  1. You'd have to be a fool to use Kms to judge the condition of a corolla anyway
  2. hallelujah! I didn't much like the idea of running 15s and standard brakes. Theyre badly underbraked just for spirited driving, but if I can run 17s that means I can easily move up to 324mm rotors which would be nice. Whats the rules on rim widths? I'm running 17x9 all round at the moment and I get the feeling that wouldn't be legal. The turbo Ive got on the moment would probably suit a restrictor pretty well, just might need to find a 3.9 diff out of something. hrmm might be back to building the car to IPRA regs... Thanks for the info :D Edit: Just reading...17x9s are allowed for silvias but I can't for the life of me find a A032R or A048R in a 50 profile for 17s. Probably cheaper and easier for me to run 16x8 R32 GTR rims as opposed to the R33 GTR rims I currently run.

    Spotted Qld

    He means GE90 cam (obveously)
  4. I read about this and was keen to do it...but IPRA doesn't agree with some of my silvias specs. More specifically the 15 inch rims they require me to run don't agree with my 296mm brake rotors... and I don't agree with turbo restrictors :D Hope they have a blast, should be a fantastic event.
  5. Having had the latest model wolf (V500) can I encourage you to use something else....haltech would be my suggestion.
  6. That'd be my dream come true. I despise those useless f@#king sites. Sooner they're gone the better...
  7. I use 2.18 for my calculations. i.e. 250cc/2.18 = 115kw ...but thats for turbos so you could probably milk a few more kw out of them safely. If you have big plans I hope its for more than 125kw. Diecently sized injectors are cheap anyway. From memory I paid ~$90ea ex japan for my 700cc Sard low imps.
  8. Up to 30 days after the registration expiration you can pay the late fee and have it re-registered, after that its treated as a new registration.
  9. If you're going for an aftermarket ECU piss the AFM off all together. Best thing I ever did.

  11. They have the internet in Iraq too ;) Ruts wont be back for a little while yet.
  12. I totally agree. If thats the case...stick some 1000lb springs in there and THEN tell me theres no power loss. Its pretty futile trying to measure something like that on a dyno too... :lolcry:
  13. I learnt when building the silvia that you have to set yourself unattainable goals....just to get things moving on the car faster. After a while you get used to watching the dates come and go, but setting an attainable date gets nothing done because you have so much time to stuff around.
  14. http://www.rollaclub.com/hosted/Starlet_Ma...;_Revisions.pdf Thanks very much to Tony for making it available again :lolcry:
  15. Don't have a copy unfortunately. Went missing between servers. Have put the call out for someone to send it to me before but no-one seems to have it...
  16. Motion carried. I can't get over the obscene prices people pay for something thats JUST A COROLLA. You can pickup clean, well maintained CA18DET Silvias for those kind of prices and they're a far easier car to modify with loads more bang for buck.
  17. Yes its registered...no I'm not driving it 900km to an event and then hope I can make it back again... lol The only full track sprint/time attack/track day thing Ive ever seen for Bathurst was earlier this year and cost something like $4000-6000 depending on when you paid. It was 3 days with professional instruction but F@#$k thats expensive!
  18. Youtube to the rescue:
  19. Good stuff. Good to see the times coming down with each run. I'm tempted to put the Silvia on a trailer and come down for a Bathurst supersprint. Not entirely convinced it'd be worth the time for me.
  20. If you want to spam it up, Go here: http://rollaclub.com/chat/index.php Its similar to the forum...just a bit less functionality and you don't end up pissing everyone off. Better use it caws I just spent half an hour coding it (zomg!).
  21. Semis should be last on peoples list IMO. You will learn your car far faster on street tyres than semi slicks. Street tyres accentuate any bad handling behaviors making them easier to identify and tune out. Semis will mask them until the ragged edge when they suddenly let go and spit you off the track.
  22. Split...
  23. Turbos are durable little things these days. It would be one of the last things I would be expecting to blow. As long as you treat them right (let them warm up before thrashing the beejesus out of them), use a turbo matched to the application and the oil supply doesn't stop they should last for many many years. Theres not much else I can think of that can do 100,000rpm+ with EGTs of 500+ degrees day in day out for many thousands of hours/kilometers.
  24. Edited
  25. And geminis have 4x100 too afaik
