  1. I'm not even sure if we're allowed spectators! The whole track hasn't been 2008 liability proofed yet as far as I know so I'm reluctant to invite people to come have a look. Don't get me wrong I've got no problems with noise limits, I was just surprised at how quiet (ok not THAT quiet) 92dB is for these regs. It certainly caught a few people out today!
  2. Everyone gets tested. I should mention I'm racing there on the 5th of April with the Time Attack guys :D. Had a bit of a test session at QR today, few things to sort out but a busted intercooler hose put an early end to my day.
  3. Some of you might be aware that Lakeside raceway is opening up for racing again (If you're not http://www.lakesideraceway.com). Some of you will also be aware that there will be noise restrictions, specifically 92dB. Sounds pretty lenient (with the road legal volume 93dB in QLD at least) however its not tested the same as QLD Police or QLD Dept. of Transport. The test is done from 5 meters directly behind the car with the car revving at 5,000rpm for 5 seconds. I consider my car to be one of the quieter racers at track days and I registered 90dB which surprised me. My mates R32 GTR which sits probably middle of the range compared to other cars registered 98dB. So if you intend to race at Lakeside make sure you have the car tested before hand so you don't get booted out on the day.
  4. Yes the peddle box needs to come from a KE20 of some description. Probably just not from a TE27.
  5. Yea we wouldn't want him to feel like hes moved too far away from the Melbourne underworld....
  6. Should probably put me on the list.... That ought to scare a few people away :jamie:
  7. New server, migration issues. Due to the sites size some files (in particular the uploads folder) had to be moved manually. Obviously the guys doing the move neglected to check the permissions resulting in a 755 instead of a 777 and thus the site was unable to write to these directorys. Now fixed but please alert me to any other odditys. I know some images might be missing that had been posted around Tuesday last week. The new server is far far far far far more powerful than the old server. The old server consisted of 2x AMD Athlon X2 3800+. The new server is 4x 3ghz Intel Xeon which is a true server processor.
  8. Now semi compulsory viewing for new members... Moved to general...more people need to see this! lol
  9. http://www.shamrockstickers.com/ I think Ive got one in my room somewhere from Nick....in one of my "organised" piles of stuff.
  10. I wanna know how he justifies the $8500 price tag. As far as I can see the extent of modifications is limited to terrible rims and a paint job.
  11. You don't even need to go that far. You can use both spring rates, same shock settings, all you really need to change is your wheel alignment. His name is pretty muddy on rollaclub because of his actions in the past (on rollaclub). I would suggest GSL Rallysport. My preference in springs is Eibach but many consider them too pricey (I didn't think so?).
  12. Just watch your spring rates. Please don't copy other peoples spring rates and perpetuate the "stiff springs are great!" falsity. I bet someone will jump on here now and go "I'm running 10kg springs in the front of my car and its great!". No its only great because you've never tried good spring rates matched to GOOD shock absorbers. Stiff springs don't allow the shock absorber to do its job so wheres the point having shocks?. If you're going to be even half serious about this contact a suspension engineer. I use a guy whos an ex-V8 supercar suspension engineer and he makes possibly the best off the shelf (to an extent, the shocks are revalved and dynoed) kit available for my car in the world. While he doesn't have any kits specifically for corollas he should be able to recommend a shock/spring combo thats far more in the ballpark than the clueless crap sold by corolla "specialists".
  13. Pretty much all the auto's for the sedans, not entirely sure about the wagons. It wouldn't surprise me if you could find a 4.5 from a panelvan or something like that.
  14. Someone is going to have to gather all the scraps of info and arrange them into an organised format in the wiki. If we just pin every post with good info pinning would become pointless and the information lost.
  15. Just don't forward rubbish on. Its a very good way to gain the attention of scammers. If you're gullible to forward some rubbish like this on, you're probably ripe for a fleecing.
  16. Worse now. You get a court appearance notice and the Judge decides what to do.
  17. Maybe they were biodegra......no not likely.
  18. Nope absolutely nothing different. 100% marketing bullshit... worked too.
  19. Aside from the fact it only has 8 valves and uses chain driven cams...
  20. Not hybrid, all custom. It was built for the TS Cup Starlets in japan in order to break the winning streak of the datsuns and it succeeded on the 24th of November 1973 at Fuji Speedway taking a 1-2 finish.
  21. Only about 50 billion times. 1293cc 180ps @ 9500 rpm 14.0kg @ 7000rpm. And if people don't STOP calling it a 3K-R and start calling it by its correct name (150E) I'm going to shoot myself.
  22. Judd power FTW
  23. A 5K head will make compression on a 4K go WAY up. You'll end up with something like 15:1. Great for methanol, not so great for anything else.
  24. Ugh this thread could turn into a legal mine field. Please don't be offended if your post/photos get deleted.
  25. The rules are written in a somewhat harsh manner in an attempt to remove conjecture however they were not intended to be enforced quite as such. Its not a power trip and I make damn sure that doesn't manifest itself within the moderating team. That is the reason I have a policy of not taking on people as moderators if they ask for it. In my experience people that ask to become moderators are the absolute worse moderators. NONE of the current global moderators asked. Moderatings an absolutely thankless job and the only time you get mentioned is when others percieve you're doing something "wrong". The majority of the heavy moderating is the for sale area and this has been in response to requests by users for more organisation (i.e. better post structure, location, wanted area etc). It would appear that maybe the balance has swung too far to the heavy side. Geoff you know full well this could have been taken care of via PM with myself so I get the feeling you have an alterior motive here.
