Fair dinkum. I'm a ford bogan, yes, I know it :jealous: Want more pictures lol Just got email from xFalcon Geoff. f@$k them, i'll wait till they've fixed it proper. Dan.

Sorry, just made a stuff up and realised that the Ute in the top pic had a XG grille, oops. But yeah, thats a kick ass pair of XF's.... Back on topic...
-
Common thing to do, actually. The XG Falcon was released around the same time as the EA-EB series and incorporated a EA style grill (EA one is too small widthwise) which makes it look shmick. You can buy the original ones with the Ford badge in the middle, or some aftermarket ones are just flat. Look better with the badge, I reckon... heres a photo, sorry about the size

Oops again, worked out why this time, I'm pressing enter and its posting... damn i'm lazy. Sorry people.... It looked shithot, would have been much better if the stripes weren't on it. NOTE: NOT MY CAR. Was actually going to go and look for X-series with BA bonnet bulge, but sadly xfalcon.com is STILL down... shame...

I think he was referring to the AU Falcon... I fully agree.. it looks shit hot... XB GS bonnet onto XF, perhaps?
-
Oh, and factory headers with dual pipes? Please explain!
-
We're restricted to factory option carbs, yes. I'm not quite sure what the go is with fitting optional carbs though, because it does say in the manual that it should represent a base model car.. I will have to make contact with Fabio Martinelli about that... Yes, we are limited to Unleaded fuel with an additive or octane booster (readily available to the public for street use, that only) and the only mods to the ports we can make are just to clean them up a little bit. We are only really allowed freedom in that... I'll keep you in mind if I want to put a 5k head on the 3k Geoff, but I'm looking to up the compression a bit... Wasn't the KE1x released with a K or did it have the option of a twin carb, and was there any KE3x-5x released with a 3k with dual carbs? Dan.

:jealous: I didn't expect it to be this good!!! Bloody sweet man, whats the plans for it!

Ahahahhaa dodgy f@$k! Watch his doors open :jealous:

Yeah, but remember, the proper, better in the long run way usually will be his way of making more cash, by making the 'dodgy' way seem much more dodgy then it really is... Not to mention hes probably cutting corners in the proper way... But lets just hope that I'm jumping to conclusions and that in reality hes a top bloke who does his job properly :jealous: By the way, I give those chrome mudgaurds a deliberate thumbs DOWN. I think they'd suit a white sleeper, but just looks out of place on your automobile. Dan.

Yeah, I was amazed I got away with it... must have looked old enough or something, had me hat on... Didn't think about how much rent they'd get.. bloody wish I lived there though..

Haha f@$ked up on the sketch so i turned it into exhaust  weird, huh... If I were to do it (I thought of this, back when I got the ke55 and had plans for it as a project car), I would have a decent, clean wheel sitting in the corner of the boot, with a simple carpet cover over it. Another idea I toyed around with was making a box over the tyre, obviously with a lid, one that slides off. But yeah, that was my idea...

I thought that there was no such thing as a 2K, and that there was only a K, 3K, 4K, 5K or 7K... But yeah, if there was a 2k it would be a good alternative.. if i could get my hands on one.

Horray my quote makes it into a signature, and it wasn't a postwhoring - for once... I'd imagine that it would be more complicated to use the later model chassis as a starting point... didn't NoPsi put his project thread on Subsided? Dan.

Fuel Tank Relocation Thread

Sorry, I should have explained more clearer. We've been given freedom in relation to cam's, although you can only run standard carbies and manifolds. Exhaust may change providing no modification to the manifold is made to achieve it. I plan to run a 2" dumpy behind the front wheel. Therefore porting the hell out of the head and shit like that is a no-go zone - we can only 'clean up' the head in respect to head modifications. And, unless twin side drafts were available on stock 3k's released in the Australian public, in a vehicle with four seats - we can't run them either  So, basically, what I'm asking is, is there a more suitable head out there than the stock 3k head? Dan.

I know that Nick changed from 4AC to 4K, simply because shared the view of the 4K being a much better, reliable and efficient motor.

