  1. There were some issues with packet loss yesterday. As a result pages were either slow to load, or failed to load. The server was taken down completely for a short time while they rectified the problem. It should be OK now. Issue Raised: 16/08/2007 9:05am Resolved: 16/08/2007 11:30am Theres also been some issues with board sent email (i.e. PM notices, topic subscriptions etc). For some reason the new servers IP address has been blacklisted by spam programs, probably due to the actions of someone else hosted on the same server (despite the service provider having a very strict no spam policy). I will look into ways to solve this problem...mainly because I'm sick of getting tonnes of bounced email from retarded spam filters.
  2. Hi all, Ive put the updated donations page back up: http://www.rollaclub.com/donations.php Every cent helps keep the site running and free! Hopefully free of commercial sponsors for the mean time too! Edit: I forgot to add if you want to do a direct deposit thats OK too. Just PM me and I'll send you the details.
  3. I have it from reliable sources that they are essentially the same gearbox.
  4. What about a 97-on Townace automatic? They're 4spds and stuck behind 7Ks :y:
  5. Far from it.
  6. Thanks for the kind words of support guys. Sometimes I wonder if I'm wasting my time but obviously I mustn't be. I expect a small downtime today sometime once the name server changes propagate. Edit: And apparently that will be happening now... Took 5 minutes to propagate compared to 12hrs for KE70.com Edit 3 minutes later: All done for now. You can start using http://www.rollaclub.com/board again :) Edit again: Aww the cool font is gone again :y: Do people prefer that one to this?
  7. We're not out of the woods yet unfortunately but we'll try and keep the disruptions to a minimum. I can't go into detail about whats happening at the moment but we'll try to explain when the times right.
  8. Click on options (in the title bar of the thread, right hand side, drop down menu) and make sure it says under Display Modes "Standard" in bold. If it doesn't, click on Switch to: Standard.
  9. Ive gotta say though, I don't check the Eastern USA forum....ever! so I for one would have missed it had Jip not brought it to my attention...
  10. Missed permission setting on that forum only. Corrected now.
  11. From Garrett themselves: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...r/faqs.html#t16 Does my turbo require an oil restrictor? Oil requirements depend on the turbo's bearing system type. Garrett has two types of bearing systems; traditional journal bearing; and ball bearing. The journal bearing system in a turbo functions very similarly to the rod or crank bearings in an engine. These bearings require enough oil pressure to keep the components separated by a hydrodynamic film. If the oil pressure is too low, the metal components will come in contact causing premature wear and ultimately failure. If the oil pressure is too high, leakage may occur from the turbocharger seals. With that as background, an oil restrictor is generally not needed for a journal-bearing turbocharger except for those applications with oil-pressure-induced seal leakage. Remember to address all other potential causes of leakage first (e.g., inadequate/improper oil drain out of the turbocharger, excessive crankcase pressure, turbocharger past its useful service life, etc.) and use a restrictor as a last resort. Garrett distributors can tell you the recommended range of acceptable oil pressures for your particular turbo. Restrictor size will always depend on how much oil pressure your engine is generating-there is no single restrictor size suited for all engines. Ball-bearing turbochargers can benefit from the addition of an oil restrictor, as most engines deliver more pressure than a ball bearing turbo requires. The benefit is seen in improved boost response due to less windage of oil in the bearing. In addition, lower oil flow further reduces the risk of oil leakage compared to journal-bearing turbochargers. Oil pressure entering a ball-bearing turbocharger needs to be between 40 psi and 45 psi at the maximum engine operating speed. For many common passenger vehicle engines, this generally translates into a restrictor with a minimum of 0.040" diameter orifice upstream of the oil inlet on the turbocharger center section. Again, it is imperative that the restrictor be sized according to the oil pressure characteristics of the engine to which the turbo is attached. Always verify that the appropriate oil pressure is reaching the turbo. The use of an oil restrictor can (but not always) help ensure that you have the proper oil flow/pressure entering the turbocharger, as well as extract the maximum performance.
  12. Fuel Tank Repair service on the northside. Be patient however! I needed my rusty tank cleaned ASAP (~3 days turn around) and it came back still rusty and absolutely useless to me. Despite that Id still recommend them. http://www.ftrs.com.au/
  13. Best advice Ive seen in this thread yet. Call an engineer BEFORE you take a spanner to the car.
  14. lol. You can't have seriously thought they'd start a game at 10:30pm local time??? Daylight savings has been over for two months now....just a time zone difference.
  15. In future either check the FAQ or search before starting a new topic. Theres a page on this in the FAQ and its been covered hundreds of times before on the forums.
  16. Ive heard a rumor that the spelling fairy is going to be back in town soon.
  17. When you get to 50 (or something...I can't remember) posts you get so called "verified member" status which lets you do a few extra things. Post images stuff like that.
  18. Or picked up the phone :y:
  19. The absolute best site for top gear is http://www.finalgear.com
  20. Details of your fuel system and engine setup please.

    Spotted Qld

You can be fined for going through a yellow light..... And he probably thought the car behind him didnt have good enough brakes so he'd leave himself an escape route when it came screaming up behind him. *poke* *prod* *jab*
  22. The server takes no time data from the end user. So it doesn't matter if your clock is set 40 years in the future. The server doesn't know or care. Your GMT offset setting is for your visual benefit only. Times are entered into the database as seconds from the unix epoch at GMT+0 and come from the servers own clock. Why that post was an hour ahead I'm not sure and to be frank I don't really care. Unless it starts happening frequently I'm not even going to investigate further.
