The reason people take it back to bare metal and use a primer, is to get the surface as straight and smooth as possible. When your rub back your primer and you can see a nice semi gloss you know the paint job will look a million bucks..

Just out of curiousity, can you run the standard coil with EFI? I assumed EFI required an Coil/Ignitor..

Mother natures natural balance, sad, but not much anyone can do to stop it.. All I can say was it would have been very scary, heard a story through work, one of the businesses we work for does surf holidays, turns out he had a few bases around the place over there, one of his guides saw the ocean drain out and drove for the hills, wave still hit them though, rolled the car over and he had to break the glass to get out, clung to a tree or something, very close call..

I'm sure if he's a credible business man, it would be in his best interests to assist you in getting it fixed properly, nothing worse than buying a *lemon* of sorts after dishing out your well earned cash.. Sometimes you have problems when you buy something new, ironing out the bugs is annoying to begin with, but it can be rewarding in the long run.. Hope you get it all sorted out anyways mate :P

In my opinion if it does it again, I'd pay an sparky to have a look at it, an experienced sparky should be able to pick up what it is quite quicky, saves you the stress and prevents you from f@$king something up.. I had gremlins in my wiring when i put my CSX dash cluster in, took it to an auto electrical mob and they fixed it real quick, picked up on a few other problems too while they were at it, in the long run I believe it was worth the money..

I'd just keep trying to get anthony kellam to do it honestly, he really knows his stuff and has a good reputation, apart from being that busy you can't get a hold of him..
