I couldn't imagine a KE20 with guard flares. It wouldn't look right because they don't have the coupe-style back end. I might be wrong though!

The answer to your question is here: http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?tit...gh_K_motor#Head 3k-b heads I've seen going for free to $150 but are usually about $80? Not sure on the reco cost of a head, but pretty sure it won't be cheap. My suggestion if you want to make a bit more power is: Buy a 4k or 5k for the same price of sourcing and reconditioning a 3k-b head... maybe even cheaper. Or, if you want to keep your 3k engine: adapt a weber, give it some cam or an exhaust.

Same thing happens to me in my KE70 as of recent. It tends to only be within a small amount of "space" on the friction surface where it will start to shudder (clutch half in). My solution/s (without fixing it) is to make the clutch slip a little more until you have enough speed to let it out, let the clutch fully out quicker than usual or give it a few more revs. If you are concerned I would probably get it checked out, though.

A member has 4 (four) motorcycle carbies rigged up to his 5k KE10 or KE11.

That's a pretty sweet pickup for $200. Crying shame that it's an auto. Pretty cruisy for a daily, though! Hope you have some good plans for her.

Good to hear it's going back on the road! I think it is a pretty cool little rig. Props for doing it properly! I'm buying a half-done KE20 convertible... Basically the roof is cut off and a few panels welded onto the holes that were opened up when it was cut Good luck with it.

That's a really nice exhaust system! The rims look sweet as. Good work on the bumper too. Keep us updated. One of my fave Rolla's! ps. Love the locations in the photos.

I'm picking up a shitload of KE parts in the next few days (KE20 specifically). 3-6 motors (two or three 5k's, one or two 4k's and a 3k or two) K motor EFI manifold, interior/dash parts, trims, lights, seats etc. Still unsure of everything that I'm getting. Will post up what I might be willing to sell to gather some money for project/s. If you're looking out for anything else in the Canberra region, I'm going to be checking out a few wreckers around the area. If you need anything for your car/s I'll be able to have a look for you so just shoot me a PM or TXT and I'll be happy to have a geeze when I'm out and about. My number is 0424240649 or PM.

Looking pretty sweet. Should be a pimp car when you get the wheels on! Loving the twin carb setup. Are you planning on doing the paint up a little more or just leaving the average home job on it?
-
How wide are them rims? Is it a full set? They look cool lol
-
BEAST! Have you been doing any more painting? The roller method is rad lol.
-
You're a good man SLO-030, that helped me a lot! Definitely going to have to measure up the "STRAKKIES" at the wreckers, though. Thanks for your help everyone!

Seconded  Rolling sex. My absolute #1 fave KE20 on RC (and everywhere). Congrats on an awesome car, RA28GT!

Queanbeyan Auto Dismantlers? There's 1 KE55 basically stripped of all but panels and few bits. 4? KE70's, 1 of which is a pretty good nic panelvan (with likely working aircon - last rego was 1st 2008) and 3 sedans. About 10 AE82's or other stuff like that. I went to ezy scrap yard in Mitchell also, there is a really nice/straight KE70 with a 5sp and overrated blue interior and an average KE30. (They don't sell whole cars :y:) (NB: at ezy scrap, make sure you say you can get it somewhere else for "X" price BEFORE they give you a price) Anyhow, will be checking out the rest of the Canberra (area) wreckers scene! Check Canberra regional section if you're interested to know what and where is about! It's a sad sight going to the wreckers. So much wasted stuff.

...... perhaps I will see.

Was at the wreckers today and found a set of extractors sitting in the back of a KE70 pano and wasn't sure if they were "K" motor extractors or not as they weren't attached to a car. The pano still had it's stock exhaust manifold on it, so I don't think it would have been off it. Would it be possible for people to post a few pics of K extractors and possibly even do a few measurements between stud holes etc. to compare to the ones at the wreckers. I don't want to buy them and find out they won't fit!

Welcome to RC Chappo and Rick! That's a really clean looking car you've got yourself there Rick and I hope that rotary conversion goes well for you, Chappo. As for engine mounts I've never done it myself, but you should just ask around. Perhaps ask on RC if someone has already dropped a 12a into a KE30-55 and they might be able to make a set up for you. Once again welcome to RollaClub and I hope to see you guys out and about!

Trent's 1979 Ke55 Series 1 107,000 Kays!
seabiscuit replied to Trent-KE30's topic in Rollaclub Rides
That's f@$king radical! Looks bloody nice. I hope you didn't cut the springs? -
Your dad must have some kind of master plan with this car haha. First he gets it for free for you and is now organised to get it painted! Make sure you put it in his head that it's YOURS! :y: I hope you're going to do a top job painting it and be there for every minute of the painting as it'll be a really good lesson to learn how to panelbeat and paint a car. We're all envious of your VERY fortunate circumstances! :S Keep us updated on the progress and get some more pictures to spoil us already!

We don't know! Read how they've done it on the pages you've been reading lol. I'd say you'd need primer, though. I just imagine this method would need a lot more sanding than a spray job. If I were you, I'd give it a go on something like a guard or bootlid and see if it turns out how it is supposed to. I've read about these methods and I'm considering going down this road myself as it looks pretty fair-dinkum. Good luck!

I'm doubting that I'll be able to go to Dubbo. I've had a bad turn of events. Which is being fired from work, having a leaky head in my daily which will need fixing, and a huge hole in my exhaust manifold has come up. If anyone's driving I'll go as I'd love to go, but most-likely won't be taking my car.

I stumbled out to my car today and decided I'd check the engine numbers.. To my surprise the car has a 4k motor with a 3k head! What a bonus! Once I get myself into a good enough paying job I'll be able to start some work on this monster. ...Unless some Canberra RC members are willing to teach me how to fix rust and panel beat! ;)

Firstly, welcome the the RollaClub, ewt. That's a great Pano you've scored yourself there. I've got a KE36 wagon myself and they are a top little car. Like JiP says these are getting incredibly hard to find, so you're very lucky to have scored yourself one for free. So make sure you take good care of it and keep hard at it. I'll be checking this page too regularly. Make sure you check out some of the RC (RollaClub) tech forums for tips on your car. What plans have you for the beast? What about a name?! PS. Looks like you might have a little bit of rust coming through on the bottom of your front guard!

What Is The Wheel Offset On The Toyota T18 (te72)
seabiscuit replied to alex.wilson's topic in General Mechanical
Negative offset sorta means you'll get more dish and positive means less dish... So if the offset is really positive the rims will sit "inside" your guards a lot and if the offset is highly negative they'll sit further out of your guards. Most 15x7 rims (between +10 and -4) should fit on a T-18 nicely. There isn't a SET offset that can only be used on your car, if your stock rims are +30 offset doesn't mean you need to keep it that way. If you're purchasing rims probably best to stay on the positive side of offset to save rolling or flaring your guards. Good luck and show us some pics of your car! -
Nice one! What are your plans with the KE20? A 4age implant would be pretty nice, bung that turbo on too!
