  3. slicks.....thats why race cars have big brakes. And even so how many lockups do you see? V8 supercar brakes are still only 400mm or so. Youve almost proved my point with 'advantage' #1 and #2 can be a disadvantage too. Most perfomance brake pads need heat to work. No heat is a bad thing. I believe avaloneas pads don't come up to full effectiveness until about 400 degrees centegrade. The same with most race car brakes. Meh you believe what you want to because I doubt I'll ever make a difference.
  4. oh god....what next!!!
  5. Go for your life. There isnt much point. But hey I'm not gonna stop you. The bigger the brakes get in proportion to the weight of the car, the easier they will lockup when braking on the limit. And the bigger they go after that the easier they will lockup away from the limit. So theres not much point putting say V8 supercar brakes on a corolla. Unless of course youve got ABS then go for your life....
  6. this modification carried out at dodgy brothers performance workshop

  10. lol geee....marquee didnt get a very good represent....
  11. yea Ive seen it....could be interesting :insane: I had a dirt circuit when I lived in the country. It rocked.
  12. rolling your guards will give the tyres more clearance under there. But that depends on where theyre rubbing. I assume its on the outside.
  13. yea theyre the same. going to 2L is no good for nitrous or forced induction however because the bore walls are too thin to take that kind of abuse.
  14. standard 2T block needs 3T crank, rods and pistons. Need to grind the block out a bit so the rods clear. Pretty straightforward and gives you an extra 200cc. From there you can bore it out another 200cc and give you a 2 litre 2T monster.
  15. scrubbings just part of having a lowered car and big rims. You could try getting the guards rolled or "massaged" depending on where its scrubbing. Head to a tyre place and get them to have a look at it. They are usually willing to help and give some free advice.
  16. safe RPM limit for a 3T crank (slightly larger stroke than a 2T) is about 6900rpm. They are forged cranks as standard (thank god) but I wouldnt be putting it too much past 7000rpm.....
  17. building your own autocross track fook??

  21. GT celicas only. And we didnt get them delivered :insane: there were however LOTS of engines and parts imported. You can upgrade a standard 2T to a 2T-G for about $400....which is shithouse bang-for-buck....
