Finally put my 4k into the project car yesterday And after a lot of f%&king around (rewiring the starter and alternator) we finally got it started at about 7pm All thats left to do is - Install manual pedal box - Cut shifter hole further forward - top up g/box oil and bolt on shifter - put dash back together - put radiator back in and top up - put bonnet back on - re-install exhaust - add fuel & ENJOY Of course i still have to do - bodywork, respray, interior, suspension, wheels, stereo etc etc

Firstly welcome to rollaclub I'm pretty new myself and all the people on here are fantastically helpful generally providing you do a bit of research yourself first If your unsure of anything. try and find another thread that has possibly covered the topic first - if no luck then start a new topic and people will be more than happy to help In answer to your engine upgrade question I used to have a 1991 corolla which should be pretty much identical to what you have and they had a 4a motor of some description If this is what you have then you have plenty of bolt in options which are a fantastic improvement 4age 100kw - n/a fuel injected twin cam 1.6l 4age20v - n/a quad throttle body 20 valve 1.6l 4agze - supercharged twin cam 1.6l and other variations like 4agte which i beleive is a 4agze with the supercharger changed to a turbo If your on your 'p' plates you should check your local roadway authority and see what your engine restrictions are before you do anything too drastic I hope that was helpful to at least get you started Welcome to the wonderful world of rollas......err i mean novas haha :lolcry:

I am halfway through a manual conversion on a ke35 I am trying to pull the pedal box out of a KE55 :yes: the bolts seem to be in akward spots Do i need to remove the dash or can it be done without doing that YOUR URGENT HELP IS APPRECIATED

How much did that speedo and tacho cost? In particular the tacho - that 's off tha hook!!!!! :yes:

Thanks for that guys, that makes me feel a lot better - I thought i might be up for some serious $$$$ I'll make sure i take care in replacing them so as not to overtighten

I just aquired a 4K engine which is currently running a bit rough so i thought i would pull out the spark plugs for a look see When i unscrewed the plug, the sleeve/surround came out with it Is this normal? If not does it need to be fixed? How? And also, i want to get a good set of plugs to suit the engine specs as far as i know it has standard internals except for the cam, twin dellortos & extractors Any reccomendations for plugs would be appretiated Cheers - Andrew

Took out my centre console today in prep for the 4spd manual conversion from the 2spd auto VERY excited to take my rolla for a proper rap!! :dance:

Another change in plans for now - back to the 4K upgrade!!! I managed to purchase a KE55 from the for sale section and am going to put the engine out of that into mine It is a 4K with twin carbs, cam, extractors and exhaust The car also has a lot of panels and parts i need which mine is lacking/need replacing Can't wait to get the car up here from melbourne as i haven't actually seen it yet(only photos and what my mum has seen) Gunna tear into it this weekend & try to get some progress happening I'll keep ya posted :dance:

I quite like the wheels for stocko's aswell I used to have a set just like them on an old sprinter i had

Thanks for the comments guys I have a slight change of plan for the engine though :abuse: Now i plan to run a turbo 3K similar to one i saw described on another thread I've found a 32/36 weber to run as a blowthrough setup and also found a K & N Plenum/Hat for the weber so i don't need to fabricate a custom box. Has anyone used one of these Plenums before? Do they work well?
