  1. haha well at least you know about the fact that it will destroy your lungs:P
  2. seems like everyone needs an extra week, well halloween cruise sounds prett cool, will be awesome coz then we can paint FREE CANDY on the side of garnets T-18 :lolcry: well my car wont be registered by then but will have my licence, also think dads going on a trip that weekend so i will be able to bring my car :lolcry:
  3. thankyou robert, thats what i was pretty much told its bolted in, torqued down and does a pretty good job. the ones you stick in the end of canon's are illegal in many places apart from WA we have alot slacker laws but they still like things to be neat and tidy and not falling out over bumps
  4. alright well i was told that in general they are accepted, so i thought that meant whole of australia, obviously not some states are tougher than others but they would have to search pretty hard to find this if you do it right i apologize for saying its BS when i didnt look into your states law, but in most states it is passable and in WA it is apparently very acceptable as long as it doesnt restrict the flow too much
  5. i dunno, i might be able to get dad dad to come with me to the uni with my car, will be rocking the L plates :lolcry: and i will leave before the cruise as mines not licenced :lolcry: (even though its engineered)
  6. oh and even i wouldnt add steel wool as it burns at a fairly low temp, it will melt as soon as they do the test and the varying result will give them something to worry about and if they find it then they will get pissed and fail you. this idea is tried and tested and passes inspection without a problem
  7. thats a load of crock! ive talked to both the exhaust shop owner and the engineer who passed my car with one on it, they both liked the idea and had no problem with it it is a legal way of silencing your system so there is nothing they can say about it ken go ahead with this as its WAY more legal then steel wool and all these other dodgy fixes, if you make one that is not restrictive then you can leave it in if you felt like it. these work by collapsing the pressure wave that comes from your cylinder, you don't need it to be restrictive to make it work it only needs to have a collapsing effect the more small holes you have the better it will work, altho a few big hole can also work in certain patterns, like 6 around the outside and one in the middle.
  8. works hell well aye, took mine down about 8 dbA and is reusable, takes 2 mins to replace and cost me nothing because i knew a guy in an exhaust shop and got the flange gaskets for free :lolcry: but yeh they sell for about 5-10 bux and cheap tin from bunning is like 10 per metre it take 5 mins to make if you know what pattern you want, make several patterns and find out which works best for your system
  9. cruise is going north as well i believe, everyone pm garnett :lolcry: looks like i might not be able to make it on the cruise, my licence has been put off till monday  and shah might not be able to make it. i might just come down to curtain uni to talk to everyone and then ride m bike back home :lolcry: FML
  10. here is what i was told by the owner of an exhaust shop in ascot: things you need: tin snips metal sheet piece of wood around 20x20cm or more drill and drill set artliner spanners money 1. you start off by measuring your exhaust noise level and comparing it to the levels specified by your state, and find out how many DB you need to drop. each of the plates that i made take off around about 5 DB depending on the pattern you create so work out how man of these you will need to make 2. un-bolt your rear most exhaust flange and remove the gasket, take that to an exhaust shop and get 2 new ones for every plate your making (if your gasket is in good condition you will only need 1 new one) 3. get a sheet of 1-2mm of tin/steel/whatever you can get your hands on and lay the gasket down on it and outline the gasket. once this is done plot out where you are going to put the holes, i used 12mm one in middle and lots of 6mm holes around it, it dropped 8Db. REMEMBER TO NOT RESTRICT THE FLOW TOO MUCH 4. place the sheet down on the piece of wood and get the drill with drill bit and put your feet as close to the holes you are drilling as possible to stop the metal from pulling up. start drilling the holes! 5. once all the holes are there and your happy with the pretty pattern you made get out the tin snips and cut out the plate 6. sandwich the plate you have just made in between the flange gaskets and put it in place and torque down those bolts DO NOT PUT ON RIGHT AFTER EXTRACTORS
  11. hahaha I'm gonna throw it out there that this cruise is gonna be quite fun, got pretty much one of everything going i wish i had my car as its gots a CB radio :lolcry: can chat up truckers while i drive
  12. i did the rear half of my exhaust in about 4 hours with only an oxy welder, the old system and an angle grinder get up reall early and have a redbull before you do it and then another before the cruise:P

    My Ke70

get a gate :) they sound so awesome, will be epic on a ke70:) nice car though, was exactly what i was going to do until my engine blew a head gasket:(
  17. WEEEEEE well i think that if you make a really good on all you would need to do is flip the pipes upside down and weld onto the flange, and turn the turbo flange upside down too:P
  18. just mounted the air filter directly to the thorttle body and the engineer didnt have a problem with it
  19. the reason they get more expensive as the capacity grows is that they don't run off power to weight ratio, only power but yeh 600cc bikes normally accelerate faster than 250cc ones but i do agree that it is a bit of a rip-off, although if you look at the statistics then you it will make sense
  20. if you want to make something with metal fab, you could start with a really high performance bottom mount turbo manifold for both 20v and 16v would be useful for when i go turbo in about a years time :)
