  1. I don't think so as your still running boost the only difference is where its coming from but i'd check on that with an auto elec before you start the work just to make sure :D
  2. If you and your mate know what your doing and get stuck into it then i don't see why you couldnt do it in a weekend Most of it would be just un-bolting and re bolting. The time consuming parts would be fabbing the dump pipe and your I/C piping Happy to help :D
  3. You would definatly pushing to get it done for under 1k unless you can do pretty much all of it yourself Yes the std ecu will work but probably not to 30psi, 15 maybe For a half descent 2nd hand or rebuilt turbo (t25 or t28) you would be looking at aroud $500 plus a cast manifold will cost you another $250 (keep away from stainless) Steampipe would cost even more. And you will no doubt have to at least alter your pipework and then you have dump pipe etc and then you have to get it tuned I think if you sourced the parts yourself and then got someone else to install everything you would be knocking on the door of $2000
  4. If turbo is the way you want to go then that would definatly be the way to start If you are running standard internals i beleive the 4AGZE can handle up to 14psi but if you want to go furthur than that you should be thinking about a full rebuild with much stronger internals You should still notice a fair bit if difference with the turbo over the S/C anyway
  5. A 4AGTE doesnt actually exist, it is usually reffered to as that when someone replaces the supercharger on a 4AGZE with a turbo
  6. That looks good Dan Nice to see you with another older rolla, I like the meshies too Should call it Mello Yello FTW
  7. Hey Guys I was thinking it might be a nice idea to meet up in a kinda central location for a BBQ and a basic get together for basically a great day out Lane cove national park offers a range of BBQ areas large and small with plenty of space for a game of footy or cricket or whatever takes your fancy and also some nice areas for some photos At this stage i'm looking for interest so i know how big an area to book It will basically be BYO meat & drinks with familys welcome and a chance to get out again before the chill of winter hits I'm thinking at this stage late April but if i get some ideas of when people are keen then i will set a date in stone and its probably better to be a Sunday as most people either work or play sport but once again let me know I will get my wife to post up some pics of the area as well as some contact info for myself (so its a bit better organised than the photo day..... My fault :laff: ) I think it could be a great day for everyone so lets get it organised :lolcry: Cheers - Andrew
  8. This is a 3 page thread about a car that hasnt even been bought yet...... This thread is worthless with pics
  9. The KE30 has 114.3 stud pattern already :laff:
  10. A stock 4ac should still go better than a 4k with an exhaust and a weber If you through a decent amount of coin at the 4k then it would out perform but i reckon you would need to spend over $1000 to get it there with things like cam grind, head work, elec ignition, weber, extractors, exhaust But if you are going to be keen for a 4age conversion down the track then $500 1s a pretty cheap starting package to get everything you need in the car already When you do want to upgrade, all you will need to do is remove the 4ac, Bolt straight in the 4age, wire up your ecu and upgrade your fuel delivery system the odd minor thing here and there and your away Simple :y:
  11. You havent specified what car you have but i can only assume you have a Ke70 (correct me if i'm wrong) In my opinion it would be a much better option to get the 4ac package for that price as you'll then be going from 1.3 to a 1.6 and as many people have said before "You can't compete with capacity" Besides if you get this setup in there and down the track you have the itch for more power then you can simply bolt in a 4age or ze I hope that helps :y:
  12. Its looking good mate, I like that colour Should look pretty sweet once its all done
  13. Agreed, I would prefer to preserve my 34 year old car which is getting harder to get parts for than "slide it to it's death" :y:
  14. If you were to do it you would be better off using a 5k Go from a 1.2 - 1.5l instead of 1.2 - 1.3l And from what i have been told there is quite a noticable difference Hope that helps :y:
  15. Looks like it doesnt have any tyres :y:
  16. I love corollas too and i am also 6foot and not a skinny fellow (far from it) My experience is with ke30-55s and what i have discovered that as long as you have a coupe with longer doors, its not too much of an issue. I have a coupe which i am building and quite comfortable to get in and out of and fine while I'm in it where as the 55 sedan i have is a squeeze getting in and out (due to the shorter doors) but fine once I'm in it (aftermarket steering wheel doesnt exactly help though) I can only imagine it will be a similar situation for the 20s but best bet would be to find one or someone that has one and see how you go I hope that helps :)
  17. I knew watcha meant Mitch :)
  18. Mine :) I don't think its 'Cheezball'
  19. Hey Luc Can you PM me the details for your contact for the CAS cover, That thing looks awesome :) Cheers - Andrew
  20. I'll definatly be there but i might have to tie a rope around your bumper to keep up :|
  21. So in your opinion would the 4AGZE ECU work fine or is he better off getting the standard ecu? And by low boost yes i meant 8-10psi
  22. Hey Guys I know someone (and no its not me ,i've already thought about this and gone 20v instead Jono  ) who is wanting to run a std bigport 4AGE with a turbo and was wanting to know if a 4AGZE ecu can be programmed or even just used in the interim to run a low boost application? Even if it will get the thing running for him until he gets an aftermarket down the track Also if they have a knock sensor? Any and all help is appreciated Cheers - Andrew :y:
  23. That was just an example, even a SR20de non turbo puts out around the same kw with more torque being the 2L once again engineerable power and then add the turbo version if you wanted and shitloads more hp and torque
