily, so will have a crack in the next week or so :)
  22. I like the look of it in stock form :) This size rim I find is ideal for handling, as the extra width gives you a much more sure-footed feel going into corners (may help having Goodyear F1's on the front). Wouldn't go back to a standard rim size, but be prepared for a little road noise. Ahh ;) Even a cheap sports system like mine has a nice note down low, and would sure as hell sound nice on a more ballsy engine :)
  23. :D You've really got your shit sorted with this car man. Love the ideas :) I went down the route of 15's, they're not a bad rim size, but if you like bling, go an inch or two bigger. Mine have nice on-road capabilities being 15x7 rather than stock 14, hold on to anything :) This model didn't come with the power windows? :hmm: How big a system would you go with exhaust? 2 1/4" cat back?
  24. Clean as! Not sure which one I like better.. That said, Troy took me for a spin and it was fairly brutal ;) Plans?
  25. It's a continual flickering. I've taken amp cable off and it doesn't change anything, is only a small gauge amp cable and the battery is in good condition. Maybe it's the altenator? Flickering lessens slightly as I apply throttle? It's bugging me now to a point where night driving is a pain. The Pintara seems like a good all-round car for my needs, however I'm still a grand short in liquidity so it may be one of those things I'll be scraping every last cent for.