"Argh welcome to the forum mate, you'll get along juuuuust fine wif us, won't he, all youse.... bitch, get the man a vibbie" Bah, yeah, welcome

Sorry mate, wasn't having a 'crack' at ya (ha ha, pun, real funny aren't i), just couldnt make out what you were trying to say... All I can really contribute to this is; - 4k's will spin singo, real hard. They've got a fair amount of power when they get up and going (standard engine, btw) - I'm not sure on whether a cig-locker diff would be appropriate strengthwise, though it could be a cheap and easy alternative engine[b/] - 327: not familiar with it, though here in Oz corollas have been popping up with 350 chevs and 308's. I'd imagine these would go quite hard, a v8 corolla would be nuts on the drag strip - 4agze or SR20DET? Perhaps 13BT? Could be a 'jap' alternative A KE30, from my understanding, is between 700kg and 800kg depending on what options were selected on it from the factory. Can't say how much the car is worth, though - i'm stuck with relatively high prices here in perth that are different to ANYWHERE else in the world . Besides all that; sorry for sounding like a prick. I'm quite interested in this potential project, seems f@$kING AWESOME! Dan.

Alright. Well, as some of you may have read in the General Discussion area, there have been some new regulations brought in, in regards to driveline modifications. Note: we are ONLY allowed to run 3ks, or K's. Don't say to run a 4k or 5k because its so much better than the 3k! Before, we were only able to use the stock head, with limited work done to it, and standard pistons etc. However, now we can run flat top pistons, and any head that will bolt on without modication to its mounting points, manifold or carburettor. Head must be of the same port configuration as stock, ie: 2 port head. My question is, what would be a viable alternative to the standard 3k head, that I would perhaps be able to bump the compression up a bit with. Now, i'm planning on running flat-top pistons; what head would be a good alternative; perhaps a K head?? Other driveline modifications that are now allowed (not allowed previously); - ability to fit any diff that fits into the standard housing, that came as OEM equipment (ie: if a datsun diff fit into the diff housing without modification we can run it, also can I use diffs from ke70s?) - ability to run any gearbox gearing, providing it fits in standard housing - limit to 13x6" wheels My current plan (other than engine) is to run the K40 gearbox, with a locked 4:3 (and 4:1 or 4:5 for different tracks); and some jellybeans i've got as rims... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Dan.

Sketch of the drop tank idea, note how far the tank goes underneath the car - KE55s have alot of room underneath once the spares been cut out... I've got a KE55 Sedan thats had the spare wheel well cut out, i'll take some photos of just how much room there actually is underneath it
-
I was trying to think of viable options for this; just came across it after JIP_01 mentioned it to me earlier today.... 1) Custom drop tank. I've had this idea ever since I started getting into KE3x-5x models, I've always liked the idea of being able to improve the boot space and have the car looking tough as at the same time. Only problem with drop tanks that I've seen is if they are too deep, they end up looking like 'old-school rice'... in other words tacky. I've got a couple of pictures of a HK ute (dad's 'project' car, which isn't his, as confusing as that seems) thats right on the border of being too big. But its been custom fabricated, so heres proof it can be done; It can be done by any competent fabricator, whether its legal or not.... 2) LPG - You could run a LPG tank underneath the car, as long as you put a 1/4" bash plate around it, so you can pass rego. In this case, it could be suitable to run two, or even three smaller LPG tanks, but keep in mind that LPG is a) not like petrol, so you will need to switch across (electrical) tanks when one runs out and fill them up seperately b) LPG tanks are reasonably strong, they can withstand quite a force without denting due to their cylinderical strength and c) would cost a fair bit to install 3) Run a custom plastic fuel tank, as found on the XD Falcons. You may be able to install a modified XD one, perhaps? 4) Do a Dan Special. Run your car off a jerry can, propped up by a brick in the engine bay. This should give you 20hp increase due to the dangerousness of the fuel vapours running around in a hot, sparky and downright dangerous environment. Dan says: "Arrr, she'll be right mate! If Tiger blows up from my stupid ideas, its not my fault
