Another pic of the 20 valve. Yes it is very dirty.... it will be cleaned up after it goes in and maybe some work done to make the rocker covers and valley covers look a little neater. I was thinking polished rocker cover and painted valley cover, not sure on colour for valley cover at this time though. More concerned with getting it running. Finally got hold of Yager Performance today for thermostat relocator kit. Apparently they received them this morning so I am going to arrange for them to send me one. This will be the last of my RWD cooling parts acquired now. I really wanted to have it all together before the engine went in to save stuffing around in the engine bay and it looks like it will come together. For those interested in doing a 20 valve conversion to RWD I am going to post up pics of the parts and also mods required etc and make this into more of a tech thing once I have made more progress. Also have to thank a load of people on here for many many PM's asking questions and guidance.

I gather from your rides thread that the previous owner did this conversion. Do you have any idea on the costs to do something like this??
-
Cheers Andy. I will have to confirm that they actually have the part first and then work out what I am going to pay you for your services. I'll keep it in mind though mate.

A thermostat relocator for a 20V 4AGE. I am having all sorts of trouble getting in contact with them and would rather pay some extra to get someone to go in there and get it for me. I know it sounds weird

I'm doing a 20 valve into AE71 at the moment. When it is finished I can tell you if it is worth it or not. At this stage I am reluctant to continue with it due to increased cost over the 16 valve, however I am too committed funds wise and with parts now not to go ahead with it. I am not sure if I had my time again that I would go 20 valve. Too much stuffing round with the dizzy and water cooling issues. 20 Valve conversion in my mind - without labour costs as I have done most myself - will run into $3K plus. 16 Valve 4AGE can be had for $1500 as a package with ECU, gearbox, etc out of a RWD Sprinter so you bolt straight in. Way cheaper. 20 Valve will be revvier and make a bit more power than 16 Valve. But if you can't bare to spend more than $3K on it, don't even start with it. 4AGZE actually aren't that exciting out of the box and make about as much power as a 20 Valve standard.

Don't get me wrong I am all for the occasional "mental health day" but you should keep some sick days for when you get really sick. Most companies will look after you when/if you become quite ill if they can see that you have generally had a good record in relation to leave. When I get people whinge to me that they are not going to get paid due to lack of sick leave and I can see they have generally abused the system I don't give two shits and tell them to keep walking

What a great attitude to have??? I deal with people like you everyday that then genuinely get sick and don't have any leave to cover it. Have you thought about that ever happening to you?? WGMG - chasing places who make parts for you but you can't get into contact with them to actually buy something

Hey there I am from SA, and trying to get some parts from a place in Alstonville, Yager Performance. From my research, Alstonville is closer to Surfers and Brisbane than it is Sydney. I am finding this place hard to deal with, so wouldn't mind if someone was able to collect some parts for me and send them to me in SA. I will pay for your services if you are able to assist. Luke PM me if you are close to them and able to help. Or if you know any other way to get in contact with them to buy some parts.

BUMP Can anyone help??

Engine is being installed this weekend so will be plenty of pics of work being done and the finished product

I was in my daily Mazda 3. I was gonna toot and wave or something but you looked very intense like you were having issues with the car and I didn't want to "spook" you. You must have been trying really really hard to remain incognito. Agree that you were not making much noise with your driving
-
Package arrived on my desk this morning consisting of a Microtech LT10s, igniter box and dash display.
-
I say embrace it man. Anyway, I know you weren't giving it any but I was driving alongside you yesterday morning and I did not hear this loud induction noise you speak of. All I saw was pure unadulterated motoring sex in the form a KE16 on Adelaide's roads
-
I saw you driving this yesterday morning on Sturt Road, looks the goods
-
Must be a sleeper then hey  Not meaning to be too harsh mate that looks like a good AE71 and for the price I wouldn't be complaining. But seriously unless you are running something serious under the bonnet there is no need for your no. plate to be there. It just makes you look like a try hard  Not all KE/AE's need to be drift orientated. They were good at plenty of things before they became drift worthy
-
Nice ride.... Can I ask why the no. plate is mounted to the side when there is a perfectly good mount for it in the centre?
-
The rims are on it at the moment just don't have any pics with them on. All going well the engine is going in over the Easter long weekend  Then it is off to a workshop to be wired, tuned and exhaust made.... I can't wait for the day I get the phone call to come and pick it up to drive it home

Where can I find some of these wind deflectors for the rear doors?? I would love some for mine
-
Pic from rear, note black plastic louvre cut down to make roof spoiler. Only dummy fitted at this stage. Also note doilies attached to rear head rest and hat on rear shelf. Damn venetian made it hard to fit any kind of hat in there properly. It also has picnic rug on rear seat and cushions for the rear seats in nana fabric of course.
-
The jewel in the crown. Just waiting on a few more rwd parts before I drop it in the car. It will be running quad trumpets with socks, Microtech LT10S for engine management.

Rear/Side view, very and I mean very minimal rust in this old girl. Tiny bubbles appearing in both rear guards which will be fixed once I get it back on the road at the moment. Bodywork is a very low priority at the moment Sorry for no. of posts, having issues resizing massive pics from digi cam
