*Update* went to a farm while on holidays and the first wrecked car we saw was an XT130 corona ;) so now I'm in possesion of a set of struts brakes and lower control arms pics to come soon. The corolla has been in daily mode with my dad driving it to work daily but it will become in my driving possesion in a month :) off earning some holiday money at work so then some more time and effort will be put in because speedway is over for a few months so the rolla might have a few tricks up its sleeve
  7. thats the philosophy of junior sedans now if you could give u s a pic of what the car sits like , size of the race track you race on , diff ratio and tyre sizes i might be able to help you.
  8. i have never herd of a corodded inlet manifold thats strange but you must keep a standard aisin carby on the car other wise it is illegal which is stated in the rule book if you have one. The cars in Wa have had no problems with the fire wall crushing anyones feet except for a direct head on into the wall once . the idea or a restrictor plate would be good on the charades but the corollas have a bad enough deal as it is trying to keep up to OHC and FWD charades
  9. Hi i race juniors in Wa. You can reset the leaf springs just not cut and weld the mounts. the way you have described the springs sounds normal to me sounds just like the way our cars are setup. But what may be your issue is tyre sizing, stagger and tyre pressure. Does the car have lowered springs in the front of the car?
  10. I wish i lived closer i would go i would love to take my racecar down for a run and my daily driver for a comparison maybe when i get my license ;)
  11. well here is the story i was passing 2 cars on the outside and i got a tap on the left hand side which sent me spinning into one car and that bent the front bar and snapped the spoiler and smashed the corner of the bonnet and the car pivoted on the left front and did a 360 degree snip and the left front dug in and popped the tyre off the bead which caused my 3rd DNF ever. Then the rear end damage was from i spun by myself on the last corner of the last lap of the next race :P and i got T-Boned in the left hand 1/4 panel and did a 180 degree spin anbd i drove 2 the finish line. The first race i got 2nd place after a great race with my brother (i beat him but ;) ) and the feature race was uneventful and i finished 5th so it was a pretty crappy night except for the 2nd in the first race. Dan this is my original shell from when i started 2 years ago it will come out fine my dads a panelbeater :y: . the open diff and gearbox ratios is great it eliminates alot of the crap at state title scrutineering.
  12. yeah the 1st race was damage free that was fun but the other 2 where i got my damage were wild rides but this is the 1st big damage i have had for ages the bonnet is 1/2 patched up and we have started on the back end ;)
  13. As some of you may know i race junior sedans speedway. Here are a few pictures from the results of last nite my poor corolla got hammered :P good old race tape holding my bonnet together ;) with the front damage i popped the tyre off the bead and bent the bar up also but that was fixable at the track we have to race next weekend to so i will show a before and after results later this week Lappy

  15. whoa thats tiny Bunbury is 530 you would need a 3.7 , 3.9 or 4.1 for geraldton

great work i know your pain when i did my front corner of my sill panel i made it 1 piece and it took about 2 hours. Well done and keep up the good work ;)
  17. but how many metres is gearaldton speedway?
  18. we ran a 4.5 which is what you need down here with our big tracks like bunbury, collie, margaret river, narrogin and kwinana. a 3.7 is what you would have needed for the state title but we havent been able to get a hold of one yet.
  19. well we just alternate between bunbury and collie basically till late april
  20. Thanks mate which car was yours? We had an unlucky run we qualified 6th for the B-main and the top 4 after the b main go into the amain to round the feild p to 20 cars i was sittin 5th in the b-main with about 10 laps to go and i got spun out by another car and they never put on the yellow lights and i never got my spot back so i had to join on to the rear and i fought my way back to 9th so that decision cost us going into the A-Main which was our goal. For anyone with an intrest here are the results of the state title night 1 results night 2 results
  21. Just to let anyone who cares or is interested the state title is on this weekend we are sendin down both of our cars in Lapworth racing we will b 2 of the 61 cars nominated i'll let you guys know how we go and hopefully another corolla win that has been the trend for the last few years
  22. i handy item to have also is if you have a spare buggered tail shaft is to take out the univesal joint to the front yoke and just keep the yoke then once you take out the tailshaft in the car you quickly insert the your spare yoke and you lose none to very lttle gear box oil then once the gear bok is back in you just take out the yoke and insert the cars tail shaft just a habdy tip 2 save gearbox oil
  23. most Ke70's in australia have Borg Warner diffs in them because they are australian built and didnt have to import the diffs from japan when they are made in japan they are fitted with a banjo diff i had a ke70 import from japan that also had a U series 3.9 in it
  24. oooh spagetti fun are you going to keep it efi or covery to carby?
  25. lappy replied to lappy's topic in Rollaclub Rides
the damage wasnt too bad but the guy i hit the back end of his car is a write off the track was fine till the track grade and they graded the track and watered it and then they thought hey lets send the juniors out the kids with the least experience and least amount of grip on 1st and we went round turn 1+2 fine then came ino 3+4 and no one had control and abt 7 ploughed into the fence including me then they cleared the track and guess what the same thing happened again so yeah my car and my bros car are at the panel beaters on a car o liner to pull the chassis straight. It was ashame because i had got 2nd place in the 3 prievious races out of 20 cars and qualified 3rd out of 20 for the feature owell fixem uo and back to margret river in 2 week for our state title
