  1. I'm shocked, that just put a tear in my eye. I was following this eagerly and had no doubt that this would be one of the best Corolla's on the club. Thank you for giving us the news, Logan. I too give my condolences to everyone affected by the tragedy. Phil would be happy to know that the KE30 will be finished. Vincent.
  2. You shouldn't need to go through the bolt hole. As far as I know the gearbox I rebuilt in College was one of these and I was able to get all of the pins out through the big hole. It's MUCH easier to get all of the gears off once you get the shaft completely out!! Taking out the selector forks is what needs to be done to do this, though. Just keep undoing things, knocking pins out etc. until they come out. For a bit of consolation, I took the longest to rebuild my gearbox in class. Everyone elses seemed to just fall apart, whereas mine was a puzzle  Surely Toyota weren't going into "Toyota specialist" only repairs before the 90's! ;)
  3. Give us some photo's and we'll tell you straight away.
  4. Sam the rat rod
  5. White AE86 with gold Simmons mesh in site carpark every day. Looks like a fun daily! Surely would have the 4AGE conversion by the looks of it. Faded yellow KE38 turning into Mitchell car wash! I wonder why the owner even bothered
  6. If it's performance you're after go for the sports system minus the cannon. If you're with a stock/mild 4k 1.75" is the biggest you should go. 2" is a little too much. I have a 2" sports system in my KE70 with a 5K. It sounds cool, but at the end of the day I wish I had gone with a 1.75" just because mine is a little on the loud side. Long highway driving is a bit of a bad experience. You'll realise that unless you're doing this to a track car, practicality is greater than trying to get maximum cool factor or those few extra horses. By all means a sports exhaust is a great idea (way better than a cannon)m but not to race car spec for a daily. To go on a little further, I just bought a subaru wagon (the older ones), which has a sports exhaust on it. It's hardly noticeable at idle, subtle at regular and highway driving and it only really gets louder when you plant it. It's brilliant! Everyone still comments on how it sounds nice, but it's never too loud. Being a young person there are times I wish my KE70 were a little quieter.
  7. Unless your name is Bill Sherwood. Bill Sherwood's Starlet Engine page.
  8. 3TC garage will probably have ALL of the info you need. Completely dedicated to T-series engines and the cars you can find/put them in.
  9. A T-50 will cost you $300 bucks. A K-50 with an A-series bellhousing will cost you nothing but it will take you 3 years to find one and will, on command, break.
  10. Shit hit the fan there!!! You must be so glad you saw the smoke and had time to stop the engine before a real disaster had struck! How is your day going so far? :P
  11. If you're used to driving an auto then you need to get used to driving a manual. It is probably just flooding the engine at first because you're planting the foot and because a manual has a "direct" drive (whereas an automatic has what I'd describe as a power buffer), you feel the power or backing off of power at the wheels a lot more. Gradually put your foot down... It's just a waste of fuel to plant the foot straight away.
  12. Is that a penis on your driveway?
  13. Mesh looks silly... So do roof scoops and anodized blue bonnet pins.
  14. What's the reason/s behind this?
  15. Stock bumper anyone? :) Paint looks wild! Good luck with the turbo plans. Will rip fat err.. it's a FWD haha.. squealies :)
  16. Looks like a really nice KE26 mate. Too clean to build it only to spend it's time on the strip. You'll have way more fun with a hot 5K and 5-speed in her. Get some more pics up for us to admire! :)
  17. Thanks for the invite, Jeremy. I'd enjoy coming along. Sorry for being vain, but is CCG Canberra Celica Group? Cheers, Vince
  18. Best way to make sure your car is road legal is run EVERYTHING past your engineer before you go ahead with the plans. There's no point building a car and handing it over to an engineer and saying "engineer this". They know what's legal and more importantly what's not. I've been told they like getting in contact and discussing your plans with you before you start doing work.
  19. Happy birthday Chappo!!! :D
  20. Ask the people that do the job of importing cars first. Corolla's were delivered to Australia so chances are 99.99% of people on here have never imported a car because there's one next door they can buy.
  21. Different country.
  22. I don't think he built that.
  23. Even KE70's are starting to get a Takumi tax. The early FWD Rolla's are the cheapest and most "unwanted" of the lot now. I'm sure they're still decent cars! A twin-cam AE82 would be a pretty fun first car. They have a decent handling/brake setup too!
  24. *waits for someone to signature that shit up*
