  1. Does anyone know of any good tuners for Adaptronic in Melbourne? I still haven't decided yet.
  2. Why are people voting for Rollabus? Yes I know a lot of time, money and effort have been put into it, and the car looks great, but WE SAW IT LAST YEAR.
  3. Coilovers FINALLY arrived today after around 8 weeks...but I think it was worth the wait. They look so sexy. For anyone who's interested I got: Short stroke AGX 4 way adjustable inserts 6.3kg/mm springs - 205mm free height Helper Springs - 70mm free height. 0.45kg/mm, compress to 15mm flat Cusco Camber Tops AE86 Power Steering Knuckles Roll Centre Adjusters Enjoy
  4. Bought some seats to fit to the '30. Came out of a GC8 WRX. They're a bit slashed up for some reason (Springvale is a dodgy place) but they're only for test fitting purposes at the moment. I'll get them retrimmed or buy some overrated ones later down the track.
  5. To be honest I'm not really looking to tune the car myself. I was more interested in a hand controller just to keep tabs on what's happening while I'm driving. I don't want to have a laptop on my passenger seat to do that, although I do like the idea of the adaptronic. Has anyone had any experience with haltech on 20v's?
  6. So it seems like microtech might be out. Can you get a hand controller for the Adaptronic or will I have to plug a laptop into it?
  7. Thanks. Finally some real progress huh.
  8. Another Update. Today i test fitted my spare block with the T-50 attached. Looks like it all works nicely. The engine bay looks huge with only the block in haha. Gotta get Sam_Q around now to make me up a gearbox x member.
  9. Thanks for the feedback guys, it's been quite helpful. No cold start function on the microtech doesn't appeal to me... Is there many tuners around who have experience in adaptronic? Red, you've made it sound like a good way to go.
  10. Another one for a passenger door mirror from a KE30-55.
  11. Hey all, The time has come to buy an aftermarket ECU for my 20v KE30 project, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to which brand to go. I was looking at an LT10s but I've heard someone say that Microtech's are no good for 20v's. I realise that a lot of it is down to the tuner as to how good it works, but I'm hoping people can give me the benefit of personal experience. Ninja edit: Also if anyone can recommend a quality tuner in Melbourne for their chosen ECU I would be very grateful. Cheers, Sian
  12. Well finally we have progress. The 'Rolla finally went into the shed on the 22nd, after much cleaning and organising. Went and bought an engine crane on Saturday from Hare and Forbes machinery warehouse. What a wondrous place that is. On Sunday the engine came out pretty easily. Got out the angle grinder and cut the exhaust in two, and out that came as well. Also, got my Peugeot discs machined by ABS who we deal with at work. Got them to take 7mm off diameter wise, so now they should be good to go with the hilux calipers. Will hopefully get my coilovers this week and I can bolt all that up. Cheers, Sian
  13. That sounds pretty cool. Got pics?
  14. Well AFAIK the remade one in mine didn't have a bend. I've never seen an original one though. Anyone got pics?
  15. Haha I get hell for that calender at work.
  16. Hmm...both good ideas, I'll look into that later down the track.
  17. I made the parcel shelf out of 5mm mdf. The shelf in there when I bought it was 10mm laminated particle board. Particle board is a terrible material, do not use it. Go any bigger than 5mm thick in mdf and you won't be able to bolt the rear seat belts back how they came out. I believe 5mm mdf is plenty strong enough, I'm only going to have 6 or 6.5" speakers in it. I made my new shelf using the old one as a template, then got my dad to cut it with a jigsaw. If you don't have an old one to go off it'll be a little bit more tricky, but I'm sure you can do it. I'd recommend cutting it to the basic shape, being conservative and keeping it bigger. Then just keep test fitting, taking little bits off at a time...the biggest worry you'll have is the protrusion on the passenger side. Be careful as you'll probably scratch this trim. I haven't done anything else with mine yet, it's still just bare wood atm. I plan to grab some carpet from Clarke Rubber and cover it myself. I've only got one pic of it, I can grab some more if you want. Hope this helps mate, Sian
  18. Well hopefully I did, he knows what car it is.
  19. Well I finally got the car into the shed last night, and tonight went about stripping the engine bay and prepping the might 4k for removal. Feels good to be actually doing something with the car. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my coilovers, made by Dave at ###### (the place that shall not be named?). I went with: Short stroke AGX inserts 6.3kg/mm springs Helper springs Cusco camber tops RCA's AE86 P/S Knuckles $2400 posted to my door. It's a lot of money but I think it will definitely be worth it in the end. Thanks to Dave for being so helpful. Thanks for reading yo, Sian
  20. Interesting...A thread about toolboxes with only 1 toolbox... Pics or ban. My box at work
  21. Wow, had forgotten about this thread. Haven't done any work on the car, still acquiring parts. Ordered coilovers last week, $2400 worth with RCA's and AE86 power steering knuckles...so the bank account is still recovering. Haha can't believe you still haven't put in those struts, that's slack!
  22. I'll come along if my car is ready by then...probably won't be tho.
