The bird thing is usually a mating or a dominance thing, the bird is trying to assert itself over any competitors. unfortunately for you, the only competitors are in your cars mirrors lol. Not a whole lot you can do really, it will probably stop once winter rolls around

the first time I took my LJ track car to Wakefield park, they threw me in the "tin top racecar" class.... THAT was intimidating and scary! Ive raced Karts, cars etc but in an untested car, the first time its been driven more than un and down my parent street and I got stuck with ex-v8 supercars, aussie racing cars (scariest things! youd be turning into the corner, somewhere no other car could possibly get by, and they would poke it under you!) freaked the ʞ©$ɟ out of me! haha. Are you planning to wrap the white bits too? Vinyl wrapping is definitely a good way to have some fun. Only thing I'm not sure on is whether it sweats between the vinyl and the metal (forming moisture and rust?)

I'm keen to see where thats from and how much dorra$$ its worth? I'm sick of cheap shitty ones that don't run full speed controllers for the steering, its just on/off and nothing inbetween! lol
-
I admittedly sit over the speedlimit a fair bit (drive the F3 freeway twice a day) But even if I do the posted speed limit, I still find myself overtaking 90% of those on the road.... I know 100% that my speedo is correct, so WTF is wrong with the other people?

Like I said, their sydney show kicked ass! Even my missus enjoyed it! lol -
Concerts - Excessively Loud With Excessive Bass.

i saw Rise Against play in Sydney, and as soon as I read the first post I immediately thought of them as one of the BETTER acts I have seen live. Sick of it all played before hand and were just as good sound wise. I have to totally agree with Dave though, most concerts these days are terrible, as is most "live music" whether its at a pub, club etc. How many times have you gone to the pub, had tea or a couple drinks just before the band starts, then gotten pissed off with having to yell at the person next to you to have a conversation? Music doesnt need to be loud to be enjoyed. I went to Pink with the missus last year or the year before, some of her music was waaaay too bassy and even too loud at times, the guys that played before hand were even worse (and we were up the back) ACDC, well they were meant to be loud and although it made your head shake at times, i think to play it quitely would be an insult. lol. I 100% agree that most concerts do a shit job when it comes to their sound. -
much stolen? Even if they take shitty little things, its the frustration of having to fix the damage, and knowing some little ʇ~~ɔ has had their fun ʞ©$ɟing with your car/s :(

Id say water pump, then double check your thermostat operating temp (boiling pot on the stove with a thermometer) You can trim the AU shrouds down to fit, common practice for torries :) otherwise, Ford Mondeo fans are just as good and smaller. Whats the air passage infront of the radiator like? when rock crawling you are obviously not moving in a hurry, I'd agree with raising the back of the bonnet, or atleast punching some vent holes somewhere for the hot air to go.

Insurance is sounding good at the current point in time????

I think the shape and colours make me constantly read the plate as SNES.... :laff: Super nintendo anyone?

Spool do custom cranks, BAZDA was looking at having custom cranks made to stroke 4As. At one stage there was talk of all alloy holden 6 blocks for around 5-7k a piece. The expense is generally in the cad work and the amount of hours it takes to measure and design each individual aspect of the finished product. Actually cutting it is the easy part. As for welding cranks, Ford 221 cranks have the snout cut off and replaced (welded on) with a 186 version (holden) to build a 234ci stroked Holden 6... And they last :) That said the snout position sees little un suported load, I'm not overly familiar with what you are proposing, but if the area was heated and welded appropriately, and wouldnt see any excessive loading (like the crank snout example) there is no reason it couldnt work

^WTF?? going to need a fair bit of weight reduction or a shipload more power to crack a 13 with 1600kgs, not impossible but definitely a challenge with a N/A six. Id say 300-350hp would do it, (real world horsepower) That said, I love straight sixes (biased towards red over blue though) and N/A ones even more :)

starwars dash in the VK calais is 10000000000x better! :P

removing the wing made such a massive difference on its own, funny how something so small can make something look so poxy.

That 7th gen colorado is interesting... considering that Isuzu are planning to launch an SUV version of the DMAX in australia next year! lol. if Holden fitted the genX engine to their colorado's they would dominate the market IMO. But they never will as it would steal sales from the commo ute. 4 door, 5 seater, V8 ute that looks semi decent? that would be silly! lol

Fresh bearings and nothing overly worn/broken/ in need of fixing in my w50/w55 box for the torana! was surprisingly easy to reco too!!
-
wow! Absolutely love it! drum brakes all round I'm guessing? very chevy/ek holden looking.
-
maybe the early ones, but they are definitely holden built now.

I work for a couple Honda Dealers (Marketing manager) but one of them has an Isuzu Dmax dealer attached too! The dmax is diesel only and as much as I am a Holden fanboy, a cut above the rodeo. Isuzu decided to sell their own products in Australia a couple years back, so Holden reverse engineered the Rodeo and made the collorado, and Isuzu sell the "rodeo" as the DMAX in aus. 3T towing on some models :) I'll let you all know how they go, Ive worked out some sponsorship for our speedway endevours, so will be using one of the 4x4 turbo diesel utes to tow our car down and back every weekend.

Sheesh! 40k! wow! I wish I could have spent that! initial build for me was around 10k, and probably another 5-7k since. The paint and panel was where I saved massively by having the body work done by a close friend and painted in trade for some exhaust work! :P

hmmmmm, thats something new! I know you can get custom shafts made, but didnt know they did different lengths off the shelf. Good to know.
-
hmmmmm, if you hadnt of said anything about track days and the interior, I would have almost put money on it being my uncle. I'm not a member of any specific club though, too much politics and bullshit (like most car clubs) The only torana related clubish thing I'm a member of is gmh-torana.com.au and have been since I was 14 haha. Wish me luck for pulling this box down! hopefully no nasties inside! Also! thanks for the positive comments man! I was over the moon with the XH shoot and feature.
-
there is a heap of hot house green LC/LJs around, youd have to be more specific! lol. Stripping the box this weekend, replacing all the bearings and giving it a general tighten and tidy up. Then I'm basically ready to put it all together on the front crossmember and slide it back under! Then its time to start building my new extractors.

You really limit your choices with the towing thing, Hilux is about the best option, you wouldnt want to tow a racecar and trailer with anything like a chaser, liberty or skyline. They arent heavy enough to safely tow anything more than a light trailer and I'd say their towing performance would be less than impressive (the last thing you want to be doing when towing is driving around at revs or on boost the whole time) How about an Isuzu? lol

This thing would rock peoples worlds with some go to match the show. at first I was a bit put off when I read (started from page one) you were going reasonably stretched tyres, but they didnt come up too bad. But I wass pleasantly surprised! looks great!
