Custom Built 4k Upright Motor Fitting
lappy replied to [email protected]'s topic in Engine Conversions
If you could find a TIG welder and a bandsaw you could cut the bellhousing with a bandsaw then reweld it back on at the desired angle that is what i would do then you keep the shifter and crossmember standard. -

I spotted a light blue T-18 that looked like it had been done up and had a turbo whistle in Wanneroo yesterday arvo looked like a sweet ride

KE30 3K, Hot, Wild Cammed Engine Pro's: 70's styling Awesome speedway cars Good on fuel and handle as a road car Easy mechanicals for aspiring teenagers After being restored old people look and smile at my car Has more character than some new car your parents buy you Con's: Lack of passenger space in the back Vynal seats All in all a great car for a first car and a nice classic

It's alive :D after an engine bay respray and reassembly here she is looks stock but I have to do a bit more cleaning and painting to some of the componants and a new 2" exhaust because the straw-like exhaust system i have now isn't cutting with the new cam which is very similar to my racecar and is taking a bit of getting used to due to it's large nature also getting the rear springs reset to a lower level to the level of my super-lows in the front. More progress to come

Time for an update :sob: here is my engine got it back this week ready to go in over my 5 day easter w/e. It will be installed after an engine bay paint job tomorrow the engine bay is stripped and 1/2 rubbed back so keep tune in for an update. :no2:

Thats and awesome project sounds like alot of forward planning was done before hand I really would like to see some intake pics as it sounds quite interesting. Also this would open up some options for supercharging with the efi :P keep up the good work

I know this sounds like a silly question but could you explain what the parts are?

Hey guys Update time well i Bought a head of ebay it said near new I thought it must have been a bit corroded but its not its just like new but with some surface corrosion as it has been stored in a shed see here New head so it will be off with the balanced ottom end tomorrow to go to the machine shop for a light skim and acid bath and some heavier valve springs. Also my block has to be faced as it been warped 7 thou and my engine builder wants it right so we can set it up the same as our racecar engines :y: so hopefully in 2-3 weeks it will be ready for install along with engine bay respray. Engine bay pics soon but it is prepped ready for paint maybe next weekend as I have a week end off from racing also Pending YR12 homework :S Thats all for now

the reason he is using one is because in our junior sedan specs we must use a standard diffs and the Borg warner don't provide the right ratios
-
yeah they should fit we changed a 4.3 to a 4.5 but a 4.2 to a 4.3 might be different because a 4.2 is from a KE20 but i would be 90% because they have the same U Series housing. The only thing is that if you use the 4.2 flange you will have to use a ke20 tail shaft as i believe they are different patterns

nice project that custom sump is an artwork |blink|

:) updates is it close to running?
-
Like "Camerondownunder88's" KE15 that had a similar color scheme here is a pic from his thread

I would love to put one in my speedway cars and go to scruitineering *lifts bonnet* WTF is that thats illegal nah mate its a 3k look at the block, Ok mate *close bonnet* off you go. Now that would beat the cheating FWD Charades i have to race against ;)
