  1. Yes I understand the concept, what I'm saying however is that if you're at what doing 200kmph, thermostats wide open, water temperature going into the radiator is 85 degrees, pressure inside the cooling system is 1.2 bar, the effect of a thermosyphon is so small that its negated entirely by other forces inside the radiator (waterpump, pressure, steam pockets blah blah blah). I'm not saying it not there, just so small that it shouldn't be a consideration in choosing between a cross flow radiator and a down flow radiator.
  2. You're welcome to try and measure it, but I can guarantee you will fail. Have a bit of perspective, what you're suggesting is ridiculous.
  3. Threads served its purpose :lolcry:
  4. Sbox you are becoming a problem, pull your head in before I have to do something about it.
  5. f@$k...we're not reinventing the wheel, its a radiator for crying out loud. The thermosyphon effect will be so small its negated by many other forces happening inside the cooling circuit.
  6. Last time I checked (and I'm pretty sure its still there) theres a whopping great waterpump strapped to the front of my motor. If the radiators thermosyphoning while the motors running you've got a big problem. I'm not talking about 208 litres either (and its ridiculous to suggest that I am), I'm talking about the difference between a radiator of 1.5 litres and 3 litres.
  7. Coolant volume should count more than cross flow/down flow. For example a 40mm alloy 3 core barely cools any better than the standard nissan 15mm single core (which is also alloy) because of the terrible coolant capacity.
  8. The feelings mutual.... :y:
  9. I don't feel the need to say anything. Your signature says enough for me.... oh wait that IS me!
  10. I assume it isn't, but you shouldn't have to if you use the correct material. You don't need bracing on steam pipe manifolds.... If you want a shiny manifold get one made out of inconel, just be prepared to pay through the arse for it.
  11. Ive done it myself :y: KE30 backing plates, KE70 hub with KE20 bearings, KE70 rotor and caliper. You really need to enlarge the thread for the bolts that hold the backing plate on but I got away without it. Provided you've got Girlock calipers you can then use VN commodore rear pads (easier access to performance pads).
  12. Because it doesn't matter where they try to build a dam, there'll always be wingers. Should have just built wolfdene...
  13. The idea is to keep technical threads technical and keep the for sale stuff in the for sale area. I'm not trying to stop people selling stuff, just trying to keep it in the appropriate areas.
  14. Probably just brain dead fencing contractors.....
  15. Stainless is an absolutely dreadful material to make manifolds out of. Its not heat rated high enough for a start. Basically the only reason stainless manifolds are made and sold is their looks. Standard cast manifolds survive the heat and rapid heat changes very well and they perform good provided they don't crack (though I suspect this is caused more by poor exhaust hanging). Aftermarket wise the best manifold you will get is made out of steam pipe. They can be had for about $950.
  16. Do it in PM No, nothing, none, nada Exactly, however if I start receiving complaints about specific people doing this excessively then they will be asked to stop.
  17. OK, there has been an increasing trend of people peddling their wares outside of the for sale area. From wikipedia So, traveling outside of the for sale area to sell their goods. It has the potential to ruin perfectly good technical information and fill the thread with for sale garbage where it isn't wanted. Examples: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...st&p=202946 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...st&p=185225 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...st&p=182511 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...st&p=169414 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...st&p=130888 Just a couple found by searching for "if your/youre/you're interested" (Selected at random. If its your post its nothing personal, just needed examples) This will stop immediately. There will be a 1 week grace period (people will still be warned via PM) and then people will be formally warned. Any questions?
  18. Theres only one way its gonna end up with more info....
  19. I wouldn't bother posting good info threads, it'll only get lost and then files end up being uploaded multiple times. Now found here: http://www.rollaclub.com/hosted/5K_info.pdf
  20. There was one but it didn't make the transition from the old server and I don't have any access to it anymore. Shoot me a copy too Chris and I'll stick it back up on the server - irokin @ rollaclub.com If anyone else has a copy of the 7K manual or KE70 electrical system PDFs I'll put it back up too (or any other corolla PDF manuals). Theyre pretty big so don't email them to me without contacting me first.
  21. Christ... a moderator in the making one would think! Makes my life easier :D
  22. Cast iron block, alloy SOHC head. It'll probably hit bloody everywhere!! There are no exceptions...
  23. Its also a fairly tall motor so you'll have to give the bonnet some love too... No one should ever do an engine conversion just because they have a motor "laying around". It shows a clear lack of planning and research.
  24. haha I was watching that storm on the radar and thought you might have been close to it. Fark it was big on the radar!
  25. Yea I thought that might be the case. As far as I'm aware they were never distributed in large numbers. I can see if I can have them made, I think Tiger designed them but I'll have to see what the go is.
