  1. The 4-1 design is definately the way to go but i have never seen proof of stepped headers offering any advantage at all, except in bracket style drag cars where the header design is set perfectly with engine specs. A proper set of tuned 4-1 will work better on just about every application, you could look at using a merge collector though for maximum horsepower
  2. I havent had a hoist in a shed but i did put a new hoist in my workshop, got a two post with overhead gantry which means the top of the hoist is its highest point, I'm sure the hoist maufacturer could give you the specs for a certain model. The other thing was that they required six inch thick concrete to mount onto. Cheers Justin
  3. I agree with Felix about fitting the ke20 front discs and calipers. The 12" wheels will still fit, you'll have better brakes and it will take about the same amount of time to fit as doing shoes
  4. What sort of switch are you using to turn the thermo fan on with? and is the thermostat rated at the same temp as the old one?
  5. Have you got fuel squirting into the carby when you pump the accelerator, and spark at the leads, if so, your timing must be out. good luck cheers justin
  6. Yeah nice. i used to have these on my old ke10 a few years back. got pulled over by these two cops one night and they asked if they were a factory option. of course i said yes.
  7. Yeah, those pics. thanks philbey. Sold this car about 5 years ago now, even with the genuine xw gt mirror. The new ke10 is in the middle of a rebuild hopefully finished by the end of this year.
  8. I'm not real good with these computer things, managed to get some pics into members gallery but couldnt get them into this thread.
  9. I bought my first ke10 about 15 years ago from an old guy in a place called new gisborne. It was white with a white vinyl roof, original engine and two speed toyoglide. The drive home nearly killed it , couldnt get it over 90km except downhill. When i pulled into the drive way the engine oil was actually boiling. Three weeks later i converted it to 4 speed manual and about a month later found a 5k and 5 speed. It was a great little car but not fast enough so i built a tough 4k with efi and put some simmons b45s on it. Ended up selling it to fund an overseas holiday and missed the little beast so much i bought another ke10 which is in the process of a rebuild, will start a rides thread in a couple of months. All of this interest in things corolla started when a next door neighbour showed me his ke25, bright red and named REDWARF (thanks very much Rob) cheers justin
  10. the first thing i would do is replace the fuel filter, for some reason suzuki's have a habit of blocking fuel filter s and having a very similar problem to what you stated. its worth a shot cheers justin
  11. The 350 Holley is a two barrel and still way to big for a K motor, better suited to something around 2600-3300cc engines
  12. Gday mate, I'm actually doing something similar at the moment, using a sc14 on a 5k. iHave a 145mm crank shaft pulley/balancer and using the same eqaution worked out that i need a pulley for the supercharger to be about 180mm to get the desired boost of 8psi at 6000rpm. this means the supercharger is under-driven don't know if this helps you at all but good luck with it cheers Justin

    My Ke20

i like the camo look you have achieved, maybe some matching synthetic grass floor mats to suit.
  14. You may as well just get a 5K, reckon you should be able to pick up a decent runner for about $5-700. It would give you a nice performance increase with the scope for more later down the track. They are the same physical size externally as a 4K and bolt straight in
  15. Mazda RX4 master works really nice on a KE10 with minimal modifications to the firewall.
  16. Thanks Ryan, thats exactly what i was looking for
  17. Hi all, Almost finished screwing together a 5k i plan on using with a sc14 supercharger. I'm wanting to find some info or eqaution to figure out how to get about 7-8psi of boost at 5-5500rpm. I have a crankshaft pulley/balancer of 148mm diameter. Any help would be greatly appreciated Justin.
  18. If the pipework on the sports exhaust was bigger than two inch diameter and the engine is otherwise standard then it is more than possible that your mate would lose power.
  19. the Ke70 handles quite well and has the potential to handle very well with relatively basic mods, But with the additional weight of a six cylinder hanging over the front axle line it would take considerable effort to get the handling good
  20. Trying not to sound too stupid here but now that you have the new image of the decal, what do you have to do to turn it into an actual sticker. Nice work by the way, this is a great idea.
  21. Id give it a go, theres no harm in trying, and if you have spare axles you have nothing to lose. At worst case you could always go to a differential specialist and they will redrill the axles for ya
  22. ^^^^^^^^^^^ Same as above maybe try a full moon disc or something and maybe a red wall tyre could look cool maybe.
  23. 1.5 inch pipe is to small. If your trying to gain a little power you really need 1.75 inch pipe with a good straight through sports muffler and resonator.
